people only look back at Sakala as good because the players like Lammers and Dessers got bought in.
When Dessers, leaves people will quote his 22 goals and say how great he was when in reality he is just OK at best.

I always liked the way he played with a smile. Genuine player with real pace and imo an ability to get better.

Don't know about that dado. He was definitely good enough mate. I for one never wanted him gone, but we got decent money on him, one of only a few of our trading model that actually worked. Good luck to the we man, loved playing for our club, wish I could say the same with 75% of our players.

It made good business sense to accept the offer, and that should be how we operate going forward. If a player is playing well and gets an offer we need to consider it, letting player contracts run down is madness especially if the contract only has a couple of years left.

I hope he gets a great move. I don't think any rangers fans should have a bad word to say about him. He always gave it 100% and his attitude was great. I imagine he was a great character to have arrived the place too.

With regards to Sakala he just wasn’t good enough unfortunately, he was a squad player, keep thinking back about he was the only fit forward at one point but Gio still refused to play him and went for Aribo a midfielder to play the striker role, Europa league final brought on as a late sub and was then subbed himself, always felt he was a decent sub to bring on with his pace when defenders tired, when you think about it, he is similar to Dessers, not the way they play but more they can do sporadic good things and score but a lot of the time they can be ineffective.

He was much better than Matondo, he was more direct and was good for a few goals . I`m not saying that I was desperate to keep him but he was better than Matondo and I did say at the time I would rather he had gone than Fashion, but we can only sell a player if he is wanted as we are finding out.

I'll say it, yes sakala is better than dessers, pace, energy and didn't need 10 touches before shooting, was never afraid to get a shot away and caused celtic problems when he played against them, unfortunately he had no composure in his finishing at all but he was behind morelos, roofe and then colak in the pecking order, if he was here now he'd be playing most weeks but that says more about the dross we have in forward areas just now.

Sakala was frustrating as hell.
Dessers is frustrating as hell.
The way they play is totally different so i was not comparing them as players, more that some fans still rate Dessers and others remember Sakala as this great player that we shouldn't have let go.
Once we get a good bunch of new players in the door that score good goals and help the team win then we'll not look back.
I am still hoping that Dessers can turn things around and make me eat my words but i'll wait :)
