Ehl it’s late but I know I’ll forget in morning,
can u elaborate on why Bailey rice won’t make it at rangers mate?
In your opinion what’s the reason For that?
Cheers.

I'm shocked he said Bailey Rice wouldn't make it. Rice was one of the highest rated players in his age range while at Motherwell. He was more highly rated than Lennon Miller. I firmly believe that Rice would be playing forst-team football for Motherwell had he stayed there. His career has stagnated at Rangers and now he is being written off.
Meanwhile, Lennon Miller who was his midfield partner at Motherwell has come on leaps and bounds. HE's worth millions and is now miles ahead of Rice.
This is clear evidence that Rangers youth academy is failing. I bet if you were to ask Rice in private if he regrets the move to Rangers he would say he does. There's no way a boy with that talent wants to sit in our reserves until his best years are behind him. He needs to get out. Many of them do.

yet another sly underhand dig at our club then
don't you think nobody cares what you think and you should just get yourself a life kid
stevie, obviously ehl has identified or been advised that bailey hasn't progressed to the standards that he will step into a rangers first team, doesn't mean he won't find his place and have a decent career.
23 Dec 2024 06:24:19
Persona non grata up there???.
23 Dec 2024 06:58:34
Tom definitely a tim mate, I posted somewhere else he wanted Beale to stay but he wants Clement sacked, that tells me he is a worried tim.
23 Dec 2024 07:26:26
CHOF yet u also criticise the club for playing King when he wasnt yet ready? I think most, even the manager agree youth development isn't working but unfortunately it's a league problem not just Rangers with no reserves.
23 Dec 2024 07:47:27
One Formation has heavy Beale vibes but surely he can only have one burner account?
23 dec 2024 08:16:14
verdant abyss,
23 Dec 2024 08:20:50
King was progressing nicely, we were strapped with injury, the boy had to step up/ with sands beside him in the Champions League fgs, he understandably had a hard time, the boys confidence was destroyed, hope he finds his way back, maybe wrong but goldson going off didn't help, he was till then keeping the boy right, he'd been doing well in the league. Also he's not a natural CH.
23 Dec 2024 08:38:10
Fork 1 of kings problems is he doesn’t seem to have a best position. Most call him a CH but yet he’s not going to play 1st team football for us there so where does he play? If it’s rb or cm the guy isn’t he playing there the now?
23 Dec 2024 08:41:04
Stevie, of course, but it's a little sensitive and just my opinion.
First of all Rice is a hell of a player and has a brilliant football mind.
Unfortunately he's not developing physically, so would really struggle to compete with the game speed we play at.
(When I say physically I don't mean 'hes to small')
23 Dec 2024 08:44:07
Only my opinion but Rice looks like he would give us more than Dowell.
23 Dec 2024 08:56:38
Jaws my granny would give us more than Dowell.
23 Dec 2024 08:58:31
Just my personal opinion here but if my boy kick on and gets picked up (he's 7) would much rather it be with a Dundee United, Aberdeen or a Motherwell than Rangers. Far far better opportunities to progress.
23 Dec 2024 10:19:31
He's a DM Stevie, was switched to CH?.
23 Dec 2024 10:26:09
Paul, if you could pick a path it's be to get them in to Rangers / Celtic academy from as young as possible and then at around 16 move them to another SPL club.
That way they get the best coaching from early on and then have a much better opportunity to get first team minutes.
Unless of course, something changes.
23 Dec 2024 10:29:30
Paul, killie, united and Motherwell seem to be the best for giving young lads a chance there set ups are all quite decent as well.
23 Dec 2024 10:51:41
Paul if your boy ever makes the grade as a footballer please please do not let him go to rangers. I wouldn’t if I had a boy that made it.
23 Dec 2024 10:53:28
Ehl thanks for answer mate. I thought with his height rice was developing well, I’ll take it by that u mean his strength as speeds not a big part of him a game, I thought he done well the other night v g Celtic, looks a very tidy centre mid go collect make space n pass. Maybe needs to add bits going forwards to his game but I like look of him.
23 Dec 2024 11:23:21
Stevie G, football is measured on metrics nowadays.
Perfect example was the lad Ramsay from Aberdeen that Liverpool signed.
Physically his outputs were off the chart and were continuing to progress - Liverpool took the gamble as if they could coach him they'd have a hell of a player.
Rice is kinda the opposite, has all the ability but physically is starting to fall behind - through absolute no fault of his own, it's just how he's developing.
He's only 18 though, so hopefully he's just a late developer.
23 Dec 2024 11:36:24
Paul somehow get them into an English academy, obviously helps if u live in England, the set up south of the border is light years ahead of old firm.
23 Dec 2024 12:36:28
Yeah john would agree with that. No much of that scouting up our way although young lad from dundee been signed by man united at 8 year old my newphew was involved at west brom through the years, now 18 and sadly doesn't play at all now. EHL i would not consider Rangers or celtic youth team coaches any better than anybody elses tbh.
23 Dec 2024 13:54:25
Paul86, it's all about opinions, but I'd say that in the younger age groups they are miles ahead.
As John said though, it's all relative as we're miles behind those South of the border.
Although there's a lot to dislike about the coaching set up in England as they seem to be hell bent on producing robots.
23 Dec 2024 14:54:46
Ehl I do agree about developing robots, I’ve watched both my grandkids in England set up and epl, with different teams, I’m stunned the stick players get for running at defenders, taking them on creating a chance. The session gets stopped, the players are shown what was wrong, ie should try ten passes to go sideways or back, u only need to watch England in euros to see what I mean.
I once had a discussion with a renowned epl manager about Jimmy Johnstone and Davy cooper and he felt they could not operate in todays robotic set up
That is damming.
23 Dec 2024 15:22:40
Ehl I know you are involved at rangers and will be biased mate but the guys are right better to go to other teams to make breakthrough as a kid than rangers or celtic. I was in at mwell for a few years as a kid wanting to be the next super ally but wasn’t to be as I found a love for tea cakes and irn bru ?.
My best mate boy is in at mwell just now been there for 6 years and he is 13 now and loving it.
23 Dec 2024 15:58:57
John, I had a pretty cool conversation with one of the Fulham coaches earlier in the year.
They were American and compared a lot of the coaching to how the NFL is set up - they originally came from Arsenal and were pretty daming about how things were being done.
They were waxing lyrical about how good things were under Marco Silva.
Seems he was right as they're flying.
23 Dec 2024 19:22:53
Ehl, it’s amazing when u get chatting to non British coaches how different the mindset about the game is played
In this country if you play three or four positions u r not that good, abroad you are a real asset, I’ve heard clement discuss this.
