See the Tav situation it's always a no win for long serving players like him if he left when we won the league and playing well he would have been a money grabber or traitor fans would have moaned about him in someway but he's stayed now fans moan he's past it too slow either way fans would have got upset with him yes he been poor but let's not forget he's been a great servant to our club over the years and he doesn't pick the team if Clement picks him to play he plays never shys away it's not his choice to play every game but as captain he has to set an example glad he got that standing ovation on Saturday aswel.

If butland didn't bail him out we would be talking about another error on his part. Personally thought he did well aside from that but its always going to be part of his game lapses in concentration and making errors. Stay tuned for tav does the funniest things on thursday ?.

100% the level of witch-hunt for a player who has given us so much is disgraceful to me. If it wasn’t for him we’d never have got to Seville and would be in a far worse place than we are now. Short term memories from far too many people.

Past success doesn't count for today's transgression, he was gd but is on the slide, celebrate success when it happens, not when he's being mediocre, he was a great player, not so much now.

David Tavernier has been a great signing for us, nobody is going to deny that, but we can see for ourselves that Tavernier is going back the way.

No sentiment in football - it holds you back.

Yes he's been a great servant but every time he plays a huge part in our rivals scoring against us, is that what you think at least he's been a great servant? Or do you think not again! how many times is this going to happen? It's not a witch hunt at all, it's simply a player well past his best, probably highest paid player at our club. The blind pass into that area was school boy stuff. Love tav but his time is up I'm afraid.

agree davidb. He had a good game, set up one, scored one and made the error of the no look back pass which Butland got to first. tell me any other player on the pitch who didn't make mistake. I remember Butland passing the ball straight into touch. I can see Tav's errors and he is frustrating in trying passes which don't reach the intended target. we also want our full backs to play further forward so they will always get caught up field. this isn't a problem in general except against Celtic and Maeda. sox we need to find a solution for that game and that might be someone other than Tav but he gives more in other games than the down side.

Angus easy solution mate, Sterling at rb everytime we meet them, done good at lb against them twice, both their wide right players done nothing in both games.

Tav is without doubt are best servant we have at our club . If we cannot see reason to acknowledge that, the least he deserves is to not be ridiculed, shouted at at matches or abused on social media . It gives a poor impression of Rangers supporters if new players hear a club icon badly treated.

BigDado, if Butland didn't bail him out we would be talking about another error on his part, well he did bail him out and yet we are still talking about an error on his part. If Tav hadn't volleyed in the low shot that Dessers scored to put us a goal up would, we have been talking about Dessers hitting the keeper with the first attempt. Every game is full of ifs, and players bailing out their team mates but Tav seems to be the only players whose mistakes are highlighted and his positive stuff ignored.

Happy for him to be at Rangers but very unhappy he is still captain. His body language on the pitch is very negative and almost down trodden. We need someone positive that’s going to get the players fired up. Defend our case with refs and if need be to the dirty side of the game. Tav doesn’t do any of that.

23 Sep 2024 16:13:45
Yes he has regressed and I’m sure rangers fans slagging him from pillar to post will help him regain form and confidence. As SM said it’s not his fault he’s been played every game and unlike many others over the years he’s always available. Put Sterling right back for the start of the season like we have done Tav and he’d be out injured by now. Why are we so quick to put down our own? A goal an assist and a clean sheet and you’d think he’d scored 10 own goals in the past few weeks the way some people are going at him.

Tav isn’t good enough anymore a blind man can see time for him to go.

23 Sep 2024 17:29:57
@My star you might have the solution in playing someone who just has to defend in OF. whether that is Sterling or not I will leave it to PC. for other games our defence only defend for 20-30% so we need to have attacking FBs.
wsl and davidb that is exactly my point in every thread. there seems to be a need to pick on one player, who will be next?

23 Sep 2024 18:30:05
Angus if that happens and he doesn't play against them fans will go far easier on Tavernier, but he's still not the player he was a couple of seasons ago mate.

23 Sep 2024 20:59:50
I think we'll start to see more of Kasanwirjo at RB, hopefully he'll be first choice come the next old firm match.

23 Sep 2024 23:01:39
wsl he does good work attacking but that's part of the problem leaves us constantly exposed and I've had enough of it. Seen it for too long and seen celtic rip him apart too many times to even care about his goal scoring against the dross anymore. Because the next big game against better opposition, he's the weakness and targetted. No rangers captain should be a weakness. he's being highlighted more because his daft mate goldson is away and BB.
