Is this one of the quietest windows ever on this site. Never seen so few rumours before.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2025 16:00:31
Wonder why JFM mate.

04 Jan 2025 16:02:08
Who really wants to be posting rumours to be shot down in flames? Sometimes rumours have plenty of substance but the deal breaks down or whatever then the poster can become ridiculed.

04 Jan 2025 16:05:29
I don’t think we’ll do a huge amount of business this window. I expect mostly outgoings and have low expectations that any funds raised will be reinvested.

Priority must be at least 1 CB if not 2 and suspect one or both to be loans.

Hope I’m wrong and we get 4 or 5 quality players in but just don’t see it this window.

04 Jan 2025 16:44:32
Jfm the hecklers said they can read it in the paper when it happens.

04 Jan 2025 17:01:46
John do you think rangers will bring in any players in the january window.

04 Jan 2025 17:11:32
John there are many that appreciate the info as you know.
Treating everybody the same because of a few hecklers is like blaming the whole section of fans for 1 idiot throwing a coin.

04 Jan 2025 17:35:43
Ok I'll get the ball rolling I saw Vladimír Weiss shopping in braehead.

04 Jan 2025 17:36:49
it is just the 4th January so still early and did you not read we are signing Ryan Kent and Cerny is going to Valencia. 1 every 2 days.

it is a shame that those who are in the know don't report due to the hassle they got EHL being the latest.

04 Jan 2025 17:37:31
Think we'll just need to wait and see if anyone leaves 1st. Probably be a and of window job with maybe a couple of loans tho not sure how many were allowed.

04 jan 2025 18:11:23
as long as they aren't rangers fans, there's always been a deep dislike if any former present or future rangers supporters on here, unless they're dead,

from ferguson to ferguson, we've dissed them all, we do not like rangers supporting players, fir some bizarre reason, i want a team of them myself.

04 Jan 2025 18:14:48
Correct John it's sometimes safer to post the news rather than the rumour now.

04 Jan 2025 18:16:21
Because people have their knickers in a twist because fans have opinions on their rumours it’s pathetic really.

04 Jan 2025 18:18:22
Collective punishment i beleive it's called jfm. The people in the know, know that there will always be folk who slate everything and anything.
Just try not to take it personally.
Post your info or don't guys, as 90% on here appreciate it, if you want to let the few win then fair enough.

04 Jan 2025 18:36:32
Not taking it personally bb4, I just think it's a shame, would be as well not having the rumours page and just have the banter and other posts. I for one having no contacts whatsoever appreciated the info.

04 Jan 2025 18:51:26
Marty yes I do.
Jfm we have lost guys like Copland 5. Whitehorse Ehl and ibrox 2 me who all brought good accurate info

Angus correct re Ehl, when I met ibrox recently, a top man with very good insight.

04 Jan 2025 18:54:53
Storm your opinion, not mine I loved reading rumours these guys posted

Jfm many say we should not have the rumour site, I’m sure Ed’s would disagree because they pit a tremendous amount of work into it for us.

04 Jan 2025 18:56:06
Liked EHL always took the time to answer any query you had?.

04 Jan 2025 19:02:12
I didn't see what happened with ehl, not having a go john, like I said I appreciated the info from yourself and posters like cf5 whitehorse etc,

04 Jan 2025 19:09:50
I love a rumour even if it turns out to be nothing it’s what this time of years all about, Any Rumour is welcome in my book, Some folk on here have called things long before papers etc! Keep them coming ??.

04 Jan 2025 19:15:01
Lets not make this site like a left wing hurty word forum. I will stand for our rights to be offended till my last breath. If 95% of folks like what I post and I get a bit upity on 5% I will take that as a win and move on. Please feel free to critise this post knowing I appreciate your opinion.

04 Jan 2025 19:29:17
Jfm, I know u r not having a go, you r one of the most respectful posters on here, I reall enjoy your posts.

04 Jan 2025 19:46:08
John I never said it was your opinion and everyone on here is entitled to theirs. Just pathetic the people don’t post because someone may disagree with them it’s childish.

What happened to ehl?

04 Jan 2025 19:46:36
100% TJBB but people love to be offended now.

04 Jan 2025 20:11:33
Jfm i wasn't meaning you, to not take it personally as you don't post roumers mate, i was meaning the guys that do.
Correct storm, it's like am not playing because someone said something about me.
I have people having a go at my posts views etc all the time, isn't going to stop me posting, how's that any different to people having a go at a roumer?

04 Jan 2025 20:28:29
I called BS on one of his posts, Storm, and he has left in a huff!

Seriously, you would have thought I committed an offense, and the faux outrage was rampant. I was called a "bombastic balloon" (still my favourite) off of Harold Bishop! Tom accused me of being drunk! It was hilarious! Honestly, I've never enjoyed a thread more just because I called a poster out.

To think anyone on here gets so offended by anyone who disagrees with them, or calls BS on their posts, is pretty pathetic! Seriously, some need to grow thicker skin - it's an online football forum open to different opinions, where posters can't expect everyone to agree with them.

If I was that easily offended, I would have been out of here long ago after some of the things posted about me. Do I care? Nope! Not one bit! I really don't understand why any grown-up would allow anyone, including me, to offend them, or upset them that much, that they stop doing what they love.

