If Hately is free then this is a must buy whether or not we need him. He is one of the best right backs in Scotland. If rangers got him and gave him the same training as Alan Hutton then this lad could be class for us and if we sold him for near the £9m we got for Alan then that's great pennies in the bank. Its a win win

@op totally agree with you 100% but I can't help think. This move won't happen as long as ally is manager, he either doesn't rate him or he still dosent get on with his dad Mark? I remember ally stating a couple of times him and hately didn't get on or his words often didn't see eye to eye!

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is as good as you say why is he still a free agent?

9 million for a player no club is interested in at the moment? Frankly there's more chance of Jim Spence getting a standing ovation at Ibrox.

So far all Ally has done is take value OFF players such as Sheils.

As for the whether or not we need him part, well in the club's current financial situation that would be spectacularly dumb.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Rangers have never sold any player less one at £9m.

Wishful thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you have the best left back in the country as we're led to believe and you want to sign one of the best right backs in the country on a free, is it just me but why is the LB playing 2nd division football and no one seems interested in the RB?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am honestly at a loss, I thought people were finally realising that the club are running out of money at an alarming rate and that austerity was now the only way forward. However the tone on these pages has completely changed and again we are talking about signing players we simply cannot afford.

Agree0 Disagree0

6. ) Anny the onny mouse accountant - are you a dormouse or a dark mouse?

Mr Mather said we are not skint.

Who are you that knows more than the finance department within The Famous Glasgow Rangers?

Matt Crozier

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 please name me a better left back i'm the SPFL? Don't say Izaguirre because you will be laughed at when was his last world beating £15million player performance? Adam Mathews is a cracking player no doubting that but he is a RB unfortunately for you. Why would we want anyone to want Wallace he is Future Captain of Rangers I hope & if everyone wants to overlook him in League 1 then I'm a happy Bear. Think we also have a gem on the other side in Kyle McAusland.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 you ask me to give you a name then you tell me not to say a particular name, why post if your going to answer and who said I support the team your making out that I do, don't rush in take a breath and go through the thought process first!

Agree0 Disagree0

So your answer would have been Izzaguirre then? Lol leave a name them everyone won't assume your a Jungle Jim when you come on here slating our players.

I honestly hope rangers sign Lithuanian ex hearts centre half marius zaliukas, he is a terrific aggressive no nonsense stopper, I've always rated zaliukas highly and on his game is the best centre half in scotland in my opinion, what do you think my fellow bears' fans?BIG RAM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Sep 2013 23:08:57
@op read my post on the rumour site, it should get cleared soon would like zaliukas but if what I've heard is true then there's no chance he will be offered a contract M8

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Sep 2013 23:28:18
@BigRam heard that rangers are ready to look elsewhere for there cb as they are really concerned about Zalukas injury to his ankle from last season that hasn't cleared up properly, they don't think he will pass a medical, now this could be someone stirring or it could just be the truth, it would make sense in why there hasn't been clubs south of the border and abroad knocking on his and his agents door? Like I said could be a rumour but also could be a fact, has anybody else herd anything else similar about this? And what about you Ed heard anything about this elsewhere? {Ed001's Note - I had heard there was an issue that required him having a trial to see if he was worth signing. I would assume it was an injury doubt, or they would just not even want to give him a trial. }

Just for you Ed that last post I copied and sent to banter from my comment on rumours was a mistake and I just realised I shouldn't have maybe done it I just wanted to respond to BigRam and not have to write it again sorry again and I hope I haven't piss*d you off and broke any rules sorry alex1972 {Ed001's Note - no worries mate, it is fine.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Best centre half in scotland in my opinion

That's totally mental!! If he's the best centre half do you not think sombody would have taken a chance on him regardless of his injury or would still be at hearts. Give me peace!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2, why oh why if what would have been a good deal for us falls through should we now be looking for another cb, we have enough players on the books.

You should be ashamed of yourselves, you spit the dummy out when other clubs fans have a pop at our players. then you think its ok to slate a player. Dean Shiels plays for Rangers. so support the guy. some Rangers fans need a reality check. get a grip. or go watch St Mirren or whoever. i'm gobsmacked at some of the drivel on here. Rangers, the club, the players and the fans always.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Op Dean has been Called up after 2 other Rangers supporting players both got themselves Sent off with horror challenges letting down their team mates. Dean can create & score goals he's plenty good enough to play against Luxembourg get off the guys bloody back Northern Ireland have turned to him when there in need just like we may have too at somepoint this season.

09 Sep 2013 22:28:40
@2 couldn't agree more people need to get a reality check and realise dean can't just become cr*p over night, he was nominated for spl player of the year just 2 seasons ago and then came into a Rangers team that was threw together and it took him and others to adapt to the lower leagues were he is getting Kicked in the air without little if any protection from officials, rangers fans will see a big improvement in him this season and then the higher the leagues and op
Opposition you will all see the real dean shiels and templeton for that matter! .

