Hi Star, just following on from our conversation yesterday. You said why would we make a 2nd bid if Jordan said no to the 1st bid, you said you can't understand that. Do you honestly think that all bids are accepted first time?

How many bids have been rejected at first and then improved 2nd or 3rd bids accepted? Plenty is the answer. If everyone gave up after the first bid was rejected, very little deals would be done. That's how bidding works. You don't get it star. We tried our luck with a 2nd bid and got rejected again.

We tried to change his mind with a 2nd bid. Why is that so hard for you to grasp?

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn’t want to go to rangers forget him.

27 Jul 2024 12:53:23
Co, you're still are not getting it mate, why if he said no in the first place, would we go back after knowing he it's interested in coming to our league.

27 jul 2024 12:58:53
you explained it perfectly well the first time mate, we tried again but he said no again, apparently, it happens often, trying to convince anyone to leave spain fir scotland is nigh on impossible, you would need to come back and offer something else, sadly that hasn’t done the trick,
star, many players have knocked back a transfer quoting the homesick or not wanting to leave the country, often changing their minds at a second or third offer, as you should know.

27 Jul 2024 13:07:37
Because to talk to him we 1st need to reach a deal with his club.

27 Jul 2024 13:12:40
I can understand someone that has been in Spain all of their career not wanting to come to the SPFL and not wanting to live in a country with such a horrid climate.
Fact is that historically, once someone came to Rangers they loved everything about the Club and fell in love with Scotland.

We need to be better at convincing people to join us, we see from many that did, Laudrup, an array of Dutch players and Italian players; guys from Spain like Arteta!

That means a Board that is openly passionate about the Club and are active in supporting the manager, and not just about spending money.

If I was our Board and wanted this Spanish guy then I would be there will PC and his team to help convincing them to come and join us!

That is why Rangers needs to see change at the very top.

27 Jul 2024 13:15:40
He is saying the player doesn't want to come to Rangers, so why put in a second bid for a player who apparently doesn't want to come to us.

27 Jul 2024 13:24:25
There's a difference between a club rejecting a bid or a player rejecting terms and a player flat out saying he has no interest joining a team or playing in a specific league. I don't imagine we would make a 2nd bid if after the first one he said he wouldn't be interestes at all. possibility an agent says his player is interested to drum up offers from elsewhere but i think Koppen might have dealt with a few transfers before to spot things like this.

27 Jul 2024 13:34:34
There is merit to both argument as we do not know the reason for 1st rejection, if there was one. If it was for the financial package, then yes, go back in with improved offer. If it was because he doesn't want to play in the SPL, then no point in 2nd offer.

27 Jul 2024 13:36:37
No Antrim that wasn't mystars debate mate. Some on here were saying that Joan flat out said he didn't want to go to rangers so it's a non starter, if a player says I don't want to go to that club I want to remain in Spain, no! Surely that wasn't said if rangers feel they could go back with an approved offer, there getting some sort of feeling that they could land the player, or are the absolutely wasting there time for a guy that categorically said no! I don't believe that you go back in for a guy that definitely doesn't want to come, I think they weren't happy with the terms, so go away and come back with something else. Of course mystar knows how contracts work, the guy was actually a football player so probably knows more than most of us how it works.

27 Jul 2024 13:37:17
Co -the players wage isn’t changing, so he obviously means if the player isn’t interested why are rangers still trying to get the club to accept rangers paying a higher percentage of his wage as he doesn’t want the move. If rangers increase their offer from 50% to 60% of wages why would that change the players mind? Is that hard to grasp.

27 Jul 2024 13:45:09
Tom if he said I'm not interested in playing is that league first offer, end off.

27 Jul 2024 13:49:55
BerkshireBlue how do you know who is talking to this guy? It sounds as if he doesn`t want to leave Seville never mind leave his country. If he`s at all reluctant then we should move on to the next target. You are not comparing like for like, Walter talked Laudrup into coming but he was very unhappy not just at his club but in Italy which was not his homeland . Others we got were the same but we missed out on a few as well and we had others who couldn`t settle in Scotland and were failures. We were also a much bigger draw in those days and playing in a much better league, all these things count. It was the other lot who had trouble in those days because we were the dominant force, that has changed unfortunately but even they struggle nowadays to get big names.

27 Jul 2024 13:52:01
Yeah I know the wage is not changing. We tried again to convince him to come to Scotland after he said no the first time. Why is that hard to understand.

27 Jul 2024 13:58:17
Because the new offer was for the team to accept it doesn’t affect him so unless he hasn’t said he 100% doesn’t want to come why would rangers improve their offer to convince him to come? If it was just about trying to convince the player why would they need to bid to do that?

27 Jul 2024 14:01:00
You can try and change a guys mind a 2nd time it’s not out of the realms of possibility. I don’t see why people are arguing over this.

27 Jul 2024 14:05:25
It's a bit like this thread, couldn't agree yesterday so trying to agree again?.

27 Jul 2024 14:14:39
I’m not saying you can’t change a players mind a second time, I’m saying maybe it’s not as clear of a cut no from the player as it’s been suggested.

27 Jul 2024 14:34:10
If it gets to the 50th bid give up however if it was my wife I would go for 51 and then she would turn round and accept the 1st.

27 jul 2024 14:36:45
for once i agree with storm, and am a bit puzzled as to why you star are still talking nonsense, why on earth wouldn’t you try to change the guys mind if you want him.

27 Jul 2024 14:44:14
Very simple Tom, if he said I am not moving to that league, that is the end of the chat.

27 Jul 2024 14:44:44
Tom i believe you are talking nonsense ?.

27 Jul 2024 14:46:38
This is such a non debate. It's not the club we are trying to convince the boy to join it's the country he's coming to live in especially when playing in Spain.

If we gave up every time someone has said no to joining we would have a squad of homegrown players. Let this sink in Scotland needs selling to most players as it ain't a massive turn on for most outside of the UK. So in fact our club and even them lot will approach players multiple times in some cases to convince them it's a good move career wise.

27 Jul 2024 15:02:35
It's not Rangers, it is our league that stops them, am done here.

27 Jul 2024 15:02:37
Jesus Christ on a bike! Really? ???.

27 Jul 2024 15:19:24
Yeah star and we tried twice to convince him to come to Scotland and twice he said no. Am glad you're done and finally get it.

27 Jul 2024 15:41:42
Lol co, different class mate???.

27 Jul 2024 16:06:59
I knew you'd get it mate once it was simplified.

27 Jul 2024 17:01:26
Co, pissing myself laughing at you mate, to funny??????.
