Far too many jumping on the negativity of the media and demanding players get dropped, it's a chance taking and mistake making sport simple.

Get behind them.

Get the same team out and let them right their wrongs.

09 Nov 2018 19:37:50
my team for Sunday would be -

McGregor

Flanagan
McAuley
Katic
Halliday

Tavernier
JACK
Ejaria

Greza
Morelos
Middleton

reasoning - would like to see if Flanagan is better on the right, Katic needs to gain confidence back, and if it doesn't work for Flanagan he can be hooked for McCrorie with Tav moving back

just a thought.
And no abuse please, i AM entitled to an opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

09 Nov 2018 20:14:52
Mcgregor tav goldson macauley halliday rossiter jack arfield grezda Middleton morelos.

09 Nov 2018 20:40:50
Connor goldson starts for me, as our no.1 centre half every week! Although he had a poor game, by his standards against spartak, he's still easily our best centre half!
Its a permatation of worrall, katic and mcauley, as to who partners goldson!

09 Nov 2018 21:39:11
Our biggest weakness is our right back, he is posted missing when it matters. Watch where we lose goals, and you will note the bulk of them are caused by the gaps he leaves. The gaps are the equivalent of dk18's gub.

09 Nov 2018 21:50:21
It's a hard one to call between Worrall and McAuley.
McAuley has loads of experience but it's another change in central defence.
We have no Candieas so if Grezda starts he will need to do work offensively and defensively likewise with Middleton.

Either Rossiter or Ejaria will start.
If Lafferty is still not recovered from injury we will possibly need to have Dallas on the bench.
What's the situation with Ross McCrorie?

09 Nov 2018 22:42:36
No abuse from me ritchie1 that's the team I would have picked apart from Macaulay.

10 Nov 2018 00:28:36
Far too many gers player's lose their men in dead ball situations even if you can't win it you have to put them off. It's called basics that's why Tav will never be a defensive fullback (in my opinion) he needs to be replaced . We need more steel in our side I'm sure SG knows that.

10 Nov 2018 01:02:43
Billyb, you do realise that Tav is our captain and right back? Just checking you aren’t thinking back to 2012 along with our accounts!

10 Nov 2018 09:33:18
We need to see McAuley in action, hopefully he can shore up our leaky defence. I’m not concerned about his age, we are needing his experience I feel!

10 Nov 2018 17:07:12
Definatly rossiter for me.

10 Nov 2018 07:12:33
lets get something straight i'm fully behind gerrard we have come along way in a short time under him, fantastic run in europe, was never expected, we were never going to win it where we. bank the money gladly, if we make next stage amazing when you consider his budget. how ever league form has suffered, he has a blind spot for players, tav costs us games, eejiera lost form doesn't warrant a place every week, lassana inconsistent. these two cannot start in same team, weakens the midfield. goldston needs dropped honeymoon over, I've thought since Motherwell game been bad, shocker in Moscow.

midfield has no energy at all, far to many average players fighting for position. gerrad is on right tracks moving forward, as for numptys, in beginning of season crying out for morelos to be sold for 2 million, get a grip. our best asset by far who will go for big money.

10 Nov 2018 17:14:01
Billyb totally agree re Tav, I'm not a fan.

10 Nov 2018 17:15:57
DK18 I'm sure Billy knows he is captain, I'm sure it's part of a move to increase value, I have never in 55 years seen a player who has cost us so many goals since he signed.

10 Nov 2018 21:19:35
Hope we stick with Goldson tomorrow. He and Flanagan were poor on Thursday and largely responsible for losing the match, but want him to have opportunity to redeem himself against Motherwell.

09 Nov 2018 17:30:47
Ejaria seems to have hit an easy ride on here after last nights performance- everyone banging on about our defense- but lost count how many times he gave the ball away - twice it led to goals. Also why no Ryan jack 🤔.

09 Nov 2018 18:02:31
Agree completely, would have had Ejaria off at half time for Jack. McRorie on for Coulibaly around the hour mark.

09 Nov 2018 19:00:08
I've said on here many times ejaria and coulibaly are not a good partnership. Both go missing throughout the matches.

09 Nov 2018 19:15:23
I can’t remember any big games were Ryan jack has shown up either, Gerrard could get a game instead of the entire midfield!

09 Nov 2018 20:19:53
I've said right from the beginning of season I wouldn't play ejaria away from home, puts us under pressure constantly by getting caught on the ball. he gets far too much praise from some on here imo. Loads of ability but his decision making on the ball is atrocious at times.

