Hey guys I always give it a couple days for the site to cool down lol, but seriously guys we need patience to let clement build his team, after all walter smith had. 3 year plan to win the league in his second stint, clement deserves that chance does he not?

I’m with you on the 3 year plan, it’s a shame we need to do this again but that’s the reality. I don’t mind giving PC the 3 year (to be honest I don’t think we have any other options) but he needs to get a significant improvement in performances. If he continues to play players who are out of form and lacking in effort then the buck has to stop with him.

Tav should not be near the first team just now until he’s mentally stronger, we’re playing teams with only 10 players on the park.

Difference is Smith had fortunes to spend.

Dado if we are going to wait on Tavs getting mentally stronger - its going to be a long long wait?totally agree re out of form players but he must play players in their best positions and stick with that and stop accommodating Tavernier.

Smith also knew fan dancers wouldn't win anything! @ we need some steel right through the team, this lot do not intimidate or dominate anyone!

I agree re 3 year plan; Gerrard also had it. I think we look for performances and improvement along the way but expect that against Celtic we may need to wait a little longer to be as competitive as we want. I also think we leave it to the manager to decide who he plays and who he thinks is the best in that position from the squad he has. Otherwise reading the posts for the time I have been on the site I don't think he would have anyone to play regularly never mind Tavs.

We must give PC time this rebuild on and off the park has only just begun, we have to up our off field revenue streams as FFP rules stop us spending on the squad we can’t just borrow or find a sugar daddy to pay for recruitment, we have got rid of some of our high earners and replaced them with lower payed players, with that went experience so now we have a team trying to find its feet which will take time and abusing them from the stands and outside the ground only drains what little confidence they have, we need stability from the top to the bottom this sacking managers every year or two and starting again must stop, yes the next year or two will be painful but they have a better team right now and are cash rich to improve their team, we can’t sack our manager and expect a new manager to change where we are, mistakes have been made and that will take time to rectify.

Walter certainly didn't have fortunes during his second spell.

04 Sep 2024 09:54:43
Dado! You know I get on very well with you on here, and always have time for your posts mate (even though we don't agree on everything), but PC is never getting 3 years if things don't start to improve.

If PC doesn't have us playing better football soon, and register a victory over the tims, he is never getting 3 years. Us fans will never put up with that, it will never happen.

If we continue on as is, then the club is going to lose a lot more money than they will by getting rid of him. The inept board have made a rod for their own back by extending his contract, and their arrogance, will come back to bite them on the arse. If 40% on this forum are willing to give him another 3 years, I can assure you, that there will be nowhere near that amount of ST holders who will afford him that time. No fan wants to watch this mince for that amount of time. If we give him another 3 years of this atrocious football, the tims could be on 6 in a row by the time we change it. Never happening! And just incase anyone missed that. NEVER HAPPENING!

Walter is imho the greatest manager and greatest Ranger and doesn't get the credit for the job he did 2nd time around.

04 Sep 2024 10:02:46
You could see progress under Walter, can you see progress under Clement. Didn't Walter also win his first two old firm games? How many has Clement won?

04 Sep 2024 10:22:12
I don’t disagree sunshine, I just can’t see the benefits of sacking him. It’s a brutal position to be in, I think Celtic will take 12 off us (at least 9) and will win the league by double figures.

If that sacks him then I get it but I don’t think the next guy will do anything different and would need at least 18 months to turn things around.

I just want to see an improvement on the pitch, some fight and passion from the players who at the moment appear not really to give a toss.

04 Sep 2024 10:35:16
But, Dado, if they get in the right manager, then we can replace what's missing. Is it not the manager's job to get his players to show passion and fight? Look what the gaffer done when he replaced Le Guen. If PC can't get his players up for the fight, then he is done for.

PC made a rod for his own back when he declared that all his players could be sold, except Butland. Aye, that worked! Also, by declaring that his team won't be ready for the start of the league, and will finally click in Oct, was absolute madness! What manager in his right mind would openly declare that?

Sorry mate, PC is a busted flush who needs removed, sooner rather than later!

04 Sep 2024 11:02:56
but Sunshine you say that supporters don't make the decisions at the club so why would any supporter dissent lead to PC not getting any amount of time. Is that an acceptance that supporters do play a part in those decisions?

04 Sep 2024 11:05:06
You might be right mate, I guess I’m just a little more worried by the uncertainty in sacking another manager.

We really are a rudderless ship just now, it’s absolutely brutal.
