This could make me extremely unpopular but I need to be honest.
The way a growing section of our fans treat our players is despicable. We all care about the club and want to see passion in our team but the toxic element in our support is growing and becoming harmful.
We have every right to criticise, bluntly and honestly and to call out the lack of commitment, but the venom spewed to players and the manager after Sunday's game is unacceptable.
It's no coincidence that players looked to be playing with more freedom when there was no fans during COVID. I'm not saying this is only a problem with our club, just that it's contributing to our problems. These people need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Good post Pauly.

The fans don’t help when the stadium is half empty come 80th min and they go and just moan and groan at every little mistake. There’s also a reason why we’ve been significantly better in Europe than domestically when the atmosphere of the crowd is totally different.
03 Sep 2024 12:59:54
PalyDon; here here which players will want to come and play for us only to be abused like that when they are struggling it’s embarrassing to watch but these clown see it as their 15 mins of fame.

The same players that played without fans were more or less the same players that with fans all the way to the EL final. The team that won without fans were knocked out of both cups so I'm not buying that fans are a part of the problem.
Yes some criticism is of course out of order but that has always been
the case.
Fans have always moan and groaned, even with successful teams. Our fans have always left early since I can remember during the early 90s. So again let's not blame fans. We are better in Europe because teams play against us, unlike the SPL where they sit back. Nothing to do with atmosphere. The SPL teams have always sat back. Look at every domestic succesful Rangers team. We played with two strikers, one usually an ariel target man. We had two strikers who bullied defenders and could hold the ball up and get on the end of crosses.
We should be looking at how we play, how we set up and what type of player we bring to the club instead of trying to blame fans for players being barry white and cowards.
The lack of mentality is a product
of the snowflake generations. If you can't handle the pressure then do what tik tok todd did and move back to the championship.

I’ve been saying that for at least a decade.

Poly don a good post mate.
03 Sep 2024 14:13:15
No we don't condone that behaviour at all and the wee rats that thought it was a good idea should never be back at Ibrox, yes we all agree the players effort and attitude are not right but that certainly won't help our players one bit.
I do agree we are becoming more toxic but I assume it's because we see this lack of effort, I'm sure most of us remember the effort our players put in under Smith, Advocaat even McCleish but this lot are not giving us anything and in some cases it's clear they don't want to try so it's also on them to give the effort they get well paid for it's a minimum requirement here. We can take getting beat by a better team if we don't look beat at the tunnel.

Correct Ray. The happy clapping bunch would much rather blame us big bad fans than blame those most culpable. Pathetic!
03 Sep 2024 14:54:44
Ray ger and sunshine, your comments tell us all we need to know.
Ray, Celtic didn’t park the bus, they played against us, how did that work out for us?
Sunshine, you really think standing in front of a car and bawling abuse at players is acceptable? Rather than protests in the ground or banners up criticising the board for example?
That’s your way we deal with the situation, moronic fans standing abusing players and making a fool of themselves and embarrassing the club? Who is that helping? The players, the board?
I’ll tell you who that helps, Celtic football club, from the board down to the fans! But the morons are too stupid to realise that. I not about being a happy clapper, it’s about conducting yourself in the right manner. Like I say though, your comments and your defending these wallopers tells me all I need to know.
03 Sep 2024 15:05:18
'snowflakes' 'hapoy clappers' get a grip. I'm no talking about having a moan and groaning about performances like Sunday. I'm talking about actual abuse, players should never have to put up with.
A lot of things were tolerated years ago, doesn't mean they were right. We need to move with the times and people need to get a life. If football turns them into absolute cretins then they should check themselves.
03 Sep 2024 15:42:14
What do they tell you? That we have a strong mentality? That its a man's games?
You can sing as many love songs as you like but until we get the right players with the right mentality and change how we set up then nothing will change.
Btw no one condone's what happened at Ibrox after the game and neither is anyone defending them so stop trying to twist people's words!
03 Sep 2024 16:14:01
If anyone actually thinks booing and berating players make them play better then they need looked at. the pressure is on our players more than its ever been, even in Smiths days there were other clubs that could take points of Celtic. Now every game is a must win, i wouldn't want to play in that environment. what other workplace accepts staff getting abused, indeed anywhere else and the abusers would be kicked out, banned or even jailed. nothing to do with happy clappers but you honestly think abusing people works.
03 Sep 2024 16:38:42
Pauly I once witnessed Kenny Miller getting dogs abuse from our own fans when he played for us, and Davie McPherson back in the late 80s, both after old firm defeats from memory, always been going on and while we don’t condone it, it’s nothing new you just haven’t witnessed it fortunately.
03 Sep 2024 17:04:47
Stop comparing football to other places of work, it's not the same!
You seriously can't expect to go to a football game and not hear players being abused, fans abusing fans. Come on get real.
If you don't want to be in a must win environment then you obviously don't have the right mentality for it.
There is obviously a line when it comes to abuse but you can't expect football players to get it tight when they don't perform. Expecting 50k or 60k fans all singing love songs to each other and the players what a world we live in.
That snowflake mentality is exactly why tik tok Todd is a complete failure!
03 Sep 2024 22:41:56
It’s not about singing love songs it’s about conducting yourself in the correct manner. Players being boo’d off the park etc is fine with me if they don’t perform but to stand and shout abuse in a players face is unacceptable. I’d like to have seen them stand shout at Terry butcher like that. These guys are absolute morons and embarrass the club, end of story. No defence for it whatsoever. No love songs, no happy clapping, just not acting like **** and conducting myself in a proper manner!

Rangers will have zero tolerance policy. Those that step over should be banned. After the match, after leaving your place of work defo.
