Very interesting the number of times PC gets critisced for his set up of 4231 so I checked the epl teams on sat who setup the same way and was surprised Ipswich Liverpool Brighton Notts forest Bournemouth West ham and A. villa all set up the same way. I accept those teams have a lot more money and better players but maybe we should get PC manage the team and give him the time to sign his own type of player.

I think the main issue people have is that we don’t have the personnel to play it particularly that number 10 position.

David, we have two number 10's rotting away with the B team. Here's something I was thinking last night, if the transfer window comes and goes and Hagi and Cantwell are still here then surely we have to integrate them back into the first team?

We played more of a 433 at the weekend there, i think if we are playing with a 10 then he has to be quality on the ball and mobile, lawrence isn't really either of those things.

No doubt the system works, IF you have very quick, mobile, FIT!, players.
Sadly at the moment, we are sorely lacking all 3
Doesnt hurt if they possess a bit of skill as well.

As the manager plays the way he wants and it’s up to the board or whoever signing players to get him the correct players.

Ally we won a cup playing that way and should have won the league if we never blew it, not using this as an excuse for Clement but that formation needs quality wide players and we were left with hardly a choice. we sign a quality cm and number ten it will make a great difference for the way he wants us playing.

AS I trust our experienced manager who knows the players to do the right thing. For all we know he's highlighting exactly who we need to bring in.
The formation is the least of our worries when we have such an underperforming and weak squad.

It's not his formations, it's lack of balls to drop people like tav, lawerence and as the manager he should be coming out saying we were or just not good enough the red card.
in europe, ok blame the ref, the pish performace so far in the league telling players to find other clubs leaves us with players no one wants unless we pay them to take them.

2020 - correct If we persist with Tav, Lawrence and also Davies this season again we will win eff all -he is now having to play Davies more often due to Balogun and Propper injuries - God help us all?U can see Maeda warming up to send Tavs into a mortal death spin for 1st OF game - just hoping that Tavs is top of list to move to Saudi asap as his game looks severely wanting at present!

Ben Davies doesn't half get a rough time of it on here reads the game well lacks a bit of aggression at times but so do all our central defenders. Infact so do most of the squad.

My star, oh well done we won a poxy we cup at the start of the season. I didn't realise our ambitions as a club were so low.
The new manager buzz and that mob being terrible got us within touching distant only for us to be the ones that bottled it and get a moral OF victory. Not good enough by my standards.
The formation may work great for other teams with real quality on the pitch but at the moment we do not have that quality and you would think a good manger would see that and manage the team accordingly.
Anyone can be a good football manager when the players are all great.

4231 is fine if you have a good number 10. It’s suicide playing it when Tom Lawrence is the number 10. You can get away with it against smaller teams but against Celtic you’re punished and you don’t need to be a professional football manager to know that. Just look at the performances with your eyes when Lawrence played in there against Celtic.