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 Lafferty is clearly no Rangers fan after his shameful desertion of the club last year

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 I take it the same goes for McGregor, Davis, Naismith, McCabe, Ness for moving on to a new challenge rather than jumping on the Charlie's touring Circus we couldn't afford them apart from the last 2 that's just it. Good luck to them all in what's left of there short careers. The only 2 I was gutted we couldn't keep was McCabe & Aluko but that's in the past now we have Lewis McLeod & Nicky Law plus Full Internationals such as Sheils, Wallace & Peralta I'm more than happy with that.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with @5 people forget all these players could have left as soon as we went into adminastration but took a cut in wages to help the club. after admin no way could we pay all they wages even for a month. steveblue

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 yes the same goes for them too traitors the lot of them and players that will never be welcomed back at Ibrox. Your right we couldn't afford them but they could have transferred over and negotiated clauses in their contracts to allow them to leave if a bid of £500k came in. That way the club would have got some much needed income at a time when it wasn't certain the club would have survived. Naismith is clearly the worst though for holding that press conference declaring Rangers dead

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 actually it wasn't as straightforward as that as Greg Wlyde found out. He left the club and went to Bolton but wasn't able to play that season. The English FA would register him so its quite feasible that the players wouldn't have got another team and could have been left with no club and no money coming in. Even a wage cut meant they were still getting some money in

Agree0 Disagree0

Or go watch Saint Mirren?! Charmed I'm sure. Although we are likely to meet you next year if our wonderful run of form continues.

LLSMFCF

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence intended to St Mirren or their fans. but they are struggling to get a result. always had a wee soft spot for the buddies. see you buddies when the Rangers are back where we belong. the all singing all dancing Spfl

There are 2 sides to this story about traitors, I totally agree that the likes of lafferty left without so much as a backward glance, a dog of a man, as proved by his intentional sending of for NI on friday so he wouldn't have to be available to travel to luxembourg on Tuesday,
Lets get this straight, Steven Naismith has neither the knowledge nor years to decide our club died, he has no rights whatsoever to make that statement, we stood by him thru injury after injury, and paid him well too, what he said was a disgraceful way to leave our club, and he can greet all he wants when the time comes when we are back, he has burned his bridges, the tens of thousands of RANGERS fans will decide if our club is dead, not Steven naismith,
And we are a long long way from dying, Good luck to the Glasgow rangerrs,,

An Imperfect Balance?

Their terraces are half empty;
Their fans are angry at the lack of spending;
Their manager is angry? At who or what?
The Green Brigade are on last orders?
They are on the brink of the biggest hiding ever inflicted on a Champions League Side;

What is happening?

Why, they have become top dogs!
They are top of the pile;
They are top of the heap;
They are champs amongst chumps;
They are favourites to win it all;
They are in bed with the SFA - Lawell;
They are cosied up to the BBC - Jim Spence;
They are in bed with The Establishment!

How can this be?

They are used to being second to Rangers!
They are used to be the underdogs;
They are used to fighting The Establishment;
They are used to fighting the cause;
They are used to coming from behind;

What can they do?

Fight to clear Rangers good name;
Champion the Rangers cause;
Continue to stay away from Parkhead;
Continue to moan and groan;
Rankle the BBC;
Besmirch the SFA;
Bemoan the referees.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your posts are shocking! why not just concentrate on Rangers?

When we get back to their level then and only then will they be a concern to us

Agree0 Disagree0

Matt that is such drivel. Why are you concerned with Celtic. You need to stop thinking about Celtic and concentrate on what is or is not happening with your club.

Why do you think everyone is against you they are not. Celtic have remained extremely quiet on Rangers problems and are not bothered about you so why are you bothered about Celtic.

Concentrate on your team and their cup run in the harry ramsden. When/If you get to play with the big boys again is the time to worry about Celtic as by then they will be miles in front of Rangers.

The Great Divide?

Not so long ago it was Rangers Football Team who was apparently in bed with the establishment and in particular the SFA and the SPL.

Whilst all this was going on the darkside where up in arms with the SFA, remember Mr O'Neill on the steps of Hampden declaring 'Would you have done that to Rangers?', and later wee Fergus trying to buy a London club by the back door. The darkside during this period became more and more Irish, less Scottish and definitely not British, going as far as refusing to salute the British Troops.

How things have changed, celtic is now the hero, Lennon can do no wrong (although he still gets angry - at what?), an ex manager in charge of the Scotland Team, and his second in command an ex player (both who also played for Aberdeen their feeder club!) and an ex player as the under 21 coach (why are the papers not calling for his head! We were unlucky at 4-0), and Lawell, yes Lawell has joined the SFA!

They have gone on a journey in Europe, albeit as they do not have a challenge in Scotland, and can afford to put all their eggs in one basket, as no Rangers to challenge them.

