Before i write my main point here, let me start by saying i totally get the hurt amongst us just now, the raw hurt that 200% we should have been awarded a penalty and without question those 2 on VAR made a terrible/ gut wrenching mistake, not flagging that up to beaton, after all it's their jobs to do so. I was absolutely deflated coming away from hampden on sunday evening, deflated yet again and angry at the same time to not being the victors, once again. But here's my main point fellow bears ie. we have some of our supporters saying the cup final should be replayed, the cup final should be declared null and void because of yes this shocking mistake, well guys not for me, as we all know how bad a mistake those inept VAR officials muir and connor were, but let's put our big boy pants on, get our sleeves rolled up and get on with it. No the cup final shouldn't be replayed and no it shouldn't be declared null and void and yes it was a horrendous mistake but we have to move on from this, the cup final has gone now.

Agree9 Disagree0

We as a club are absolutely quite right to question this decision and seek answers but to state a cup final to be replayed or to be null and void is extreme and a no from myself.

On the subject of var, i watch field hockey, they use var, 1 person sitting in a room watching the game, when asked to check incidents, you can hear the the umpire / var assistant communicating, also you can see what the var assistant is doing . There are no mistakes made .

19 Dec 2024 07:41:58
Don't mean to sound a dick here SWS. But have you moved on?

19 Dec 2024 08:19:22
Tbh Coops I'd be happy if the Var team got it right, someone suggested foreign refs and var team, think that would make sense in such a high profile game, or for me the TMO system in rugby is far superior and the supporters can see and hear what's happening, Var is all too cloak and dagger for me. ?.

19 Dec 2024 08:39:48
Sir Walter, this is not just an honest mistake, this is blatant cheating, we all know who Francis Connor supports and holds a season ticket for, to say put our big boy pants on is sweeping the issue under the carpet, the two on VAR should be sacked, and not just for the penalty mistake, how many old firm games have we had a goal disallowed after the VAR team scrutinise our build up play, it is cheating and they no longer try to hide it.

19 Dec 2024 08:55:26
The result won't be overturned. They have too many officials in their back pocket.

19 Dec 2024 09:33:31
Mark have you ever seen a result get overturned because of a refereeing mistake? I think anybody thinking it would be overturned is deluded.

19 Dec 2024 09:37:08
The issue with the penalty is that all the Celtic fans are crying that Jefte should have been sent off earlier on with his tackle on Kuhn and that VAR done nothing with that as well.

VAR also did not look at the trip on Diomande before the Kuhn goal.

However, it is time to move on. Use it as fuel and motivation to go and pump them net time and get back to the Rangers way!

There clearly is not that much of a gap between Rangers and Celtic since it came down to poor refereeing/ VAR and 1 penalty kick to win a cup final.
Compared to a month ago when we all greeting about the style and tactics as least.

19 Dec 2024 09:59:53
If they had any decency they would sack the pair of them, not one for conspiracy agendas but think its becoming to frequent with us against them lately, replay never going to happen, what they going to call it the sorry cup.

19 Dec 2024 10:44:14
will be interesting to see if its captured on collums monthly var review or will they try to hide it.

19 Dec 2024 10:47:23
Fork I think the way forward is having refs and VAR miked top as in rugby as the crowd and TV audience would hear everything that was said. they still 'miss' the occasional thing but at least the process is open.

19 Dec 2024 10:54:00
Jfm, the only game i can remember being played again was a FA cup game involving Arsenal. Something to do with a throw in.

19 Dec 2024 10:56:05
Don’t believe am saying this but I agree with coops every word ?.

There has been horrendous mistakes from var since its inception. I thought it would get better but seems to get worse. I never bought into the tin foil hat carry when Celtic fans were spouting that bs so won’t the same when our fans do it.

The only problem is its glaringly obvious that mistake on Sunday and was an easy fix but as a team and fans we need to move on.

19 Dec 2024 11:32:02
Let's move on guys.

After all Ally Maxwell came out with his "pobodys nerfect" jumper on and said "oopsy daisy".

Surely that's enough for anyone, ha ha.

19 Dec 2024 11:40:29
VAR and ref comms should be open to everyone to hear, that will sort it out straight away.

19 Dec 2024 11:49:24
In the premier league you can request to hear the audio again of a past incident, can we not do that here.
It won’t change anything but if we are talking about transparency it would be good to hear what was said in the var room at the time.
If the sfa are saying mistakes can happen then let’s hear it.
Would the sfa sanction that?

19 Dec 2024 11:56:02
The match will never and should never be replayed.

We need to keep the pressure on though. Keep it in the public eye, keep it aired. The SFA, Celtic etc will want us all to move on. Nothing to see here.

As i posted the other day. they've spent decades putting implied pressure on officials, councils, committees, MPs etc. this is what we're seeing bear fruit now.

We need to fight fire with fire. Dignified silence doesn't work. Use the injustice as fuel.

#unitethekingdom.

It was Arsenal v Sheff utd Mark.
It wasn't a refereeing mistake. Sheffield put the ball out so an injured player could get treatment. Arsenal never returned the ball and in fact scored when they took the throw in.
It was replayed because Arsene Wenger offered to repay the game.

19 Dec 2024 12:54:54
For me, the TMO setup is vastly superior Angus and very transparent for all to see and hear, the SFA/ SPFL and VAR setup is as transparent as a brick wall.

19 Dec 2024 13:00:53
Can mind of that JFM and correct about Wenger.

19 Dec 2024 13:01:48
Guys, you get more penalties and concede less penalties season on season on season, despite Celtics dominance and superior goals scored record over the years. Wtf. It's a joke your club made a complaint with the track record I've mentioned.
Fair play though, Rangers played well on Sunday and I think you've a chance of creating us on 2/ 1 ( hopefully not) . I know you won't agree with this post but I wish you all a good Christmas, especially those for whom this time of year is difficult ?.

19 Dec 2024 13:17:50
Rangers and Hearts are the only two clubs not to have been awarded a penalty in the spl this season.
Celtic have 3.
Doesn't really help your point does it.
The point is cip that it shouldn't happen now that VAR is in place as it was supposed to stop the mistakes.
What part of that do you not understand.

19 Dec 2024 13:28:09
Can you imagine how much of a laughing stock we'd be if we lost a rematch? Move on and make sure the next time even a wrong call by var won't stop us winning.

19 Dec 2024 14:16:08
Cheers for the Xmas wishes Come in peace, as for the he said she said regards pens bud, sorry but shove it mate, not buying that, blatant for me, would have made a difference if the correct decision was adhered too, that aside have gd Xmas and I hope your new year is?, on the 2nd btw???.

19 Dec 2024 14:33:20
VAR was brought in to stop incidents like Sunday happening. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of anti Rangers people in charge.

19 Dec 2024 15:39:41
JFM, I note you've nothing to say on the year on year long term pattern of Rangers getting more penalties and conceding less penalties than Celtic? No wonder us Celtic fans are paranoid.
As an aside, take away his penalties and Tavpen is no better or worse than Greg Taylor.

19 Dec 2024 19:14:40
Less pens in the last 2 seasons than Ross Co and bone in the league this season. The 'penalty to Eangers' spin freely bandied about at porkheid agm's and the like has worked a treat for only one club, and that club does not play its home matches at Ibrox.
