Right, I’m not looking for personal opinions more of anyone who knows what the answer is.
Did Dessers bottle taking a pen, like literally say no. ?
Or was it PC who chose the 5 from watching players in practice. ?
What is the actuall answer to this pen situation anyone?
16 Dec 2024 22:49:05
Dessers bottled it stevie he whispered in Clement ear he was cacking it.
Seriously Clement has told us mate.
16 Dec 2024 22:58:17
Does it really matter.
I have defended him but he is clearly not the way forward. We are so much better without him.
Got me thinking, he has actually been Clements only striker for pretty much his whole tenure. It's a hard ask when you think about it.
16 Dec 2024 23:08:58
Clement chose penalty takers based on training drills,
I thought we had got to the bottom of that mate,
The match wasn’t lost on the penalty’s though IMO,
The match was in our own hands at 1-0 during the 90 when with a bit better decision making we go 2 goals ahead before Celtic score.
I’m confident Clement’s got this young group heading in the right direction though mate.
16 Dec 2024 23:26:57
The penalty takers will be decided at the time (not before the game… how could they be, how could you be sure who’d still be on the pitch? ) It will be a case of deciding amongst everyone, who feels good, who feels up for it, who’s most confident and then choosing the order. Of course there will be stick on’s such as Tav and probably Hagi. After that though it really would have been down to the players who felt most confident. Cerny, Bajrami and possibly even Igamane would have stepped up if still on but that’s the way these things go. Clement stated Dessers was down for No. 6. Of course we’ll never know if that really was the case or if he was just protecting him by saying that. But if was the case at the time that the likes of Butland’s and Ridvan both stated they felt really confident and demanded to be in the first 5 then that’s what would happen. Ridvan is a very confident character so probably really pushed to be a taker. It was just unlucky on the night, as usually is the case with penalties. No point in looking for someone to blame.
16 Dec 2024 23:27:03
Really bro? He actually told PC he didn’t want to take one?
If that’s the case he needs to leave I’m January and never play another minute for us. Period. Lovelace deserves a chance.
17 Dec 2024 00:11:28
Stevie am only having a laugh mate?.
17 Dec 2024 00:12:07
No Clement told us he decided mate.
17 Dec 2024 00:33:41
I don't blame him. Guy has lead the line as the only fit guy for a season and a half and he gets nothing but vile abuse. I can only imagine how that must make him feel never mind what would have been written if he had missed.
17 Dec 2024 06:07:27
Pathetic literally pathetic, get a grip, surprised at this from u Stevie, Star seriously grow up your being a fud.
17 Dec 2024 06:38:52
Correct about lovelace though Stevie, numpty about dessers though, Star causing trouble, no like hmm eh??.
17 Dec 2024 06:44:20
Don’t hold back fork. This defeat has been hard to take for all of us the place is going crazy.
Pens is a lottery and who ever is confident on the day takes them 1st or in our case when the manager decides.
17 Dec 2024 07:01:01
Correct Storm? lots of villages asking for idiots to get back home??.
17 Dec 2024 07:08:11
I've defended big dessers on here a lot but here's my take on it ?If you're the rangers no.9 and a penalty shootout is about to take place you're telling your manager i'm taking one gaffer, simple as that, he's a striker for god's sake/ a goalscorer ? Irrespective of this clement had him down for the 6th penalty, a rangers striker should be stepping forward and saying gaffer get me down for taking one of our five original penalties ? Like i said imagine mccoist, boyd, negri,
hateley, personally, jelavic, novo and so on ? Everyone of those strikers guaranteed would be taking a penalty for us in a penalty shootout out in the original five, no qualms about it, that's it in a nutshell guys!
17 Dec 2024 08:27:39
Listen Fork ? maybe you need to grow up and stop being a bigger fud eh because that was a joke ?.
17 Dec 2024 08:30:04
It doesn’t matter if he wants to take one or demands to take one SWS if the management team decides he’s not to take one they have to have the final say.
17 Dec 2024 08:35:05
Walter in case you don’t understand. That manager job is to manage
Players don’t dictate.
17 Dec 2024 08:37:53
Apologies Star I posted before your post enlighting us was deemed as a joke was put up, it went up after I posted, but your still a fud????.
17 Dec 2024 08:43:14
Aye nae fork the fud?, explained I only having a laugh hrs before you posted mate.
17 Dec 2024 08:43:22
Correct G4 and John??.
17 Dec 2024 08:48:20
agree John and no guarantee that any on your list SWS would be taking one. they might like Dessers possibly have been pushing to take one but PC may have said to them that they weren't either.
anyway Stevie G asked if anyone knew for definite and most of this has just been the same opinion.
17 Dec 2024 08:55:02
what is more worrying then is if it was Clements decision and he cannot choose his no.9 to take an important penalty then that says even more about Dessers. there is no defending Dessers anymore.
