Got talking how good motherwell young midfielder lennon miller is today threw up a question i'll share with one and all on here ?I was asked actually by a celtic fan who was the the better young midfielder and who would i choose if i could only choose one between barry ferguson, billy gilmour and young motherwell midfielder lennon miller ? Thoughts on this fellow bears ?For the record i chose barry ferguson, as i was a massive fan of his as for me he was an outstanding midfielder ???b.

Sorry Sir Walter don’t think there is any doubt, Gilmour and Lennon couldn’t lace Barry’s boots.
Here is another question that might make it clearer, would Gilmour get into Advocaats midfield with the likes of Van Bronkhorst, Reina, Albertz and Tugay, answer no!

I think Lennon Miller is being vastly over rated. Yes he's 18 and Scottish and has loads of potential but nowhere near the level of Ferguson or Gilmour. I wouldn't pay anymore than 2.5 million and that's overpaying imo. He's being made out to be this incredible footballer when he's achieved nothing yet and it's still too early in his career to put him amongst such players.

Barry Ferguson all day long over Gilmour and Miller at the moment although who knows how good he will be. Ferguson could so it all, win the ball and dictate play and get forward create and score goals. He was the complete midfield player and to hold down a place in the midfield of that team he played in is a testimony to how good he was.

Wasn’t Fergusons biggest fan tbh but out of those 3. He would definitely be the pick.
They all have great technical ability but Ferguson had a bit of metal to him as well.

I’m a fan of the famous, and would not by any means say I have technical knowledge about the intricacies of football, formations and playing styles. I have read a wee while back that a Motherwell stalwart of many many years and the impression given was a well respected scout back in the day. Is of the opinion that Lennon Miller is a once in a generation player who is head and shoulders the best player they have had since Cooper and has the ability to become a legend of Scottish football.
If this is the case then I feel we should be pulling all the stops out to get him to Ibrox.

Millar is every bit as good as Fergie was at 18. Fergie turned out top notch. Only time will tell for Millar.

3 are all very different players. Fergie all day for me. but Miller has all the attributes to be very good player and Gilmour is an exceptional player at club and international level.

Correct slim Jim, clearly folk that are saying Ferguson are talking about him at his full potential and certainly not at 18 year old because their is nothing in it at a similar age and Miller will have a great career better than Ferguson that can only be told in 15 years.

My star Barry Ferguson was a right good player at 18, only reason he never broke thru first team was cause Walter was the manager and preferred the experience of McCall and Ferguson, Advocaat saw enough of watching footage of Barry in reserve games to build his midfield around him. I’ve not saw a great deal of the boy Lennon but from what I have saw he has a bit to go to be close to Barry in ability even at 18.

Rosevale one thing I'm sure about is he will go as far as Ferguson did in his career in my opinion and it wouldn't surprise me if he's with the big boys later in his career, the best cm that has came out of Scotland since Ferguson in my opinion, levels up from Lewis Ferguson at similar age and look at him now, can't really remember what John Mcginn was like at 18 but if he was as good as Miller is at that age I'd remember about it.

I've worked with Miller and I've said before that he's the best young player I've coached.
That said, pretty much every coach I know who has worked with both Miller and Gilmour have said that Gilmour was miles ahead of Miller at his age.
