Worrying thing for me is if clement told all these guys he doesn’t want them at the club and we can’t sell them there is no hope whatsoever for them to pull the jersey on and give 100%. If I knew my bosses wanted me gone I would detest working for them and the company. Maybe his approach has been a bit harsh. Maybe should have waited for bids coming in first rather than tell them they are not in his plans.

It’s not been harsh it needs doing, the alternative is to continue playing players we know are simply not good enough.

This happens at all clubs. players and their agents told that not part of plans and agents should find new clubs. issue not what Rangers have done but that no club for moment wants to buy Hagi etc. Cantwell has said he wants to leave, PC seemed happy for him to stay. either things ongoing or other clubs down want him. do you keep players in 1st team squad who will as you say not give 100% and detest working for them and the company.

Broxi; unless you tell the players how else will their agent know to look for a club for these players, you can’t just stay quiet and hope they will ask to leave especially when they are on the wages we are paying them.

We will now be forced though to play players that know the manager doesn’t even think they are good enough though. Different having a fans opinion out there but for a player playing knowing the manager doesn’t want him there it’s different. I’ve seen managers calling out a player or two in the past but for us our manager has called out so many players. Nobody wants them which leaves us in a real difficult position. Rangers ambition every season is to win the league. How can this be done now? Imo this has all been dealt with in the wrong way.

Btw since hagi got a hatrick in the b team game a lot of fans want him back in the first team. If Clement was to change his mind like we do it’s different. Danage is done when a players manager gets vocal on wanting them gone.

Works both ways then Broxy. I get your point on players like Matondo and Davies who probably want to leave but if they were professional they would get on with the job they are paid to do until a bid comes in
On the other hand If players like Cantwell and Hagi have asked to leave why would the manager trust them to play and give 100%.

While I agree he needs to try and get players out I think it's been handled horrendously. If they able to get players out quickly it's fine but all it's done is create a really bad atmosphere around the club. Some of the players are still going to be needed so need them onside and fighting for us.

He has to tell players if they're in his plans but the worry is we may have to go back and ask some of these players who know they're not wanted. To go out and do us a turn and that's not PC fault that's down to the whoever deals with departures.

Polar totally believe that Cantwell has asked to leave but I think clement has ear marked a good half dozen players that don’t feature in his plans. It is also clear as day that we are struggling so badly to shift even one player. In no way do I think that I’m 100% correct on my opinion I just see/ think that there is a lot of mistakes being made that is back firing. I don’t know of any other football club that has half a dozen players in their squad that know the club don’t want them there. That’s disastrous to me. We have very little players of quality as it is.

Sima some of these players that are still here and some that are already gone in this window got us to a europa final and won us a league title. Do u see any recent signings we have made improving on that? The signings that we have made this window ain’t good enough to achieve that. So my point stands that he maybe shouldn’t go criticising or ruling out current players when we have signed a pile of crap and can’t seem to sign anyone else.

Broxi, years ago I was working as deputy editor of a national newspaper when a new editor was appointed. He told me that I wasn't part of his plans going forward and that I should think about my future. Within three weeks I had taken another job at a wage drop of £15k a year. It kept me in the game and within a couple of years I was earning almost double the salary I had previously.
There is no sign of any of these players willing to do the same, but merely hanging around draining the club of money, morale and meanwhile losing any professional dignity they might have had as players, making them almost impossible to shift. Money is more important to them than their professional reputation and I fear that a few of them will rot here just to take the cash.

Hubby first of all well done on your career and having a positive mindset to get a new job, sadly that often isn't the case. Are you sating job insecurity doesn't affect performance? How is my post nonsense then you basically say the same thing about draining the club and morale? There's hardly any interest in any of the players so can't just tell them to leave when we can't bring in replacements and unlike other jobs it hard to fire or le.

Also it's jot just one or two that have been told their not wanted, it's practically the whole team apart from Butland. And it's just repeated every interview that they are not good enough, we need years to replace them it's not a renovation it's a complete rebuild. That's some team talk every game. Your not good enough but no one wants you so we're stuck with you for now until you all leave and I can get others I. Now go out and play your hearts out, yeah go team.

Ed would like to imagine this but how often does it actually happen at clubs? More often hear manager has lost the dressing room, or players have downed tools. We've seen far too many just recently Kent Morelos Barasic etc hardly went out their way to impress.
{Ed001's Note - sorry but every season players are told this, that is not when they lose dressing rooms. It is normal practice. They are given warning to give themselves a chance to organise for the following season. If players stop trying, it is not because they are told they are unwanted.}

It also isn't every player who will have been told they can leave. PC said everyone has a price except Butland and a few others. I suspect it is the likes of Cantwell, and Hagi who have been told and those from memory are the only two who have been named by PC.
Celtic are willing to sell Reilly who is a mainstay of their team so everyone in any club has a price. Agents of the players who have been told to go will be looking for new clubs; there may be interest but it takes time. there isn't a lot of business happening anywhere at the moment. Clubs often wait until he last minute hopping selling clubs will reduce their price especially if they want them to go. If players who are happy to stay but have been told they aren't needed remain post deadline then I suspect they will be happy with that and play to try to win PC over.