Look at what was posted on the finance pages when I posted what I had been told the other day. I was accused of posting "garbage". Did I go in a huff? Nope! Did I get offended? No! Why? Because life is far too short to give a toss that someone thinks I posted "garbage"!

I hope EHL comes back. Apart from the post I called out, his posts are usually top notch and I enjoy them very much. I might not agree with everything that he posts, but he is a very good poster.

04 Jan 2025 20:30:52
Differing of opinions Storm.

04 jan 2025 21:01:24
mmm, i think it was the way you called him out and said his words were bs mate, let's have it right eh.

04 Jan 2025 21:29:37
Is that not what I posted? ? And there was me thinking I had posted that I called BS on his post?! What am I like? ???.

04 Jan 2025 21:56:19
John, your info is usually spot on. Keep it coming.

05 Jan 2025 09:51:04
it isn't the disagreeing or opinions that gets to people but the way it is done. I know I have fallen into that bad habit at times but will now try to not.

it wasnt even a rumour from EHL but a post saying he now recognised someone who had been at training ground a few weeks or months back. he had recognised him from a story in the paper. there were better ways to respond than to call it BS imo. and yes I called you a bully but that aggressive type of response could be considered that. I apologise now and won't use that again.
Sunshine re finance page the word garbage was used once by a poster but the whole thread is respectful even though it just can't be true. I suggest others read it to make their own minds up though.

05 Jan 2025 10:19:41
I agree, Angus, and your replies were very respectful and open to discussion, and I appreciate the responses.

The point I'm making is that I called a poster's post BS and was set upon as a "bully", while having slurs thrown at me such as "bombastic balloon", "idiot", and even accused of being drunk. Is that not rather hypocritical? Of course it is, but the self-righteous don't do irony! ??.

{Ed001's Note - your wording was aggressive. You called someone a liar for saying they recognised someone they had seen at the training ground. Your response was antagonistic and did not lead to open discussion. Why not just think about how you word responses in future, instead of just claiming it is all their fault?}

05 Jan 2025 10:42:48
Fair enough Ed001! But what about the replies?! Were they ok? Or did I just bring them on myself? ?

If you're quick enough to dish out you advise, to me, should you not be consistent when my post is being described as "garbage"?! How does the word "garbage" lead to "open discussion"?

I accept my response was out of order, but if you're going to pull me up, then at least be consistent instead of letting other poster's "antagonistic" posts slide. Just saying!

{Ed001's Note - I think you brought it on yourself as your response was garbage. I deleted most of the responses to you, I only let the softer ones through.}

05 Jan 2025 11:01:11
No, my response was wrong, and I should have worded it better, but I stand by what I posted and that this was not said player at Ibrox.

Look, you hold all the control on here, and if you want to have one rule for some, and another rule for others, then kudos to you! You obviously have no issue letting certain posters call BS on posts, or call them "garbage", while calling others out. But I'm not here to play teachers pet, and if you have an issue with that, then you have all the control to ban me. Honestly, I won't lose any sleep over it. Or if any the replies were not as soft as those you allowed. Unlike some of the snowflakes on here, it means the square root of sod all to me what others think.

{Ed001's Note - and yet you are still whining out of ignorance. I am not the only editor on here and not the only one who chooses what goes through. I don't like posts saying stuff like that and will delete them. Other editors think they are ok. But as you don't care, why are you still going on about it?}

05 Jan 2025 11:24:03
Ahhhh! So, pointing something obvious out is "whinning"?!

Look, I agree that my reply opened me up to criticism, and I regret how I worded my reply to EHL, who I think is a really good poster, but I stand by that what he posted was not correct.

The fact is that the day, I, or anyone else on here, cares that much what is posted about them on an open football forum, is the day the game is a bogey. However, when someone questions something, or points out double standards, they have that right. My main point was that anyone quiting the site for being called out, while having no issue calling out posts themselves, is pretty pathetic.

Look, we obviously have differing opinions here, and I accept my reply to EHL was way out of order, so I'll leave it there. You're a good guy, and a brilliant Ed, and even though we've had this disagreement here, I do appreciate everything you do for us on here with the forum. Life's too short, so thanks for the advise, I will take it on board.

{Ed001's Note - it is not because you pointed something obvious out, it is because you are still going on about it days later.}

05 Jan 2025 11:32:25
??? It wasn't me that started the thread and brought it back up! ??? It's quite obvious there's others that "are still going on about it"! So, it's OK for them? ?.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't see that, so can't comment on that. But you could have easily let it slide if you don't care. I don't comment on hundreds of posts a day that are aimed at me across all the sites. It is just not worth the bother mate. Let them have their say and you move on and be the bigger man as they say.}

05 Jan 2025 11:46:45
OK mate, you're absolutely correct. However, I did enjoy this wee interaction! Cheers T!

Anyway, I don't want to fall out with you as I hope I'm on here later celebrating a victory over M Utd - weather permitting.

What's your thoughts on the story doing the rounds about Trent's contract offer? Is this £78m figure true? Or just MSM BS?

{Ed001's Note - we wouldn't fall out mate. I have no problem with you disagreeing with me. I know I get it wrong too.

The Mirror just guessed, based on a rumour about the amount that he was wanting. Just another non-story.}
