On the subject of glasgow rangers captain's throughout our history here's a question for everyone on here ?Who in each one of your opinions has been the greatest rangers captain for you and the most successful rangers captain ? This should be a very good interesting topic.

Mr Rangers.
19 Dec 2024 08:11:47
Grieg an all round Captain, Gough for the success. ?.
19 Dec 2024 08:43:29
Due to my age and seeing personally, richard gough.
19 Dec 2024 08:56:29
JG surely?
19 dec 2024 09:26:11
mr grieg stands alone followed by quite a few, young caldow mcoll, shaw, shearer to name a few and of course goughy butcher and dj, and barry, but il pop in another legend in my eyes
ally dawson, who was a great man in many ways, he spent his final years coaching kids in possilpark and other schemes around glasgow
god bless him.

I remember a guy in front of me at ibrox shouting Ally Dawson we'd be better with fe****g Les Dawson.
Don't think Ally got the credit he deserved from some.

Mr rangers John greig.
19 Dec 2024 10:06:50
My auld da used to go on about Caldow and Shearer??.
19 Dec 2024 10:07:28
Never seen Greig but his legacy speaks for itself, on who I’ve seen Gough and Barry Ferguson.
19 Dec 2024 10:44:00
As TT says lots of great captains but for me it’s John Greig.
19 Dec 2024 10:50:19
JG was before my time, so I've got to say Gough. A fantastic player, leader, and a multiple trophy winning captain.
19 Dec 2024 10:52:52
John greig.
19 Dec 2024 11:35:24
Captain kirk.
19 Dec 2024 11:53:38
Klingons on your starboard bough, with that comment BB??.
19 Dec 2024 11:55:03
Any captain I've seen play has got to be between Gough or Barry Ferguson but definitely Gough for me.
19 Dec 2024 12:00:51
Barry Ferguson for me is who I grew up watching.
19 Dec 2024 12:00:53
I don’t think it’s up for debate because there is only one, Sir John Greig.
19 Dec 2024 12:03:55
Can only say about my time. Gough for me.
19 Dec 2024 12:25:35
George Young also deserves a mention.
19 Dec 2024 12:51:22
James Tavernier. He took us from the lower league to become Champions of Scotland again. He also took us to a major European final. It's a shame Ramsay missed the penalty or Tavernier would have a European trophy we would celebrate for decades to come.
19 Dec 2024 12:58:57
Tavernier did make me smile Clement cheers.
19 Dec 2024 13:08:17
It's Richard 'The lionheart' Gough for me in every way ?A total thoroughbred???.
19 Dec 2024 13:18:45
John Greig, first saw him Live at Hampden 1973 Cup Final. Being born and Bred Scotland i spent all my adult life On Tyneside. many years later my son ( 14 at Time ) had a trial at then Murray Park . HE WAS PLAYING for Wallsend Boys Club at the time . On arrival at MP I SPENT half an Hour with John in the office talking . What an absolute gentleman.
19 Dec 2024 13:27:48
In my life time Barry.
19 Dec 2024 13:40:00
I can only comment on those I have seen that goes back to Caldow! I think you have to look at what they have won and so you are looking at Gough and Ferguson.
19 Dec 2024 13:42:16
John Grieg, he had retired just as I started going so in my viewing it would be Richard Gough by a country mile.
19 Dec 2024 14:30:11
I'd love another Gough right now.
19 Dec 2024 15:14:48
Bit non question Walter, given Relative age posters and being voted greatest Ranger it's bound to be great John Greig. I'll put penny worth in say greatest JG, most successful George Young.
19 Dec 2024 15:27:33
Klingons on my starboard bough? Beam me up forkie ?.
19 Dec 2024 15:31:24
Richard Gough must be one if not the most successful glasgow rangers captain ?.
19 Dec 2024 18:26:36
John Greig Bobby shearer Richard Gough.
19 Dec 2024 21:41:26

Is when i started to properly understand football and properly start following our club

Oh how time flies ?.
19 Dec 2024 21:48:37
Has to be John Greig for me, with Richard Gough a very close second.
19 Dec 2024 22:03:12
