I think/ hope we beat that mob at ibrox on the 2nd of january but god forbid if we don't, i still think philippe clement deserves at least another 2 transfer windows to get the players he wants and completes the rebuild ? Most definitely we have improved and i see good signs that our manager will get us to where we need to be and challenge them for the league title, he deserves the time for me ???
We need stability and surely we can all see good signs now that clement is that man and he gets my total backing ?.
20 Dec 2024 19:31:41
Walter ; totally agree we need to get away from sacking a manager every year or so stability is the key he needs time to get rid of a few and bring in a few but you can see improvements.
20 Dec 2024 19:54:19
Everyone here is hoping for a win, SWS. We brought in lots of players in the last two windows, I am against bringing too many players from now on, but 2-3 players per window would be easy to integrate with the rest of the core.
Having a long-lasting Rangers manager these days is a tricky proposal - if he is not doing well, he will be sacked within a year (unless your name is Clement) ; if he is successful, he will move to greener pastures.
20 Dec 2024 20:04:30
If he fails on the 2nd, then there's no way we beat them at the midden, so we could be looking at played 8 won nada! Do you honestly see him surviving that? Not a snowballs chance in hell!
It's my belief we beat them on the 2nd, and when we do, both our, and the tims, mindset changes. We prove we can beat them, and they know we can too - they're not this invincible super team they're made out to be.
The league is gone! Unfortunately,
the gap is too big to close, and I just don't see the rest taking points off them. We can still beat them in the 2 home games, and win the SC, and if he achieves this, he definitely deserves more time.
20 Dec 2024 20:09:50
Walter u wanted rid pc three weeks ago, what’s changed.
20 Dec 2024 20:16:55
A bit windy out tonight kinda changeable??.
20 Dec 2024 20:20:24
SS even if we were to lose if the board continue to see progress they aren't going to get rid of him for one fixture. they bought into this longer term vision and unless something dramatic happens then I down see that changing
if we win and the mindset changes then who is to say we won't win all3 remaining OFs. that brings the difference down to just 2. fairytale stuff I know but mathematically possible and I'll cling to that as long as it exists.
20 Dec 2024 20:20:40
Fair point SS, to win the SC we probably need to beat them anyway, can't see anyone take points or knock them out the cup tbh. ?.
20 Dec 2024 20:36:52
Coops, not 4 weeks ago you were one of the most vocal of the sack Clement’s brigade on here. Well done to you for having the good grace to publicly change your view.
20 Dec 2024 20:50:49
It’s not one fixture Angus mate, I think you’re a very level headed poster but if he fails and is sacked then it’s nothing to do with the game on the 2nd. It’s the fact that it’s 7 without win, that simply is not good enough. A lose on the 2nd is just the straw that broke the camels back. I once sacked a girl who had 9 periods of absence at work, she said I sacked her for having a migraine, my point was the same as this, she was sacked for the other 8 absences, not just the 9th.
20 Dec 2024 21:06:15
I stated like many on here that clement didn't seem to have a system and we didn't look like a team ?I was also criticised at the time for saying we needed to give him more time why no mention of this guys and only mention that i thought his time was up ? selective again with some regarding myself eh ? The reason i want clement to be given more time is improvement especially since he's got danilo, igamane and hagi fit and into the starting 11, that simple and the improvement is there for all to see ? What about the rest that wanted our manager gone John eh ? Have a go and question them instead of ridiculing me eh, very selective with some no doubt?.
20 Dec 2024 21:14:31
So SirWalters changed in last few weeks? maybe because so has PC? ?.
20 Dec 2024 21:36:16
Spot on Coops about getting the players back, allowing PC to show how he wants us to play moving forward, at least we are seeing improvements??.
20 Dec 2024 22:01:25
We won`t be allowed to win the OF game at Ibrox unless we put so much pressure on the SFA that we get foreign refs and VAR officials.
We should start by listing all the dodgy refereeing/ VAR decisions that have cost us goals and penalties over the last couple of seasons. If we just accept the crap from Collum and Maxwell and move on as we are being told to do nothing will change.
20 Dec 2024 22:10:56
Everything going forward needs to be called out wsl?.
20 Dec 2024 22:40:47
I wanted rid of clement since the benfica at ibrox defeat.
He seemed to have a lack of tactical knowledge and his reluctance to change formation for tougher games was imo what was going to be his downfall.
