Still really disappointed after Sunday, massive red flag over the manager, what was his game plan surely the highly paid coaching team must have planned for this game, where was the will to win to track your runner to win your tackles. The manager has had a full preseason yet Celtic were quicker, fitter and far more hungry than The team he put on the park. Sterling can't compete with their midfield and must be played in his correct position. Tav and Dessers can no longer be starters, what has happened to Danilo he was supposed to have been fit the last week of last season. It was men against boys and McCausland as much as we want him to do well should be no where near the first team squad. Unless we match Celtics work rate and commitment to the jersey we are in for for years of embarrassment.

The manager can’t make players track runners that is down to the players. We need better than dessers and Danilo . But dessers knocked back a move in window. Manager can’t do anything about that either.

I don't for one minute want to see Clement leave or be sacked but this belief that he can't do anything about players not tracking runners players playing slack passes not winning duels etc isn't true. We were bullied all over the park that's in part to fitness and conditioning and also I'm part a will to win, the manager and coaches play a massive part in both these factors.

Storm! PC sends the players out to play his system and style of football, so yes, we can blame him. FGS, we're sitting 4th in the league, and he's failed to register a victory against the tims in 5 games, losing a final along the way. How much longer do you want to give him? Do you honestly think he can turn this around? He's falling apart before our eyes due to the pressure and not being up for the job.
Terrible tactics! Not learning from his mistakes! Terrible man management! Starting 11's that are all over the place! Bewildering substitutions! Spouting absolute crap in interviews! Flimsy excuses! The list is long! Why should PC be afforded more time than all the others who failed? His win rate is just as bad, if not worse, compared to others who got the bag. Yes, changing managers sucks, but until we get it right, that's what will happen.

Storm, really can't believe your answer man, that is his job.
We will never get it correct sunshine, we'll go on sacking managers after a year or two for the foreseeable, we maybe have a wee blether if he wins against them, but it will not last long before the toxic reappear.
03 Sep 2024 11:16:44
I've said it before the constant sacking of managers de stabilises the club, not only the manager but his coaching staff would go, New manager new coaching staff and yet another new rebuild as a new manager again wants his own players. The money spent on paying off management teams over and over cannot be sustained. Would be as well putting in a revolving door on the managers office at the rate the fans want rid. None of us are happy where we are but sacking the management team every year does nothing but cost us millions. Sooner or later we will need to stick with someone long enough to try to get a winning team on the park.
03 Sep 2024 11:34:25
Give the man time, yes it hurt but to be honest we saw it coming, we have three players who have to come into team and three months to we play them again, let’s see what he can do as he said November we should see the team up to scratch, hard work and a few hard decisions and if it is not working then you will have plenty backing you up but changing manager after four games after the size of rebuild involved would be crazy, not saying you will not be proved right come January.
03 Sep 2024 11:34:45
JFm I agree and I’ve asked the question before what happens if Pc does this rebuild doesn’t work and new manager wants his own players and the ones bought must now are not wanted it’s a vicious circle we’re caught up in because of poor decisions at the top and poor recruitment in the past and some of these new guys the jury is still out to seee what they are going to bring and offer?
I honestly don’t know the correct answer and I’m usually full of them as you know ?.
03 Sep 2024 11:42:21
I think we all realise that jfm but at the same time we can't just continue with someone that is way out there depth mate. Sunshine said he's falling apart in front of our very eyes, it's sad but true, he's all over the place. His interviews when he came in were good, now look at them, I honestly can't listen to the guy that's how bad it's become for me, standing there telling angry fans they had 4 shots, we had 4 shots, we got beat 3 nil ya crackpot, it could have been 5/ 6. Nobody can see a style of play after God knows how long, why? We can persevere with this guy as long as we want, he ain't the answer that's for sure.

