Said last week in a post we might yet see Hagi back in the first team. Looks like it's getting sorted finally and we will indeed see him back in the first team. Let's hope he can do something when he's back.

PC said now that he was not with the first team due to a contract situation. Until now he implied that he is not good enough. It seems to me that Clement had some issues with Genk, where he played and coached. He did not want them to get the extra 1.4 mil due to Hagi playing another game. It is a possibility that Hagi accepted a major reduction in salary to offset this payment - just a supposition.
Happy that Ianis is back!

Believe that to be nonsense soccerfan, Rangers would not be wanting to spend another 1.5m on him,600k wages plus 1.5m, we could get a better player than Hagi for that 2.1m, Hagi has a point to prove if he's ever going to cut it at a high level, need to be remember he wanted out and told his agent that, Hagi has played a couple of good games for Rangers, over 90 games as a very average player, who in my opinion is not good enough for regular starts, a player that suddenly got better when injured, he'll need to raise his game for any praise from me.

I don’t think the reason hagi hasn’t been playing is because clement has issues with genk.
02 Oct 2024 15:07:19
Soccerfan, forgot to ask when has Clement ever said he wasn't good enough? I've clearly missed him saying that.
02 Oct 2024 15:09:39
If he really has ambitions to play at a higher level, then he'll have to up his game now to attract attention. We wait and see what happens!
02 Oct 2024 15:31:33
No doubt Hagi will do a turn for us, but i don't think he will be a stuck on starter. We need better than him and i guess that's what recruitment will be looking at.
02 Oct 2024 15:32:43
I have to agree star. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
02 Oct 2024 15:59:30
now the Hagi chat can stop i pray. The lad wanted out and no one wanted him. end of.
02 Oct 2024 16:30:20
Don’t know the reason why Hagi wasn’t playing, but will not invent a story to make it sound as if I do.
02 Oct 2024 16:37:07
My star, I agree and it will be interesting when he does get games as to what is said on here. Clement never said he wasn't good enough, soccer fan. He said he only wanted to work with players who wanted to be there. Same as with Cantwell.
People have been moaning about paying his wages and him being in the B team and Hagi has most recently said he wants to play, so an agreement has been made to allow that to happen. Who even knows what the contract says and if Genk are due money.
02 Oct 2024 18:01:13
Soccer fan the club are not allowing a personal grievance PC may have to dictate how he deals with an asset millions, it seems more likely the club have renegotiated a deal by previous dof and that's why he's back in the fold.
02 Oct 2024 19:07:15
Correct ally.
I hope hagi proves me wrong and come back and is excellent as it will benefit the team.
02 Oct 2024 19:50:26
Everyone hopes that storm.
02 Oct 2024 20:04:43
I think a lot on here have short memories regarding Hagi, very average player, Time for him to show that he has it, time to stop all the nonsense he has been saying, he now has chance to make himself a first pick at same time put himself in shop window so he gets move he wants, either way he will be of by January. Club just trying to create interest.
02 Oct 2024 20:32:23
might not be until after next international break when we see him as PC said something about him not being ready; that might not be exactly what he said.
02 Oct 2024 21:05:39
Hagi ability is good enough to compete with what we have, end of. He’s not top class, he’s not miles off what’s out there. He is something different though and who knows how well he can link up when we have pace back on the wing. Downfall of course is it’s another player that lacks pace.
02 Oct 2024 21:39:45
Sorry can I just add to this again.
Did I read correctly PC “Apparently” said due to player pressure Hagi is coming back into the fold?
So has a few of the squad approached PC or the club and said we think Hagi should be brought in from the cold?
02 Oct 2024 21:39:50
Any bets on how long it takes for a post saying he’s no pace and not good enough?.
02 Oct 2024 22:07:15
Leadership team apparently and think Sterling is part of it now, read it somewhere earlier.
02 Oct 2024 22:46:10
Alloa he has no pace though, he'll need to play well or he'll not be good enough.
03 Oct 2024 06:50:46
Mystar - Lawrence is not exactly blessed with blistering pace and can usually only last 70mins or so - so surely having the lad back will dovetail this position at least in the short term- personally am glad to have him back to hopefully add something to the team/ squad - time will tell but when he pulls on that jersey he has my support.
03 Oct 2024 08:36:06
My star I think we can safely say he won't be good enough for at least a portion of the fans before he even kicks a ball. It's all about options and these are almost always split. some still think Butland is poor. personally think his distribution could be better but still a very good keeper.
03 Oct 2024 08:44:11
why does everyone now think blistering pace is a prerequisite of being a good footballer. Is it down to Maeda because if it is then in response I'll raise you Matondo.
There have been many great players who haven't had blistering pace (Zidane, Madrid, Eriksen, Cantona, Hagi snr) what these players lacked in speed of foot they made up with in speed of brain. By no means putting Lawrence and Hagi in that category. Lawrence went past 2-3 players on Saturday into the space to shoot not because of his foot pace but because of his speed of thought. he was there before they realised what he was going to do.
Blue Floyd you are right though in that after a few seasons of injury Lawrence can only manage 70 or so minutes of that intensity so it might be good to have another natural no10 to bring on rather than moving others into less natural positions. Kara brought on Saturday to push Tav into midfield (? ) .
03 Oct 2024 09:56:32
Agree about Lawrence but he seems to be rattling up the 90 mins, think he has played more this season than any other, Cannot see Hagi starting a game, he to slow for the wings and third choice for no10 a hope he proves me wrong tho.
03 Oct 2024 09:57:57
Angus he certainly hasn't got any pace about him, Hagi has never been a good Rangers player in my opinion, he had a couple of good games but mostly very average, many will say he isn't good enough but they are not saying anything that isn't true, but he'll get another chance with me but he'll really need to kick on to get any praise from me, I simply do not rate him as a footballer, that can on change with him performing, but I really have my doubts, only going of seeing it a couple of games out of nearly 100.
Blue-floyd what has Lawrence pace got to do with Hagi having none?
03 Oct 2024 10:12:44
Angus if Hagi had more pace he'd be a far better player, Hagi has snales pace mate and it certainly does effect his game, just a tad faster makes him better .
03 Oct 2024 11:36:55
Maybe wrong saying i don't rate, but i certainly don't rate him highly enough for wearing a Rangers jersey, hopefully he can change my opinion but i really have my doubts.
03 Oct 2024 12:35:56
If Hagi had pace to go with his outstanding talent on the ball, he likely would never have played for us because he would have had a career in bigger leagues than ours. Let's see what the boy brings before we start to criticise him.
03 Oct 2024 14:14:57
Blue-Floyd, anyone putting on that Jersey will always have my support.
