Tom lawrence is in the last year of his original 3 year contract, he signed with rangers in 2022.what's our thoughts ?, will he be offered a new contract, to stay beyond 2025 with us ?.

surprised if he sent because PC was chatting about losing players for nothing at the end of their contract. perhaps going to sell in January or even waiting until he proves long-term fitness and see how he performs. do I think he deserves a new contract; probably not at the moment but he has started scoring goals. 29 isn't he and the team does still need some older more experienced players.

As well as he’s playing right now I wouldn’t offer him a new contract. The model would be move Bajrami into the 10, find a younger player that has potential and hunger to push him.
Of the 2 years or so Lawrence has been here he’s been far too injury prone and has only been performing about 10% of the time and the key factor, cannot do it against Celtic.

John mentioned a years extension in the pipeline a week or so ago, I'd give him it, but he may be sold as all have a price.

While on the subject of tom lawrence possibly signing a contract extension to stay with rangers, does anyone know anymore if big john souttar has/ is signing a contract extension with us ?We all know clement rates big soapy and i'm sure it was John that posted on here several weeks ago, that souttar was signing a contract extension with us ?I haven't heard anything more if he's signed an extension or not ?.

We cannot offer Tom Lawrence an extension, he’s had a couple of half decent games and a couple of goals but he’s not going to get quicker or better.
We thank him and say good bye invest his wages in someone younger.

I think he warrants an extension. Don't think he was injured too much b4 coming to us so he's just been a tad unlucky, like so many of our players. If he gets another year and delivers in Europe, then we get more money if we do sell. He's certainly got something and one of our few goal scoring midfielders, which is essential.

The time to sell him will be in January if he's scoring goals and in decent form. He can be a liability against better opposition as his legs have gone and he can't close down and press effectively at no10. Better getting some money while he splaying well and still rated at Championship level. We need younger midfielders like Lyle Cameron or Lennon Miller or any gems Nils Koppen can find.

Its a difficult one, he is one of the higher wage earners and really unless he has a cracking season he hasn`t really done enough to earn an extension, age and fitness being a consideration too . However do we want to lose another player for absolutely nothing or do we just consider that he has no resale value anyway .

John that's my reason why he'll sign another contract unless sold in January, but Lawrence has been a far better player for us than he's previously been, his fitness is key.
