Another clean sheet.
Another 3 points.
Hagi deserved to be sent off. Though his ball for Cerny's second was a touch of quality.
A game where we dominated but still offered St Johnstone a couple of chances.
Souttar and Propper, for me are getting better as a partnership game by game.
Butland should not be getting beat at his near post even though Clark's goal was disallowed for offside.
The 2 FB's were fine with Jefte at least proving a threat down the left.
Tav wasted 2 freekicks in decent areas where others could have took their chance.
Raskin who I like was very good in the middle. A fit Raskin is a huge asset to the team.
Dio for me is a strange one. You can see he has ability in flashes but for whatever reason it just isn't working for him just now.
Cerny produced the goods. A goalscoring winger. His first was outstanding.
Dessers was non-existent.
McCausland had more fouls than quality touches.
Kasanwirjo gets better and better every time I see him.

I agree with the majority of your post, MPH, and just about summed up last night perfectly. However, the one bit I'm struggling to agree with is the part about Propper. For me, the guy looks really weak in one on one situations, and needs to be stronger. The way that young lad eased him off the ball was alarming, and it wasn't his only mistake.
Souttar was solid last night, and because his performances have went up a notch, I feel that he's covering Propper's mistakes. If I was PC, I'd be playing Souttar and Balogun as they are our 2 best defenders.

McCausland made same foul 3 times. Really bad. Kasa looks a far better option than tav.

I've felt Propper has been fairly solid so far. He got out muscled that once but apart from that I thought he played well. Seems to have good intelligence of when to push out and when to drop back. I'd say he's been better than last seasons Goldson at least.

Sunshine he was pushed off ball but he also managed to get in ahead of the player when the Ball was played into feet about 4 or 5 times in the first 20 minutes. He isn't perfect by far but he and Souttar seem to blend reasonably well. 5 clean sheets in 7 league games is a start i'd say.
Balogun is good but can't play all of the games we have at the moment so what would you suggest on a balance. defenders make mistakes especially t th level we are at Balogun included.
I thought he seemed to be caught a bit up field at times and Souttar had to cover which was my worry but Soots was superb in doing that last night.

Welcome back Paul??.

I'll disagree with you on Propper and to an extent Souttar, Sunshine.
For me, and this is going to sound stupid but bear with me, Souttar has went up a notch as a CH when:-
1/ he has been moved to his preferred position - RCH
2/ he has concentrated on defending. He very rarely attempts the long diagonals anymore. He's more inclined to pass to Propper for him to play out from the back.
And that's what I like about Propper. His first instinct is to play it forward.
And that's why I think they are forming a decent partnership - which remember is still in it's infancy.
Souttar is reliable and solid when he concentrates solely with the defensive side and Propper gets the moves started from the back.
The thing to ask is would you have Goldson before Souttar at RCH? I definitely wouldn't.
And would you therefore have Souttar at LCH before Propper? I wouldn't.
Played in their preferred positions they are pretty solid.

Paul is the same fun not trying to press the FB who just stops takes minimal contact and goes to ground. frustratingly ref always Gove a free kick for that. most forward players do it when they are closing fast; defenders know it so just stop. young keen lad who might learn not to press to close eventually and force defender to play out of that position. better and more experienced forwards get caught with it as well.

Good read guys I turned off at ht as I was bored out my mind can’t remember last time I turned a game off for a reason like that tho I was close to it against Hibs.
We are absolutely dreadful to watch.
I was up early for work so just went to my bed instead of watching 2nd half.

Storm we are a pre SG team now. I was asked what changes I would have made against Celtic. Barron and Raskin in the middle. Dio will lose us cash as will Cortes and I expect Proper.
07 Oct 2024 13:06:35
I just love the hindsight, Tav wasted two free kicks that someone else could have done better, yeah well I`m sure if that someone could have guaranteed he would do better then Tav would have left it to him. If he had scored, nothing said, but that the thing is you don`t know until you hit it and the first one was close. Who else was going to take it? Barron and Hagi weren`t on and Lawrence wasn`t playing so probably Cerny who was lacking confidence until he scored.
Windy, Cortes is a loan player and we don`t need to buy him unless he plays 70% of games so we might not buy him and I don`t honestly think Propper was bought with a view to selling him on at a profit, although I agree he has been dreadful up to now . Personally don`t care if he is good at passing if he can`t defend, which is his main job in the team.

Paul were talking about you last week mate, take it no signal where you were.

That's why I said welcome back star?.

Good to see you back Paul ?.

McCausland wasted on the left wing, get so much more out the kid on the right.

wsl tend to agree with everything you write and this isn't a but just to add to what you say. I think Propper was bought as he was a leader and one of the top players at Twente and we needed that with a young team He is good at bringing ball from defence which in most league games is what we need a CB to do as it helps against a low block. So the bigger part of his game there will be passing.
He can be a little dodgy at times defensively but last night thought he stepped in well for first 20 minutes but later was a little less so although the only issue was when he fell over. If Tav had scored the two free kicks it would be well that is just what he does.
