Question for those who want PC out, Who would you replace him with and what would the expectations be?
if a muscat for example came in didn't win the league or beat celtic do we just then sack him and keep the same pattern going?
Imo if we sack PC there won't be a big list of high calibre candidates looking to take over especially in our Financial situation and when it's clear fans have no patience to allow a full CLUB rebuild, Which is required and underway!
personally i'd stick with PC but if he is sacked the next manager needs patience from fans this isn't a one window fix it's going to take a a lot more than that unless we somehow find multi millions lying around!

I would replace him with someone who know's what they are doing.
28 Dec 2024 18:16:33
We all know 1 window wouldn't fix it mate but it's the shocking performances and the poor results along with the bad recruitment that he has brought in.
28 Dec 2024 18:23:50
Disagree if you actually understand what he’s been doing in the background and what’s he’s had to deal with you’d understand he needs time. Most that want him gone don’t understand that he’s in the middle of restructuring everything from the youth squad to the wage structure. Think he gets gerrad time and we could do with that.
28 Dec 2024 18:27:27
R1 never mind win the league what happens if he loses a game.
28 Dec 2024 18:28:35
Mike Bassett, 100%.

There must be plenty of young and talented managers across Europe at prices we can afford. Clement is failing and needs replaced. My expectations would be to be more competitive within Scottish football in the short-term. Third is an utter embarrassment. Totally unacceptable.
28 Dec 2024 18:51:37
Folk keep talking only about comparison and competing with Celtic. It's not about just losing to celtic or losing the league tho. We've only had one game against them in the league. It's poor football and struggling to beat all the other teams who are far poorer and always having to rebuild year after year especially away from home that's putting him under pressure. I'm not yet calling for the sack but I am calling for a huge improvement especially against these other teams. Rebuild or not we should be outscoring and beating them more regularly. To have only one team with worse goals away is embarrassing.
28 Dec 2024 18:58:28
Who is 3rd like Wow?
28 Dec 2024 19:47:53
Changing manager doesn't mean it will turn around any quicker. Look at man united and the highly rated coach they just got in.
28 Dec 2024 19:59:02
January will be very interesting, I'll watch closely on who he wants to move on and what type of player we try for, that will sway me on Clement, as I'm still giving him some slack as he's left with players he probably rather not have, but some of his changes at times worry me.
28 Dec 2024 20:13:20
maybe i am one of the few but i can see what he is trying to do and more importantly the problems we have trying to do it.
as for players not turning up first half against st mirren, i agree and they need roasted but its not the first time and certainly won't be the last that players underperform. it happens under any manager. now if we had a barrel load of players waiting to come off the bench to replace the underperformers then great but we dont.
for sure i don't want 3rd place but we arent. for those who aren't old enough we have finished a lot worse than 3rd in our history.
try supporting the manager and team when things aren't going well iso constantly berating the very players who a few weeks ago were getting applauded.

Angus you are on one today, it’s not about losing one game it’s seeing improvement over a period of time, you are one of many on here that keep saying that we need to be patient and look at the bigger picture, in 12 months since the manager has been here we are in a considerably worse position in the league and he has had money to spend, that’s not improvement.
He has reduced the wage bill but that does not win you football matches.
28 Dec 2024 20:45:22
Correct Kaiser the gulf in finances between us and the clubs below us is considerable yet we struggle against these teams who are physical and well organised.
28 Dec 2024 21:21:34
Also many saying how we struggle to break down teams parking the bus however this season more than others teams haven't been behind the ball but have played better than us for large periods. We hold no fear factor for them anymore. We've become predictable and even saints manager said he knew he could target our weaknesses as was able to react and make changes to suit.
28 Dec 2024 21:24:03
Good post geesa, I also see what he is trying to do in restructuring our club
Rosevale if we don’t reduce the wage bill we go down the tubes.
There will be several million trimmed again by end of summer window.
28 Dec 2024 22:05:01
To what end John is balancing the books.
We still have spent money close season and once again the recruitment has been generally poor.
Manager has to carry the can for that.
We should be doing much better 12 points behind at this point is crap, and don’t believe for one second that was part of the yearly plan even if we were cutting costs.
28 Dec 2024 22:45:24
John, good point reg wage bill. The club did well getting huge hitters off the books during the summer, more needed though. We've blew a fortune in recent years on crazy wages.
28 Dec 2024 23:08:26
Hi mate, 1st time poster I get we had/ have to slash the wage bill but we're being told @ the AGM there will be money to spend in January the club has been poorly run for many years poor investment in players and ridiculous wages handed out to bang average players we need players in and we need them now.
29 Dec 2024 01:24:38
I agree Willie and it’s very difficult to do both reducing wages and having a team able to challenge them in the next year or two, because if we don’t then they will benefit from having the income of the champions league for a long time and you can see how that is hurting us financially at the present.
So it is more vital for us to try and get the recruitment right because as difficult as it is to get them all right we don’t have any room for error when we are spending 3 or 4 million on a player, and during Clements tenure the players that have cost that figure so far have not been either consistent enough or chipped in with enough goals.
29 Dec 2024 06:30:39
Yet the guy that has, most want rid off.
29 Dec 2024 08:03:01
PC will easily see the season out as the new board men along with our existing board fully appreciate the predicament the club is in due to years of mismanagement - this will hurt for a time to come but support the process and stop crying out for crazy change for changes sake - NEVER in the clubs history has a rebuild been needed so much so hopefully this is also driving us to get more homegrown talent and get a bit more Scottish identity back to the club - times are hard but yes I know we NEED to beat them across the city but stability and a correct trading model is required or we can forget EVER competing with them - fine margins have cost us in recent OF games so we need to stop bleating about overpowering them when currently we have competed and mostly our errors or VAR have decided crucial games - so hopefully we will see progress next season. Accept the change needed or there may not be a great future if any for this great club.
PS Cerny who was pilloried on here not but a few months ago has shown his worth but gut feeling is he will be too pricy come the deal time - also he could walk into many lower Premier League teams and show his worth so let's enjoy what the lad brings at present!
29 Dec 2024 10:22:10
That’s your narrative but what if the manager isn’t the man for the job, most fans understand there is a rebuild going on but a lot of fans are not convinced with some of the signings and money has been spent, also and this reflects on the results in the league our bread and butter.
Also I keep hearing it’s important we trust in our youth system, who has came out of that in the last couple of years that has been in and around the first team, McCausland? Do we need someone who has more faith in our youth system? Is the manager getting consistent performances or a good standard of football from this group of players, the answer is no.
