Great team performance today but remember it's only half time.
Would like to see Sterling play alongside Barron instead of Diomande.

On a similar vein I would really like to see Barron and Sterling as the two CMs with diomande higher up. His technical touches and flicks might unlock defences. Gives me the fear a bit when he’s trying stuff like that in the deeper role.

Playing with the 3 of them as centre mids gives u a little bit of everything imo. Dio has freedom to roam forward without having to be so disciplined defensively and also his lack of concentration and sometime poor decision making won’t be as punishable with 2 beside him.
We will get steamrolled against better teams with only 2 in mf and esp if dio is one of the 2
We need to play with 3 centre mids imo and if not then 3 centre backs.

Agree, I would prefer to play with the 3 of them and drop the number 10 role. Diomande was slack in possession at times but so was everyone. Think atm he is offering more than Lawrence.
Also would start Jefte and Cerny on the wings. Wright not in the match at all and Macaudland played ok but faded towards the end of the first half.
I’m a big fan of Yilmaz but thought in possession he was really poor tonight.
Also need to say (cos I criticise him all the time) Dessers did well popping up with goal and was unlucky with the header. He gave away needless free kicks at times, often tries to get a foul rather than play the ball but overall he had a good game. My opinion of him hasn’t changed but he did well.

Been banging this drum for a while sterling gives you the natural cover for fullbacks and his work rates insane thought dio was very good last night.

I liked the look of Jeffe in the more forward role on the left in front of Ridvan.