It’s a managers job to make sure his players do the basics really well .
He cannot transform average into talented but he can make sure average makes up for his technical deficiencies with hard work. There are acceptable ways to lose football matches and we all get that but that was such a pitiful effort it must come back to the manager. Now I don’t want to start shouting for the managers head but he must sit down and look at the game honestly we were bloody awful. Players running off us, ball watching in the six yard box the opposition being allowed so much time and space just the basics.
03 Sep 2024 11:47:04
I can’t see how Clement can possibly turn this around. No style, no evidence of trying to play a certain way, no fight. If we were losing with style and young players trying to play to a certain way then yes more time, more patience and more energy from the fans but that’s not the case. I wonder why a team full of 11 better players than us go and buy a guy from Dundee who is immediately in their squad. We all knew on here that he was a good player but instead we buy European rejects. He has had 11 months to make the team his own. Even with Beales players he could have tried to make them play to his system but he hasn’t and because of this their faults have become apparent. He needs to go.
03 Sep 2024 11:48:24
so a manager with his hands tied behind his back, and what funds will be available for the next new manager if this one can't get any. the answer zero, zilch so we need to work with what we have, get another couple in January and go from there. we all wanted a rebuild but we wanted one that hit the ground running. no chance with the money we have. oh and don't say Ange did it, Ange still had a core of a team and didn't need 8 first team players. i just new all this would happen, we said we need give him time and wow after 4 weeks is what we give him. we have no chance with the supporters we have.
03 Sep 2024 11:53:48
I'm not one for sacking and managers over and over and PC should be given more time 100%. That being said though, we need to actually start seeing a style of play as at the minute I don't see anything but lost little boy on the pitch. Again his hands are tied as I have stated multiple times this squad is weaker than last year and we have no depth to speak of. Also look at Liverpool, manager has been in the door a couple of months and we can already see his style of play.
Storm surely you're having a laugh right? It's the managers job to motivate the players and get them fit enough to run around for 90 mins and that is not the case at all.
03 Sep 2024 12:07:54
I’m really peed off with clement, I’m not sure what he can do differently with the squad of players, he played the team I would have picked. I don’t want to see him sacked though, I will keep backing him as changing managers will just restart the cycle over and over. I hope he can get it right and that giving him time will pay off but at the moment he’s got some making up to do.
03 Sep 2024 12:10:03
BB4, I am not saying I think PC is a great manager. Yes his interviews are dreadful but do you really expect him to come out and say we were Jimmy White.
Successful teams have things in common and one of them is a manager given time to do the job.
Clement still has players to start or play a full game.
Everybody is hurting but sacking clement now won't change a thing. Our squad is what we're stuck with at least until january. I'm not a fan of bringing in free transfers at this stage as usually there is a reason they don't have a club.
So many fans saying Cerny was great until the defeat on Sunday now he is being called useless. One thing I will agree with is Tav is a liability in these games now but I don't think he was the worst player on Sunday. Clement in my opinion can succeed but only if he has the balls to make the big decisions including dropping our captain. Time will tell.
03 Sep 2024 12:18:01
Stig I never thought I'd see the day. ?.
03 Sep 2024 12:19:51
Instead of the flimsy excuses would you rather clement came out and name dropped every player who is not upto the job of beating celtic. Would that work? Or aiming both barrels at the board. The stuff we all know is true but the manager can't actually come out and say. Its a rebuild and with very little money compared to celtic. We have no right to be winning these games when you look at both squads. No manager would change that.
03 Sep 2024 12:21:21
I think Stromtrooper means that once PC gives players instructions ie track back, once the players are on the park its up to them to carry them out. A bit like you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink it. Players also have to have the right mentality to perform tactical instructions.
03 Sep 2024 13:13:41
Hands tied behind his back. You look at both Dundee teams and st Mirren whose combined budget is probably less than our managers salary. They play with a certain style that’s evident. We don’t. We seem to be working on individual duels which not one of our players won on Sunday.
03 Sep 2024 13:50:58
Souness mentioned the stats as well; said how if you saw them but didn't know the score then you wouldn't think it was a 3-0. if we had scored the reasonable chances which we had then we might have got a couple even a draw, despite not playing well against them. I think that is the point he was trying to make as was Souness.
Not sure how they could have scored 5/ 6 with only 4 shots on target granted. yes they had lots of attacks but not all resulted in a shot at all due to overhit crosses, no-one at back post. so those couldn't have been goals, not even chances in my view.
