Plenty of posts re Manager, under performing players, sack him etc. I suggest Man City should sack Pep then as there is a team which has fallen right off a cliff which cost more than our club including stadium, training ground etc is worth!
However, the one question i have is what everyone thinks is the issue with our away form? Why are we so different than being at Ibrox? Why cannot we play the same style, press the opposition hard, pin them back and go for the throat right away and throughout?

I think it comes down to the tactics used by the opposition. We perform poorly when a team plays a low block. We simply don't have the players to break it down.

I get what you are saying JFM but surely those teams play the low block at Ibrox? (they may do away from home as well) . Its not like Ibrox is a cauldron of noise and fear on most league days compared to European nights so is not that intimidating for the opposition. We just seem to play weirdly different away for home, give the opposition too much respect and allow them to play rather than just getting stuck in.

Boyblue : of course you can’t compare them but this thing about not beating Celtic do you not agree that Celtic at this moment in time are just a better team and you can change managers every year if you want but if the opposition are a better team with better players and a far stronger squad the results will not change for me we need to give him two more windows and the board need to back him or this will be where we are for years to come no matter who the manager is they have had years to build that team and money we have to get away from hire sack and repeat.

Tav has already stated in recent years that they don't like it when away teams get in their faces (by the way, a criminal statement for a rangers Captain to make) .
We have better players than the rest of the league, so the basic cause of our away form is that our players don't fancy the battle as much as the home team!
You have to win the battle first and earn the right to play football.

But why back a manager that has already spent money on players that don’t look like value for money, so far Cortez, Diomande, Propper and Bahjrami have cost us what 15 million or so? Are we better than last season, well league results would suggest no, so let’s keep giving this manager money to spend, I’d rather give it to a manager or recruitment team that can identify value for money.

The 4-2-3-1 is very poor against the low block. Under Gerrard we played through t and with a 4-3-3 narrow. Clement has moved away from the 4-3-3 narrow that Beale was working on and now uses a 4-2-3-1 wide that simply won’t work domestically. We need to go back to 4-3-3 and play through the centre of the pitch. These low block teams are happy to surrender wide areas all day long. They want you to just hit crosses in that they can head away.
The current manager has his tactics all wrong. They have been tried and tested and they don’t work.

Two strikers beats the low block. Tried and tested for years under Smith, McLeish, Advocaat. Miller Boyd, McCoist Hately, Wallace Mols, Wallace Dodds, Miller Jelavic, Miller Novo, Boyd Novo, Flo Averladze, Lovenkrands Averladze.
Low block surrender width, so put crosses in to two strikers.

problem is that we hit crosses in from wrong area of pitch 30 yards out. no matter the team or tactics players don't like defending with face to goal so if they play narrow and we get out wide and behind that and cross low from right areas. speed of play has been our issue. when we play fast we beat their low block when we play slow as with St Mirren (first half particularly) then we don't look great.
Is it the size of the pitch which is different as tactics arent. we down play well against teams who have aggressive forwards who chase and battle for long balls forward.

The next transfer window is almost upon us and so we will see who comes in and, importantly, who goes out. The team tactics for the second half of the season should become clearer then. I reckon that there are some that are definitely seen as excess and can be sold.
