King I can't say I am fussed either way but I hate 'I told you so' posts and no matter if you try to dress it up differently it is just that. So let's imagine a front 2 who scored 53 goals between them last year. ability is permanent and form is temporary. bad players don't score 53 goals between them no matter again what people's opinions of them are. by the sound of thinks Shankland is still playing well but couldn't buy a goal. he will start scoring again. as I say not fussed as I will accept what the competent people who buy for us think but him being out of form doesn't make him a bad player.

King - bit of a nonsensical comment eh?hopefully you would back him if he ever signed for us - remember he has scored more against the Jungle Jims than any of our strikers - ie 6 goals in 9 games - that's not too shabby - wish we had striker who could do that.

I'll be very surprised if Shankland is ever a Rangers player, simple not good enough, Danilo Igamane Lovelace and cf signed when Dessers get sold in January.

I was on the fence with Shankland i don't think he's got a lot of pace but I think given the chances we create that dessers misses u think Shankland would have a very good conversion rate for us. But not fussed either way.

He isn’t even scoring penalties anymore to boost his goals tally.
And he’s had more poor seasons at the top level than good ones.
If a club offered you a striker on a freebie to compete with Dessers, Danilo, Igamane who had only scored 1 goal in 19 this season, would you bite their hand off?
Especially a 29 year old who will be looking for one final large pay day?

Shankland holds the ball up and can link the play so much better than dessers so out of the 2 I'd have shankland.

Agree with Angus he’s going thru a bad spell since start of season, Dessers constantly on a bad spell.
We are probably now going to go with Igmane up front and that tells it all, raw promising striker preferred to an experienced striker that cost nearly 5 million.
Need to get Dessers away in January and try and get someone in who is a target man.

Not a big fan of Shankland but if it were a choice between him and Dessers I would take Shankland every time. We know he is struggling for form at the moment but was also know that at his best he is capable of 30 goals a season and we know that at his best Dessers isn`t. Shankland may not be any pacier than Dessers but he is better in the air, more physical and better at linking play that Dessers.
I am glad we didn`t pay £4 million for him last season but if we had the chance to bring him in for a reasonable fee and sell Dessers in January then I would do it and use any profit to strengthen elsewhere . We wouldn`t be any worse off and coming to the club he supports may give Shankland the boost he needs.

So Angus going by your reply to my post your saying dessers is a good player, he's just out of form? I'm just curious to why if shankland is a good player why is he still at the mighty hearts? There's a reason why rangers or them haven't picked him up or even a championship team or league 1 team down south haven't.
