Sm8719 did we not sign nacho novo from Dundee? Hardly an issue signing a talented boy from our home league who knows how to play in our league and is performing well in it.

As for everyone calling for the manager to be sacked. It's amazing how much lacking in patience our fanbase has become. Guys got half the team out injured, trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Team full mercenary signings on big wages that he has to trim tighter than a bikini wax and no money to bring the required squad depth he needs to meet demand.
Only blame should go to those above him who has scapegoated him into this position. Our fans need a reality check and we need to come to terms with the fact that some long term pain is what's needed to build us back into the club we once knew. Sacking clement and throwing some other poor sod into the same position will do nothing.

Dundee had 9 players out. The amount he's cut our wage bill by so far is £2 million more than Dundee annual turnover. There can be no excuse for these constant poor performances against teams like this. Mercenary signings? The team put out tonight were all signed when he was coach I think apart from Yilmaz maybe Diomande. No wonder some are lacking in patience. Guys been at the club over a year and the inconsistency of performance is staggering.

Agree! But folk still expect Barcelona to be walking out the tunnel, beat Celtic, win trophies, compete with spurs and Man Utd etc. what manager would come in and make that lot better? Here’s a question, how many in here would have played a different team selection and different formation tonight? Very few! The players didn’t perform, players that were being hailed as hero’s recently, hagi, Bajrami, Danilo, hamza. None of whom could create any decent chances other than for one goal. But that’s Clemente fault.
And before you say we’re not expecting Barcelona but 4 away wins is a disgrace, I’m aware it’s not good enough but we are where we are. What are the board doing to bring in fresh investment into the team? They filled us with soft loans years ago and took them back the minute we done well in Europe, rather than reinvesting the money and moving us forward. So we are where are and no manager is going to change that without some decent money.

Look Chris I get where your coming from and I understand how much he’s been up against it as I understand it’s deeper than just the players he’s been dealing with and I was still giving him time but no matter how positive the signs are out with the results ( which need to be the main thing ) he has to go it’s untenable he’s at a point where no matter what he does he’s lost the majority of the fan base. The painful thing is this is even more money down the drain and probably takes a fair chunk out of any decent budget we had lined up.

Chris, I'd keep him at least until the summer although I don't think he'll have much funds to deal with in this transfer window.
The sorry thing is this result is not a surprise anymore, it's becoming commonplace.

I would have played a different line up and formation.

Lacking in patience? What kind of pathetic happy clapping nonsense is that? We have had 13 years of this pish. He’s not improving the team, we can’t beat Dundee who were missing 9 players, with a team that cost about 100x the price of the Dundee team. Honestly man some of the drivel some folk come out with on here excuses after excuses?.

This page is the only place where I know rangers fans that want him to stay, none of my pals, none on the bus, none at work, no one in my family no one on Twitter. It’s beggars belief that people still want this manager to be given time to humiliate us further.

Alloa, I see where your coming from but in football it comes down to the coaching team. If it's s not going well they get replaced. Just happened at Everton. Footballs pish results poor Dyche is gone. If it wasn't for the soft loans put in by the board I shudder to think where we would be. As much as those guts get lambasted at times, they're keeping us and have kept us afloat.

Wishy I think you have just actually supported Chris's post. there have been 13 years of it with how many different managers and apart from 1 year when there were no fans present we haven't challenged really. That is what Chris is saying that the club's fans need to have some realisation of where we are as a club now and that the board, PC and Koppen are now trying to put the building blocks in place to eventually get us back there. That won't happen quickly and even if a new manager comes in do you think the other parts will miraculously be fixed. I think the board sees that point which is why they may stick with him. if not see you back here with the same discussion in a year.

WishyBear, see Angus1812s post as you've just supported my whole argument with your comment.
13 years with 1 title.

Gerrard "fix the roof while the sun is shining" no proper investment in a squad that won the title by the board above. Left less than 6 months later

Gio - Gets us to a europa league final, lack of investment in players needed to take us to that next level. Binned 6 months later working with mercenary players bought by the board.

Beale - less said about that snake oil salesman the better. Binned rightly so but again at a cost to the club.

Clement now in, sold the fairytale of what our club used to be, probably promised heaven and earth to make it right and has now been hung out to dry by a board that until recently had zero structure because they all jumped ship or took a sick note. All to wash their hands of the mess they have out us in.

Il thank the board for what they got us out of 13 years ago, but this current ownership structure is not what we need now. If you are an impatient fan what you want is a singular majority owner who is willing to invest large sums of money to speed this rebuild. But the wanring signs are evident in that, just look at our history, it's enough to give me nightmares. If it stays the same structure ownership wise then unfortunately we as fans will just need to suck it up, take on a bit of long term pain and hope clement can build what he has promised on. That team is in that group of players, showed that by beating celtic. It is just lacking depth of players capable of playing a European style which has us performing well in Europe, and a British style which has us beating the like of Dundee, hibs etc. Probably why we are targeting boys like lyall Cameron et Al.

Angus1812 thanks for seeing the point I was trying to put across. Unfortunately for anyone who's a fan it's incredibly hard to accept, myself included, i'm not happily clapping in front of the telly or in the stands. But I'm trying to persevere as so much of us need to do. Truth is, recent history shows we have been through far worse. This is nothing compared to admin years in regards to hurt.
But I believe in this project, I believe Clement is the right choice for now. See yous back here this time next year.
