Dreading it to be honest mate. Our squad is nowhere near ready. Was at a sportsman’s last night and got chatting to Lee McCulloch and Barry Ferguson. Both feel Big Phil will walk soon. Was grim what they were saying.
There’s no way we’ve pursued a deal for Joan Jordan this long without being confident he would want to come. ?.

Our defence seems to be worse than last season, we need players to hit ground running. Jefte although only played 2 friendlies looks to be worse than BB. I know he's a young lad coming to a new country and that be we can afford for players needing a season to bed in, my opinion but we need at least 5 players still.

I’m more worried for the started this season than any other for the last 5 seasons.

Like you, Storm, I can’t wait. Even though the defence gives me the fear. And Wright seems to be a regular starter with some on here claiming he’d be excellent as a 10. ?
I didn’t think I’d say this but I like the look of Barron. With him and Diomande forging a not too bad partnership in the middle. Which will only improve the more they play together. Already got concerns about others but fingers crossed it’s only teething problems as they settle into new surroundings.
And a couple of the experienced pros are needing to step up. Would ideally like a couple of half decent starters signed. But it’s still Follow Follow no matter what ????.

We should be ready fitness wise but having the team gel is another story. Clement will get it right but patience will be needed. can't wait for the new season. ????.

For the start of the season I think we’re going to be a work in progress, to many ifs and buts about who’s leaving and staying, make no mistake this rebuild job clement has is huge, I’m predicting loads more signings it just requires patience at start of season, we will get stronger again, clement and koppen ain’t no mugs, keep believing guys.

I watched the game yesterday in the company of three ex-youth coaches at Rangers, two of whom were former Rangers players. It was like a wee reunion if you like. All were positive about the manager and there was no suggestion that he might walk, and most of the chat was about players who might be on the way in or out. Everyone was looking forward to the new season and it was so refreshing to hear such positivity, especially from guys who played the game and coached. When it came to academy players, the one name they all mentioned as being a first team candidate was Bailey Rice. The oldest guy said Rice was a young Dave Smith!

Ot, don't you think storm has a right to slate wright? He's been here for years and done next to nothing, whereas jefte a 20yr old boy settling in to a new team new country played around 100 minutes of football, yet getting wrote off already by many. Wright been excellent pre-season, hopefully it can continue.

I don’t think we are anywhere near the finished article, and are working on both player incomings and outgoings.
Coupled with poor showings in pre-season (particularly in respect of our defence), gives me a little pause. However seeking to be glass half full Hearts have had an even worse pre-season and have been on the receiving end of a couple of spankings (Fleetwood for one) . In addition while D Kiev won well in Europe and look the likely CL opponents, they did concede twice, have to play away and probably most significantly we are not sure how strong Partizan really were…yesterday included the usual dreadful defensive lapses, but there was some good slick forward and midfield play and even against Man U we were carving chances.
so… perfect NO, reservations about the new season YES (based on the team/ squad as at today) …faith PC can get it right. DEFINITELY.
