How did the new guys get on today?

Thought they all did well, we have unearthed a gem in Igamane. Bajrami is decent, and the signing of Barron is a masterstroke. Few more like this and we would be able to beat Celtic so really Clement is on the right track despite having virtually no transfer money.

We spent a good bit tbh.

Excited about Igamane and so is everyone else by the sounds of it.

Igamane was a real find yesterday, the DU players just bounced off him, I hope he can settle in fully and be the CF we've needed.

Our net spend was the highest in the league, albeit offset with reducing the wage bill.

Yes, I think igamane will prove to be an inspired signing. But like Morelos but younger and without a petulant attitude. I'm excited to see him progress.

For me our new players did well. Igamane and Bajrami showed good touches and link up.
Good to see Cortez back (though some of his choices were erratic) . Unfortunately Cerny being off was a real blow because I didn’t think Dowell did enough to convince he can be more than a bit part player. Be good to see kasinwirjo play some minutes (which I suspect will be at RB) …overall encouraging and beginning to look like we may have genuine depth.
Hoping the more the players gel, confidence grows and then I look at a 10-15% improvement for each player…. Where imo we really need to shape up is in being ruthless when we control a game… whilst we were not world beaters yesterday, we really could easily have been 3-0 up by half time… just have to get that killer touch which will help spark the team as a whole.

I know we paid over £2million for igamane but i honestly think this kid will be worth every penny, as we'll eventually make big profit on him imo ?.
16 Sep 2024 11:06:04
Zikos we were'nt the highest in the league, celtic spent nearly double what we spent mate.
16 Sep 2024 11:38:41
Igamane and Bajrami look to be the real deal and it was good to see how well they linked with the existing squad. I still believe we have a very decent squad. Whether this manager and staff are the best option to take us forward is another matter. Really, really hope they are.

Igamane should now get the chance to be our starting no.9. He looked a real good prospect. Enough of taking it slow, give him match time to build his confidence.
Cortes and Jefte worked well down the left. Again they need to build their confidence.
Barron is a little gem.
Dowell is not a first team quality player.
We missed Cerny down the right. Tav may have did better if Cerny was playing but his passes/ crosses were not good.
I think bajrami is an upgrade to Lawrence. Lawrence did well, but he was clear on goal a few times and should have scored at least one more.
The CB’s did their job and managed a clean sheet.
My opinion anyway. ?.

It was reported that Igamane cost £! .7 million . The net spend looks higher because it includes the deferred payment for Diomande. We don`t know what we got for some of the players we got rid of but I reckon the net spend outwith this is about. £1.5 to £2 million. Yes that is the highest in the league, no surprise and its is higher then the other mob because of the money they got for O`Riley.
I thought Jefte, Barron and Cortes looked good yesterday, Igamane looked a real prospect and Bajrami showed some neat touches without being too involved. My big worry so far is Propper but its early days he has time to settle down.
16 Sep 2024 12:50:23
Boy blue he said bet spend which he is correct.
16 Sep 2024 13:08:13
Net spend, my bad zikos ?.
16 Sep 2024 13:08:38
Igamana 1.7m Jefte 800k, different class, both will be under 10k weekly wages, Diomande Cortes Barron Jefte Igamana should make us a good profit on future sales, all I know is Clement has a massive job on his hand, losing around 6m in yearly wages is a very good start, still think he'll do the job he came in to do, we will see an improvement in the weeks ahead, like what I've seen from Igamana.
16 Sep 2024 13:46:17
Don't see Diomande making us a good profit on current form, Considering we paid £4.5 million for him we would struggle to get our money back for him.
16 Sep 2024 14:09:02
wsl probably right but we aren't selling him now. also the figures being quoted may not be correct as they are a guess based on transfermarkt often. saw £1M quoted for Igamane yesterday.
16 Sep 2024 14:29:57
Only 22 wslgers and can see he will improve a great deal.
