Does anybody honestly think we have a long term plan to succeed?
Following on from my views on these season long loans, I can’t help but think the board are honestly just planning season by season.
I can’t see the plan to succeed, I’m even struggling to understand our strategy to overturn Celtics dominance. Surely this is discussed and this vision is then shared.
My gut feel is the board aren’t even thinking this way.

It’s a shambles. Heart breaking ??.

Feel the exact opposite mate, Jefte Diomande Barron Igamana Cortes are signings are for future profit, we should always work loan to buy deals, many very good player can't cut it in our league.

Totally agree, the players we purchased are sensible young players who should improve our finances going forward.
This will take a few years to see the results when we sell them but it’s the right thing to do.

Totally agree with my star sorry, not the original post.

I agree My Star - think the plan and strategy is pretty clear .

Jefte Diomande Barron Igamana Cortes. that's some good business
Plus Cerny and Proper
The club cannot continue to bring in quality when there is the current dross on the wage sheet.
We need to give them time, it will not turn around in 1 (maybe 2) seasons.
It is an impossible to keep all/ most of the fans happy.
It would be different if they hadnt brought in anyone but they have.
I think they still need a good few pieces and get rid of the old guard (we know their names)

I don't see the problems with loans, Dado, as long as these loans help us win the league. Unfortunately, they don't! So, in the grand scheme of things, when they go back to their parent club when there is no agreement to buy, then their contribution hasn't meant much.

The only loan we have without an option to buy is Cerny. Our squad is transitioning the average age must’ve came down significantly this window. Jefte Diomande Cortes Igamane Nsiala Barron are all early 20s so it’s clear we’re building long term. Would you prefer we stuck to the same strategy of signing duds from the championship on massive wages which got us in this mess?
29 Aug 2024 12:47:35
We’ve also completely changed the wage structure with current signings so yes I can see a plan. It won’t happen in one window. If you think that then you’re not living in reality.

Unfortunately I feel it’s more the fact that it’s having to be a pretty long term fix and what we are seeing right now is just the very start of it. We are in the ‘clear the decks’ phase. Trying to shift out all of the under performing, way over paid players we have, whilst still trying to do enough to put a team out to at least try and compete this season. There is no quick fix. The solution is to rip up what we have, and properly do what we have been talking about for years, ie each window bring in a number of young, inexpensive prospects that will be able to perform well in the team and that in a year or two we can sell on for big profit (which is unfortunately something that Celtic have now been doing since the days of Wanyama and Dembele) . They are 10 / 15 years down the line with that set up and look how it’s benefited them. We are going to have to bring our strategy in line and hopefully that is what we are finally trying to do. But as I say, we are very much right at the beginning. Until some of the players brought in this window start moving on for big money (hopefully Diomande, Cortes, Igname, Barron, Nsila) then we won’t see the long term plan start to work. And seeing as some of those players are yet to even play their first game, you can see how long we have to go.

We are now on the right track, it may take time for the benefits to be felt but signing youngsters on lower wages is the way to go. How difficult has it been to shift bang average players on silly money, no one wants them at the salary they are on.

Don't think dado is just talking about players guys, he's talking about the running of the club from top to bottom. I agree with dado we are all over the place atm.

Some good comments guys, your right blue boy, I was following on from the discussions around the loans rather than just talking about that again.
I agree with some of the comments around the younger players but I’m still unclear how these help us over throw Celtic? If we’re just buying to sell then we’re always restarting the process?
I’d love to see the 5 year plan or even at the minimum have this talked about in reference if not the detail.
How are we going to become a bigger commercial success over the next 5 years? How are we going to change the model of us relying on loan players to people taking our players on loan? What is our strategy to coming not just a team who competes in the champions league but can be competitive when compared to other pot 3 or 4 teams?
I’m sure all of this would have been planned years before we won the league and got to the final? I don’t believe these things just happened by chance.
I’m also just really frustrated and disappointed with where we are today. Aberdeen will be closer to us than we’ll be to Celtic at this rate.

It’s going to take 3 seasons at the very least to see a difference for selling players on for profit, there’s no kidding about we are in serious financial difficulty at the moment.
29 Aug 2024 15:00:49
I honestly believe this is the long term plan ??.

They gave walter smith 3 years to win league in his second spell, sense says clement deserves 3 too.
