Reading all the posts praising players for the win the other day is great and well due but let's not get carried away we have 2 away games comming up Hibs and Dundee next these games are were players need to prove themselves aswel we've seen how quickly it can turn with Clement but let's not forget how poor our away record is just now we need the players to perform every week not just big games with 50,000 fans behind them.

Dependant on how they play against us tbf, Hibs may be more open as they're improving, where as Dundee will probably play a low block, either way we need to maintain and back up our performance against Celtic. ?.

why can't we get carried away, first win in a long time against them. enjoy it while we can. indeed let's hope we can move on from it however i think its too late, they won't drop 11 points (even if we win next 2 against them there is still 5 points and goal difference.
i think closing the gap and maybe lifting a cup is about all we can hope for this season.

Personally don’t think things have changed much. Yes we have talent that can rise to the odd occasion, but we have a lout of young players in the team with not a lot of professional matches under their belts. And unfortunately with that comes inconsistency.
Boydy made a great point the other day on Dky which not a lot of folk have picked up on that this Rangers side and PC know how to play games when they don’t have a lot of the ball. But against lesser opposition when they have the ball do t really know how to use it to break teams down. I think that’s a great observation and until we can find a system that enables us to break teams down, creat and exploit gaps then I can see the season continue as is. Maybe a bit of an improvement as the players gel more but not much.
Still think we need to compliment a lot of these young guys with a bit of experience like we did with Arfield and Davis.

I'm getting well carried away and nobody is stopping me and my joy. We are rank rotten so i'm now getting all excited when we can even muster up a draw. So a win Vs them has got me at level 5.

So, we've finally managed to beat the tims, and you are saying "let's not get carried away"?! Hmmm?!
Nope, we should celebrate this, and it's not a case of getting 'carried away', more a realism that they are not unbeatable and we can match them, and beat them, moving forward.
Of course, you are correct, and we now have 2 x away games, which we all know, are our Achilles heel, so we must ensure we build on Thursday's result and performance.

We're Rangers, always hope, after that rubbing other day don't know hits going to pan out or mentality of tic. Few tic draws, we continue winning, down to OF games, our winning continues. We're now second having made huge gap up on sheep. We live in hope.

Actually it’s been shown apart from the first Old firm game the squad has performed well in big games. Okay 4-1 defeat to Lyon but that’s the so called second old firm game in a row where they didn’t show up? We have a nucleus of a squad there, but we need to get a grip of domestic football. We need to recruit for that. If players only want the buzz of big games then they really shouldn’t be in Scottish football.

The reason these players, and clement, are getting praised is because that result and performance was a massive monkey off our backs! Folk have been skating clement and the “serial losers” for failing to turn up against them, well for me the last 2 games have shown that, against a full strength celtic team, we are more than capable of matching them in every department. Consistency is now the key but that result was massive for those players and clement.

Not very often we give them a good doing over, and some decision hasn't influenced the game against us. let's just enjoy this one for a bit ??.

Can’t get Carried away because we are 11 points behind still we have had to many false dawns and the fake bravado from some fans always comes back to bite us. Enjoy the win but let’s no get ahead of ourselves. We had fans after the cup final saying if we win every game etc let’s get a run of games and more than 1 old firm win in like 15 games before we go wild.

If Celtic ha£ beaten us on Thursday the knives would have been out for all concerned.
So the opposite should also be celebrated when we beat them.
Nobody is getting carried away. Just a frustration and realism that with a bit of consistency in performances we wouldn’t be that far away.
Thursday should be the platform to kick on for the rest of the season.
And after that performance, we shouldn’t be worried about Hibs and Dundee - they should fear us.
Fingers crossed it isn’t another false dawn.

why can't we enjoy the win. I hope that the players get confidence that the high press works and we can use it at every game to panic teams into losing the ball. ATM we play the ball in front of their defence all the time with very little movement between the liens. If we can disrupt them and win back ball early they might not be as settled and we will have players between the lines.

Credit where it's due, the manager got his selection and tactics spot on. If he can get us better organised for the low block you just never know. You never know, we're only half way through the season. We won the league in 2005 when 7 behind with 5 to play. A couple of dodgy results for them will swing it in our favour.

We played half the season with Dessers up front on his own and Lawrence as a number 10. That has changed and with it results have improved.

when you play against tight defences you must have a penalty box poacher. someone who shoots at every opportunity, not someone who looks to pass to someone else or someone who can't find his own legs, shoot shoot and shoot again
that's when your bench is needed, if you havnt scored, get the poacher on.
