As a fan, i've accepted that as a squad we are miles ATM behind that other mob and performances like the last 2 where 1 is so good and the other not so will happen mainly because the lack of quality in depth and inexperience of our a
Squad.
What we as fans need to do is stick with the manager and team because the alternative is more of the same and no manager could come in and wave a magic wand because we don't have the money to rip it up and start again.
We have seen signs of improvement almost being the most positive performance, so patience is needed by us all and we will slowly get to a stage where we are genuine contenders.
30 Sep 2024 09:54:10
Agreed, we are a fair bit behind them and was a bad performance yesterday but I will give them a pass on it as for the turn around from euro game a bit of a joke, it could of been worse and if we had dropped points we would of been on here saying good teams get the points on a bad day, will be a few more of these performances along the way but as long as we see improvements in other games and can see we can go up gears is the main thing just now.

Firstly, i'm NOT saying to sack the manager. But why should fans stick by a manager whose tactics do not work?
Surely if another manager was to come in with his own tactics and style, then it would change things?
30 Sep 2024 10:25:08
Ally, who says the tactics don’t work? We’ve won the last 4 games without conceding a goal? Pretty sure every single fan of any club in the world would take those kind of stats before a ball was kicked. Onewalter is 100% spot on and I’ve said the same numerous times.
30 Sep 2024 10:30:26
OWS great post and very sensible approach
@Ally that is exactly what you are saying though isn't it to bring in a new manager who would play differently as you don't think it works. He would however have the squad that PC is building to play the style he wants. so no bringing in a new manager wouldn't necessarily change things immediately and fans would then be saying they don't like that style and wanting a new manager. recognise there is improvement and that these things take time.
do you think the tactics worked against Malmo and Ross County?
30 Sep 2024 11:08:12
3pts was the main objective and it’s very difficult playing a European game on a Thursday night and then on a Sunday ( noon KO )
Squad rotation is not easy at the best of times, and more so with so many new players.
Agree patience is required.

Not wanting manager sacked but another manager would do better?
We have lost 2 times this season. Yesterday was poor, but we won. Everyone here was waxing lyrical about midweek (though we all wanted more goals) . Tactics spot on. Fast forward 3 days and all is doom and gloom, PC appears to have no tactical acumen.
We are a team in transition and will have these growing pains. Every time there is a change the manager question the only thing you can guarantee here is that we all disagree who we would like to see as manager…fantastic swashbuckling performances resulting in winning all games and strolling to the league title are sadly some time away. So for now I will settle with winning ugly, regularly and seeing the likes of Jefte, Barron, Diomande et all improve as the season progresses.

How can you say his tactics don`t work? Since the OF game we have played 4 games and won them all without conceding a goal and even before that the only team to beat us, was Kyiv at Hampden when we were down to 10 men. He is rebuilding the team and whether you love or hate the players that left, he lost a lot of experienced Rangers players and is having to bed in new players most of whom have cost very little due to financial constraints. These constraints showed up again when we 5 had players injured and we are having to include two youngsters on the bench just to make up the required numbers. He is doing far better than any other manager we have had under the circumstances, since Sir Walter and even he would have had difficulty getting much more out of this squad, though I` m pretty sure he would have been as pragmatic and set up a team to win regardless of the style at times.

The point about being miles behind them atm is probably valid but I keep thinking about the cup final last season where we by all accounts were the better team and matched them all over the park, we certainly were not behind them on that day. They also had their strongest team on the park. Was that just a one off or do questions need to be asked about the manager motivating our players on a weekly basis. Any way you spin it yesterday was awful too many players just going through the montions. I thought wee Raskin was going to be the business but he now looks as if he'd be rather any where else, whatever we think about their manager he gets everyone of them to play full out for the Jersey we don't seem to have that.
30 Sep 2024 12:13:33
Everybody has made well thought out and valid points on the team and the manager. Tbh I was expecting more from the guys following a top Euro performance on Thursday. As one of you guys has said, the reason for the performance may be the timings of the matches, tiredness etc. All we can do is stick with the process and see where it takes us.
30 Sep 2024 12:15:45
BT anyone can win a one off game but it’s harder to compete over a course of the season when they are stronger.
30 Sep 2024 12:29:07
BT the cup final is a one off game, just because we were close to them in that game doesn’t mean we aren’t miles off overall. There’s still a lot of catching up to do but since we played them 4 wins and 4 clean sheets out of 4 is definitely going in the right direction.
30 Sep 2024 12:58:32
I think the fact we matched them in a cup final is important. every OF game could be considered a one off game. what matching them over a season means is just that: we will find it difficult with our squad to win every other game. if we treat every game against them as a cup final then who knows. we will both lose games as their form is difficult to maintain. let's see how they do after a defeat in Europe followed by an early kick off.
30 Sep 2024 13:03:05
We have 2 windows to get it right and take the league back from them next season. They'll have a bigger turnover next summer. Players will want to move on to bigger leagues. Brenda too maybe. I feel Brenda might even leave again for prem come February if they are out of Europe. This is the reality. We need to use our funds incredibly well. I believe.
30 Sep 2024 13:39:21
There's desperate posts, then there's yours, Rabbi! Nope, your post is wishful thinking nothing more. The 'reality' as you posted, is where we are as a team and club. Wake up and live in the real world instead of this fantasy realm you wish for.
30 Sep 2024 13:50:08
Why would that be important, Angus? Around 6-7 players that started or played a part aren't at our club anymore, so how you get a gauge of that I'm not sure mate. Tbh matching them does absolutely nothing when you get beat and they're just about to match us in titles.
30 Sep 2024 15:50:56
BB4 really just too show we can match them, although we got beaten. As storm says anyone can win a one off game so if we treat the games against them as cup finals then perhaps we have a chance to beat them next time, with our new squad. If we can get points off them on individual games we won more against the rest last season so we might just might get closer whilst we are building a squad. hopeful I know but that is what a supporter is ever hopeful.
30 Sep 2024 15:52:03
It is also a mentality thing and losing those 6-7 players might be a good thing as the new squad have little baggage. one good result against them can change the dynamics.

Posters who are looking for Clement to be a sacked?
Perpetual cycle……. if they sacked him we are back to square one -
1. Little money to spend
2. Players that the new manager doesn’t want, new players required.
3. New tactics
4. New backroom staff required
5. Huge amount of money to be paid to Clement and his back room staff.
As we all know there are still players to move on, if Barron, Lefte, Dioamande, Bajrami and Kasanwirjo are examples of new players, let’s wait and see. Before someone says it Cerny hasn’t set the heather on fire.
30 Sep 2024 19:11:07
Angus I think the players might have been feeling that way coming into the new season, but that 3-0 really set us back mate. I came into this first old firm thinking we did outplay them last time out, quite hopeful, but that result knocked the stuffing out me tbh. I just hope pc is a good motivator as the boys would have needed it after that. It might not be pretty but he is getting results.
30 Sep 2024 20:29:28
don't disagree BB4 although I probably was looking for a good performance and perhaps pinching a draw. although we were well outplayed we still had chances when we didn't play well, or at least weren't allowed to play well.
Might be he sets up next time more defensively like he did in cup. results matter at the moment to build confidence, pretty can come later.
30 Sep 2024 20:41:42
BT it was the current manager who managed the team in the cup final but what has changed is the squad which was broken up immediately after the cup final. The manager is building a new team and winning while he`s doing it.
