An insight on Mr John Halstead the American investor who put money in our club in August 2023. He is an astute businessman and a very wealth man a billionaire in fact. He made his fortune through Pamplona Capital partners and his close friend and Co-founder Alexander Knaster has went on to purchase a 75% stake in Italian Serie B side Pisa.
They currently sit 3rd in Serie B. Mr Knaster is also a shareholder and board member in Eagle holding’s who own Lyon, Crystal Palace, Botafogo, RWD Molenbeek and FC Florida. With the ongoing troubles in the boardroom at Rangers I believe John Halstead will make a move very soon. With regards to Dave King he is playing his hand out in public and I personally believe his interest is to sell his share’s rather than return as chairman. That may happen sooner rather than later.

Getting a very wealthy Rangers supporter in charge would be the dream scenario, and not unlike our friends across the city. Just hope if he has to spend money buying out the likes of King that he still has funds to invest in the team as that money wouldn`t go to the club. We need someone who sees the team as a way to C. L money by being good enough to win and dominate again in Scotland . To be honest the other mob aren`t that good and unless they were prepared to invest heavily too it shouldn`t be impossible to put a side together to beat them.

I think a wealthy investor investing in Rangers is very likely in the short term at least, to concentrate in investing his money money in the club . He is unlikely to buy out King who is still looking to get a premium on his shares.

I wish people would stop saying Celtic are not that good. The reality is they were the better team last season. They thumped us every time we played them, and OF ties generally decide the league. The last gasp Matondo goal to draw was our only joy last season. They also had a poor season last season just going by the fact we were still in it with a month to go. I also think their keeper was their weakest link and they have improved this summer by bringing in Schmiechel (sp? ) . We have gotten younger but less experienced and the gap is wider than last year. But there is potential for growth in the team, where i felt we were stagnant for last few seasons. our loan players provided the most potential last season and they're gone. They have also had a great start to the season, averaging 3 goals for and none against through the first 5. they've also posted a profit, gotten champions league money and I am sure they are stock piling a little bit of money to splurge when we get back to even terms with them on the pitch. It is going to be a tough road and saying things like they're not that good right now creates a false narrative that leads to all the angst every time we drop points against them. The gap is as wide as it has ever been.

We have to face facts, at this time it is easier for them to hold the initiative. Every thing in their garden looks rosy, everything is positive, young players are actually looking to sign for them, as they are on a winning run and appear to be in the money .
Our picture is the opposite, we aren’t winning enough titles, we appear to be trading with our last £ and no one thinks we are a fun place to be at, nor are we playing before. a happy crowd .
But that can all change, beat them a couple of times and string together a run of SPL wins will knock the confidence out of them and panic could step in . All of a sudden we would have upper hand again .

Sure they have a far more settled team but I keep thinking about the cup final last May where we matched them all over the park and IMO we were the better team, if Simas goal had stood we were well on our way to win the cup and that's even with Davis, Silva and Cantwell in the team. If our manager can get a young strong fit group on the park why can't we beat them at Ibrox or Hampde n.

We already have rich people on the board, Wooldhart and Gibson, if they are not on the board then they are shareholders, point is we are not doing that well financially at the moment so how do we know it would be different with Halstead.

I never said that they aren`t better than us at the moment, after last weeks thrashing that would be a daft statement. Last season there wasn`t much between the teams in any of the games they got the breaks and we didn`t. We had goals strangely ruled out at important times, we had a penalty weirdly not allowed and of course we shot ourselves in the foot by getting players sent off at the piggery. Our keeper also sold the cup final There was never anymore than one goal between the teams in any of the games so they hardly thumped us. They have money but they won`t spend it despite pressure from their fans, they feel they don`t need to, to beat us but they are not a great team, their record in Scotland looks great because the teams here are currently so poor, unfortunately including us. They still play guys like Scales, Taylor and Forrest who are bang average but good enough to win here . With investment, they are catchable .

So you're saying with the right investment we can close the gap this season? Two transfer windows? Three? Four? People are talking like we just need to drop a few million in January and we will be right there with them.
They spent £60 million this summer according to the bbc while we are want to cut wages further and are desperate not to play one of our players for fear of triggering more expenditure.
We all know the team isn’t strong enough, and it’s going to take a few years. Even if we get up to speed by next year. Celtic will spend money to try and stay ahead of us. It’s not a manager thing it’s players ability and desire to win and their mentality and skill is better overall. I think Beale and whomever recruited last seasons new players should be blasted because it really has been a big setback.

Edit. According to BBC Celtic has spent £68 million on players including £30 million this past window.