Dessers seems a lovely lad and i am sure he is a really good guy but he is not a good footballer/ striker.
Had we had another fit striker available for the last year then Dessers wouldn't have got so many playing minutes.
For everyones sake, it would be best if Dessers moves on in January window.
17 Dec 2024 08:58:38
Seriously bud it only went up just before 7, ask ED, I wouldn't have gave u it tight if your "it was a joke" was visible??.
17 Dec 2024 09:08:54
Cool Fort i knew you were at it anyway like normal??.
17 Dec 2024 09:09:51
If the manager chose based on penalty drills in training, does that not emphasise just how bad Dessers is, let's face it if our number 9 can't make the cut in the penalty drills then that really does show just how bad Dessers is. People wanted him to take our penalties with the aim of being a 30 plus goalscorer. Given he never made the cut, do people want to rethink that? Best for all if he is sold in January.
17 Dec 2024 09:16:00
When alls said and done in regards Dessersgate ultimately it's been clear his confidence has been poor recently so in my opinion he was a risk if he had stepped to take one.
17 Dec 2024 09:54:33
Spork is a fud My star, so don't let it get to you!
He likes to portray himself as this happy go lucky joker, but he's been sussed out. The fuds fud is nothing more than a snitching, two faced, hypocrite, who goes with the status quo in order to fit in, but he soon changes his opinion depending on what one or two on here post. Oh, and he's also a bit volatile, as clearly evident here. Do not trust him!
Have I missed anything out, Spork, mate? ??? Hope you're well, you know I jest!
17 Dec 2024 09:59:12
TBF to coops I was thinking same. The no9 should be telling the gaffer he’s taking first or last as most no9s should be a banker.
It’s then up to gaffer to decide. I can only assume Dessers didn’t fill clement with confidence atm in time.
If it’s based on training pens then it says alit more than what we have so far credited it with.
F he’s not in the top 5 on merit then he shouldn’t be rangers no9z
At least we now see progress.
2 transfer windows time we’ll have a team challenging for the title.
17 Dec 2024 10:10:20
what is really worrying is that 2 days after the final these conversations are still happening and trying to find a way to pin the tail on Dessers. whatever the reasons he didn't take one. he scored 17/ 18 in his career so he can take a penalty. PC says we have more than 5 who take a good penalty so perhaps it was because he was just on and had hardly touched the ball. remember Ramsay in EL?
17 Dec 2024 10:21:10
Angus they striker's i mentioned would have been taking a penalty pal absolutely no doubt about that ?.
17 Dec 2024 10:42:00
Can't use my patter to you the other week"the fuds fud"? yes I'm a grass, hypocritical, absolutely, yes I can be volatile, how can anyone trust me when I don't trust myself, can't be serious cause where is the fun in that, any way did u get a nice Xmas party dress sister???.
17 Dec 2024 10:51:02
And it's Mr Spork or Stakeknife to u P. O. D aka Sister aka Cloudy Meatball. N get your pinny aff when u talk to me ya blouse????.
17 Dec 2024 11:17:29
???? You never fail me, mate. "My patter"?! Hmmmmm?!
You can't have a go, and claim that's "my patter", while clearly nicking my often used "pinny" line for yourself. No, no, no, that's just not on my man! ???.
17 Dec 2024 11:36:34
Dessers basically never misses from the penalty spot. I wish he did take one. Shame Clement told him not to.
17 Dec 2024 11:45:09
The number 9 everyone speaks of has lost his place recently so could have little confidence at the moment also. John and g4 are correct managers decision no one else’s.
17 Dec 2024 11:53:10
Thought you'd get that bud????.
17 Dec 2024 12:25:37
According to Clement they picked the taking order by how they had been dong in practice and that Dessers was due to be on the next one, the 6th.
To be honest though I would have expected him to be in front of Yilmaz not just Butland. Yilmaz is hopeless at shooting and I knew he was going to miss just looking at him walking up. I definitely had more confidence in Butland than Yilmaz but would have expected Dessers to be in front of both.
Still, you never know with these things, who would have expected superstar Aaron Ramsay to miss and cost us the Europa Final .
17 Dec 2024 15:22:42
SamG, i think we all get it that you don't rate or like dessers mate ?.
17 Dec 2024 15:44:56
Dessers was brought on in extra time with the sole purpose of hitting the net. I find it strange he doesn't fancy a free shot at goal i am not having that a left back and a goalkeeper are picked before a striker to hit pens in a cup final. What clement says and reality can be 2 different things. Anyway its done now but his career at us hopefully only has few weeks left.
17 Dec 2024 16:27:35
Not everything goes to plan with a young team, especially penalty shoot-outs. It's the manager's call, but I personally agree with those that say Dessers should have stepped-up first. Mind-you, it wasn't the Europa League this time, it was only the League Cup.