The Famous Glasgow Rangers need to have a board and a Chairman that can amend these broken chains with The Establishment and restore order, as it should be, and bring in the necessary funds whilst ensuring that we have a team capable of hitting the ground running and win the top league in Scotland and forward into Europe.

Ally must ensure that he gets the maximum effort from his team at every game this season and beyond. He must ensure that maximum points are taken with as many goals as is humanly possible.

I want this team to set world records both in points and goals scored. They must play to the whistle at all times.
This will put the team under extreme pressure and help them adapt to the environs of the upper leagues.

We are all in this together. We must give the team maximum support.

6. Having more dinity than Lennon isn;t much of an achievement likewise with Lennon being a better manager than Ally, not saying much is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

@6: I remember going to watch Liverpool in a friendly at Ibrox just after Robbie Keane signed. We were booed for singing Fields of Anfield Road and Keane definitely wasn't given a cordial welcome by the vast majority of Rangers fans.

To the honest rangers fans out there I genuinely feel sorry for you that complete delusional people like this are exactly the type that no club needs! Still keep it up matt, i'm sure if you keep trying you might get something right, might!

Agree0 Disagree0

It is an ability of humankind how we can write and rewrite history to suit our needs.

ie.

Some say the moon landings never existed.

Some say the holocaust never existed.

Some say that aliens exist.

I say that my team, The Famous Glasgow Rangers were dealt a disgraceful card by ALL in Scottish Football, in particular the silent ones, who stated that they did not believe in getting involved in other footballing business, but felt it necessary to write a disparaging letter to the SFA.

During that disgraceful period that The Famous Glasgow Rangers were fighting all and sundry, Ally McCoist had to try and lift his team, however, the rumours were rife that the club were going to fold and no salaries would be paid. Can you imagine what this would do to the football team? This team who were 18 points clear and coasting over Mr lemmons rebuilt supertroopers. Well it was catastrophic, they collapsed. Hardly surprising as the media was full of doom and gloom scenarios regarding what was going to happen To The Famous Glasgow Rangers. The illegal leaking of the tax case caused untold damage to my great club, the most successful club in the history of football, and contributed in the capitulation of the team. The perpetrators are still at large, but I can hazard a guess at their footballing persuasion and allegiance.

In all of this only one club - one club, has had any benefit. Wonder who?

Their manager is now being hailed as a hero, a genius, a kind of wunderkind!

You have to laugh, really at how this has come about. All of Scotland has been taken for a ride. All of Scotland has been brainwashed.

Mind you, what goes around comes around!

Given a level playing field, we all know what will happen.

We will prevail.

Mr lemmon is standing on the shoulders of GIANTS and they do not like it - they are going to bite his bum!

@11 Craig whyte never gave Ally any money to spend remember the 7 bids for 1 player which still didn't hit the £1.8m mark. Ally had work with players he got for free after administration except temps he is the only player we have paid for in the past few years and even at that we didn't hit the £1m mark. Lennon had a good team, then took the players rangers went after ok looking at it now the players made the correct choice but still followed rangers targets the same I'm sure rangers done to Celtic in the past. As for lawell being on sfa board don't think he should be there when still incharge of Celtic!

"I say that my team, The Famous Glasgow Rangers were dealt a disgraceful card by ALL in Scottish Football"

Matt surely this should read "I say that my team, The Famous Glasgow Rangers were dealt a disgraceful card by ALL who have and are running the club. "

Scottish football never put you into administration, Scottish football never made all those players walk away, Scottish football never sold your club for a £1, Scottish football never withheld Rangers tax & NI, Scottish football never put you into liquidation, Scottish football never asked for account so that you could join the bottom tier. In fact Scottish football has bent over backwards to help your club remain in existance.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

@11: what about all the other SFA board members who are on other clubs' boards?

Matt, when you brought up brainwashing in your post 13 I was skeptical. I believed that the human brain was just too complex to be deviated from its beliefs so easily by another person. However, I looked through your old posts for some evidence of your claim and you have proven me wrong.
Matt, you can trust me, I'm a doctor and I have some bad news for you; have been brainwashed - by an animated meerkat. Simples.

Al (the original one)

p. s. I have to agree with poster 18, although I wouldn't have used such a juvenile disparaging term as him. So when are you going to come out as a Celtic fan?

Matt, you need to stop with this nonsense mate. At the end of the day, everyone has accepted that Rangers is still Rangers. Our fans, media, pundits, journalists, the vast majority of opposing fans (aka the decent opposing fans) and of course ex players from Celtic, Rangers you name it. They have all accepted the truth.

The only ones who haven't are the pathetic, bitter fans of CFC and other clubs who can't do it simply because they want to hang on to any thread they possibly can to take their clubs ahead of us in the pecking order. The reality is that they know as well as we do that Rangers is and always will be the biggest and most successful football club in Scotland.

Let them continue to spread their hate and lies. It's sad yet hilarious and if anything we should all be feeling sorry for them.