However I’ve seen massive improvement in the team’s performance and results in the last 4 weeks.
I now see what he’s trying to do, the players are now playing for him as well.
Likes of igamane and proper have upped their game recently propper especially has improved massively.
He’s got havi in the team who many will remember me going on about since he was i'm spain.
He’s a quality player and one we’re lucky to have.
All the things we could see needed to happen n be done has. So he deserves 2 transfer windows to have his own team start of next season and that’s when it’s crunch time.
He can’t be expected to beat Celtic when they’re a better team with better players people need to be realistic and accept that fact.
Give him til next season to judge him. He’s earned that as of now, onviou if we go on a disastrous run that could change back/.
20 Dec 2024 22:47:41
dado but why not sack him for loss 5 or 6. I stand by what I say the results against Celtic are one part in this but the project is bigger than that at the moment. they know there needs to be short-term hurt to get long term success. the process/ project is to get to a place where we can beat them regularly. do they start again now and what happens when the next manager loses the first 2,3 4 do we then start again. there is progress we can all see it and beating Celtic regularly will be the start of the final piece. the recruitment process is more important for the survival of the club. so I say again a defeat on 2nd won't be the end of PC as long as the board see progress.
21 Dec 2024 00:13:43
I was part of the sack pc mob a few weeks ago, the draw with utd was my last straw, however i'm woman enough to hold my hands up and say there has been a drastic change in performances and for the most part results since and whilst I'm still on the fence regarding whether or not he's the man I'd like to see take us forward, he has at least earned himself the short term opportunity to in my eyes.
21 Dec 2024 00:43:46
I’d rather we not beat Celtic this season why may use ask? If we beat them and show them we can actually be a force come the summer when they sell another one of the 5/ 6 players they possess that’ll get them 20+ million and the rest at 5 plus million they’ll then just go do what they did in the summer and make 10+ million signings the rumours are already out about tierney and no matter how many of you staunch supporters out there don’t want to believe it unfortunately there miles and miles ahead in almost every aspect. We need to keep pc build on his philosophy and start generating sales and building foundations if we can win a few cups and keep on their heels and get to somewhere relatively close we can then talk about re domination.
I was unfortunate enough to not see 9 in a row and players like Gaza ect as I was born near the end of it but do remember big ecks treble winners and Walter’s 3 in a row team but when you think about it I know everyone at the time enjoyed it but all that money spent by advocat ect was it really worth it? How many trophies did we win in that time period and see little success in Europe compared to what that mob have done the last 20 years 40 + trophies without having to spend large amounts ( mostly ) if you think about it we’ve been badly run for the best part of almost 40 years. I feel like we are turning a corner and there could be light eventually down the corridor but if it’s doesn’t come soon I don’t know if it ever will.
21 Dec 2024 06:07:42
Right Gers88 what u not telling us, u joined the susterhood???.
21 Dec 2024 07:20:42
Sacking PC if we lose OF is madness yes we’ve not beat them in however many games but the team was not capable it’s beginning to get there now but they were very far ahead and only awful decisions prevented us at the weekend taking cup and the win. He’s had so much to deal with. I believe he can build us a very strong team and once we get ahead we may stay there for a long time ???????.
21 Dec 2024 07:56:51
Let's be honest, sir Walter was just one of many who have been calling for PCs head from the kiev game to the dundee utd game. Also a good few of us on here pleading for him to be given time. I seen enough when he first came in and in European games in general to know that he's a good manager coming into a very hard job. I'm giving him time as I've said all along. I don't give a toss if we beat Celtic, if it means we have a young hungry energetic team with players we can afford but can make us money longterm . I'm as disappointed as the next man, if we lose a game but realistic to see the big picture.
21 Dec 2024 08:55:48
Oops did the mask slip a little fork? ?.
21 Dec 2024 09:21:33
Think we all wanted rid of Clement as we ran out of patience. All we needed was some sign we are heading in the right direction. Clement needs 2 more windows and next season is what should decide if we need a new manager. I think now a structure is in place and a clear plan we will keep rising.
21 Dec 2024 09:41:05
Lol or sack your typist?.
21 Dec 2024 09:58:00
The point is Bluey not everyone wanted PC sacked as it was seen that the club needed to do something different to break the cycle of hire, sack repeat which had become the norm. I. fall into the same camp as Bazbear where I want to win next OF but down see it as a dealbreaker if we don't as long as we continue to see the building of that sustainable energetic team. we need to be realistic in the short-term at least.
