Probably got lost in the fallout from the result, but what was everyone's thoughts on Fernandes?
14 Feb 2025 11:59:03
Too early to make any judgement. Time will tell.
14 Feb 2025 12:07:54
Thought he looked really nervous on the ball and not assured, obviously far to early to judge but early signs are that he is not comfortable on the ball.
14 Feb 2025 12:09:23
I didn't see the game as I'm on holiday, how's he liking in training? I got the impression from your previous comment that he's keen as mustard? Run through a brick wall to get the ball?
14 Feb 2025 12:10:27
Too early, wasn't overly impressed. Hopefully see more of him as it was a poor show all round that match.
14 Feb 2025 12:11:14
Quick.
Liked a gallop forward as he appeared in the RW at times?
Doesn't look as if the physical battle would faze him either.
At this moment Nsiala looks better.
14 Feb 2025 12:21:02
Looks pretty quick, comfortable on the ball. Didn't do anything wrong just a shame his debut was one to forget Ehl.
14 Feb 2025 12:30:05
He's a good size, and looks quick enough across the ground. Early days, but I'm not sure he's the type that would throw his head in where it hurts (a la Katic), more of a ball playing centre back. Don't think he takes any blame for the poor result and performance at the weekend, not much he could do about that.
14 Feb 2025 12:30:36
Dunno yet mate. Only had the radio to go by and they weren't very impressed. Maybe just the wrong 1st game. How's he looked training etc?
14 Feb 2025 12:36:57
Thought he showed as you explained EHL, looked quick and wants to charge forward. Too early to see what he is all about but look forward to seeing more of him.
14 Feb 2025 12:40:20
Early days, but got the physique.
Don't think he would be on Koppens radar if he wasn't comfortable on the ball.
14 Feb 2025 12:46:02
As I say it's too early but he wasn't good on the ball in Sunday, was well reported after the game, read a few ex players mention it as well.
14 Feb 2025 12:47:00
MPH, that made me laugh - likes a gallop is the perfect way to describe him.
I'm still on the fence in terms of wither I think he can adapt to our game - however he has the toolkit to be exceptional.
It will be interesting to see if Nsiala starts this weekend, as I think this will be his biggest challenge and we may see his temperament being tested.
14 Feb 2025 13:13:21
It's way too early to even ask the question. WAY TO EARLY ….
14 Feb 2025 14:14:54
Rough round the edges but expected as he hasn't played much at all in the past year or so but looked keen enough and definitely quick and looks like he will handle the physicality of our league. Passing abit rough too but he hasn't had the 6 months to settle like Nsiala so willing to give the lad time and see where it goes.
Agree with this weekend but he surely has to start especially since he's in the Euro squad.
14 feb 2025 14:15:31
more importantly what di you think of his temperament ehl, u believe he's ready fir parkhead, nsiala i mean, has he been out under pressure yet?
14 Feb 2025 14:44:15
Tom most of this team will fold at Celtic Park again. Raskin has already said that the players feel safer at Ibrox, what does that tell us about the mentality of our players? Raskin is supposed to be one of our leaders.
14 Feb 2025 14:46:13
Pick6 - to early to ask what question?
14 Feb 2025 14:48:37
Tom, think Nsiala has been a breath of fresh air since he stepped up - but when things weren't going his way in the B team he let things get to him.
So for me it's the one remaining question mark, something I think we might see tested at the weekend.
14 feb 2025 15:01:18
yes, tynie would be a good test, maybe playing with more experienced players has helped him grow up a wee bit.
14 Feb 2025 16:06:24
Fernandes was ok, I was very disappointed to see him go off, he tried to go forward at every opportunity, we saw nothing re his defensive abilities, this was due to him not being tested
I'd have kept him on and took propper off, one key negative he kept appearing on rw not what I want to see from my ch
I suspect against hearts it will be Souttar and propper, alth I'd pick nsiala.
14 Feb 2025 16:34:23
I seen the first half and thought he looked good on the ball and wanting to push forward.
Difficult to really judge him based on the fact the full squad played crap.
But also pairing him with Propper isn't going to help him.
weird that Fernandez got a game so quickly compared to Nsiala though, some on here saying Nsiala didn't look good enough in B team etc yet he looks a real good player to me.
Obviously both young lads so hopefully plenty to improve and grow.