21 Dec 2024 10:52:50
I was at the wind up mate, had to lace it with humour before I had PTSD with coops unfathomable need to use so many emojis, keep calm, breathe, laugh, don't break the coffee table and so on ?.
21 Dec 2024 12:02:50
Goose frabah mate??.
21 Dec 2024 12:13:10
Walter u were asked a simple question, but then u turn it to folk having a dig
The simple question was and is what has changed to allow you to change your opinion
It’s very easy to say sack him, then say keep him, as u can always say you were correct
Many have answered the same question by saying, players are now fit, new players are showing they have excellent potential, the system is much better, that’s all u we’re being asked
As for we can’t afford Ballard, circa 5 million, two million down plus three payments easily affordable, as I stated his wages are less than, Davies lawrence matondo dowell tav et al.
21 Dec 2024 13:03:11
Angus
Totally agree. Long as mathematically possible live in hope. Hard road but win remaining OF were up their a@@@. Biggest problem rest of PL teams utter c@@@. And there isn't fight amongst them. Only one I see tq.
21 Dec 2024 13:30:30
its just typical of fans, live for the moment. i didn't want PC sacked, was i happy at the performances no certainly not, however i could see the bigger picture, new players not yet up to the standard we need (did i know they would, definitely not) but i knew we had to give them and the manager time. coupled with having a lot of first choice players injured and having to play many out of position what chance did anyone have. whilst disappointed this is no time for change simply because we aren't happy, PC isn't a clown as some suggest and has decent past record. in any other business the manager would discuss with the directors his plans and put milestones in place, if certain unplanned obstacles get in his way the directors take that into consideration. whilst we don't want to be second to them this overhaul will take time whether we all like it or not.
21 Dec 2024 13:31:53
and yes the other mob have millions in the bank but there is a ceiling to what/ who they can attract to scotland.
21 Dec 2024 13:42:55
Coops you said PC had no tactical nouse, had lost the dressing room and was not the man for the job. Delighted you’ve now changed horses.
21 Dec 2024 13:59:04
Goose frabah.
21 Dec 2024 14:01:08
If Celtic win the treble this season, and Rangers can't beat them once, does Clement still keep his job? What is we remain 3rd?
What we are getting now has not been good enough. It needs to get a lot better of Clement will be gone. Rangers need to beat Celtic at some point, and we need to be challenging for the title. The fact we are 3rd is unforgivable. Last season a huge amount of fans said that many were "happy clapper content to accept second best". It seems Rangers fans are now content to accept 3rd, and Celtic winning everything. That's progress? Progress from what? 4th? Is this the Twilight Zone?
21 Dec 2024 14:22:09
CHOF I have my doubts about you being a Rangers fan but know even from your name you don't like or want PC as our manager and every post you make is to ask for him to be sacked; perhaps not directly asking that question but that is the gist of them. We do need to beat Celtic at some point but I for one would rather build so we are beating them regularly than a one off. we are third as we built a team from scratch again. at some games we had 3 players from last year in the line up. everyone can now see the improvement except you it seems. it doesn't mean we accept 2nd best it means we support the club to get to that position where we aren't only challenging but winning. that may take into next season but it will come.
21 Dec 2024 14:34:04
Rangers supporters are not interested in second place, but it will take time to move out the big-money earners and the non-performers. That has started and the Board trust Clement and so I reckon he is going nowhere. As long as we see improvement, the supporters, most of them anyway, will show patience.
Once investors see that Rangers make a profit year on year, instead of a loss, the dynamic changes. The club is stable again and there is no dark underbelly. That's the way the Directors look at it and if it wasn't for them, there would be no Glasgow Rangers.
21 Dec 2024 19:26:47
I don’t think we have any reason to be hopeful of beating them on Jan 2nd . It doesn’t seem to matter whether we match or beat them in various positions on pitch . It seems that whenever PC’s team comes up against them they fail . I know we drew last yr but a draw was more useful to them than us . Too many Rangers players cannot rise to occasion they don’t seem to take the hurt we do . It isn’t PC or Boards fault . Board spent money they didn’t have trying to get another SPL title, they kept players too long and lost them for nothing . Money is done and no players available to raise money if we sell.