09 Nov 2018 20:43:33
Again in our midfield i'll reiterate what i've said all along, ryan jack plays in our midfield, every week! He keeps the ball moving and protects the 2 centre halfs! He does the ugly work in midfield, superbly well!

10 Nov 2018 03:03:17
Jack is an average premier league player who slows the game down too much. Absolutely no creativity and no goal threat either.

10 Nov 2018 09:44:31
Arthur D totally agree about Ryan jack. He slows the game down and always plays the easy pass too often. Where this is ok for most teams but when you are playing against teams with packed defences it’s too slow.

10 Nov 2018 13:47:42
Arthur D and Baz the bear, ryan jack is a defensive midfielder, NOT a creative midfielder, there's a difference you know guys!

10 Nov 2018 14:06:25
Feck used to call Barry side pass ferguson when advocat managed. Break up play Get the ball, keep possession and then give to creative player who is meant to do the damage. Thought everyone knew that. 😀.

09 Nov 2018 14:51:52
Yeah, we probably should have won last night. But ATM never going to slate SG. I think we're short hard midfielder and another class CF but ATM out OF SG hands. Think last night was wonderful benchmark for Gers in top class football. We more than held our own, scored three, looked best team first half certainly and can come home head held high. I think it was a show how we play against class opposition and problems against lower league opposition like Livingston. That is a problem.

09 Nov 2018 15:50:06
OMG WTF.

09 Nov 2018 16:55:44
Goldson and Flanagan both extremely poor last night and cost us the match.

09 Nov 2018 17:13:05
Total over reaction. Only lost one out of twelve in Europe.

09 Nov 2018 19:21:00
The entire defence was a shambles! Goldson has been our best player this season so I can forgive him for last night. We need a centre back who is off equal are better quality to play beside Goldson. Last 2 matches Katic has played he’s been abysmal far to rash in tackles lucky not to give away a penalty last night, I’d rest Goldson on Sunday as he’s probably played every game.

09 Nov 2018 22:10:14
Defend as a team and not all goals lost are because of defenders, ejaria lost the ball which led to a goal candeias let his man run off him for a goal for example.

09 Nov 2018 14:40:16
Blame Supercoop for this, sorry Coop, Nathaniel Clyne can't get near the Pool team. Before you all start screaming "we can't afford his wages" there are plenty of instances of clubs paying a percentage of players wages. IF we sell Tav. I think it would be well worth SG asking the question.

09 Nov 2018 19:00:52
Another loan?

09 Nov 2018 19:21:43
Well there’s probably not much money to spend on permanent signings.

10 Nov 2018 00:25:09
I think we need the John Greig mentality - up against better players? So what! They are just skin and bone it's the belief desire bravery and will to win that suceeds every time. That's what is needed bears.

09 Nov 2018 14:14:49
Think its time some of our players change their boots or try different studs as I'm sick watching these players slip at every turn, goldson especially. Get a left footer in at left back also.

09 Nov 2018 18:04:12
What’s happened to Wallace? Surely he’s got to be a better option than Flanagan while Barasic is injured.

09 Nov 2018 20:22:56
Lee Wallace is done in a rangers shirt mate. The only reason he didn't leave in summer as no one would pay him close to what he earns at us, rangers were desperate to get him off the wage bill.

10 Nov 2018 17:16:11
Wish folk would stop going on about Wallace he is injured again and has hardly kicked a ball in two years.

09 Nov 2018 13:38:54
I think if we look at our defence, using last nights game as an example, we are what we are. Simply not good enough, or confident enough to close out games. Tav is great at running forward but not a great defender at right back. Flannagan is simply being played out of position and Katic seems to have lost his mojo since being dropped. SG need to look at the midfield and install a strong go forward mentality. Too much sand dancing folks and not enough playmaking. We all know what's missing but finances will be a hurdle for us for a wee while to come.

09 Nov 2018 12:28:00
Rangers defenders sometimes need to launch it when in doubt instead of fannying about with the ball in or around the 18yd box.

09 Nov 2018 13:28:28
Spot on mate.

09 Nov 2018 10:47:05
When will basik be fit? He brings balance to the team.

09 Nov 2018 10:34:55
Think we all need to calm down. We have only lost one game in Europe.

09 Nov 2018 10:50:09
Agree Jason, but absolutely gutted with that performance 🇬🇧.

09 Nov 2018 11:33:51
Individual mistakes yately, I thought it was a decent performance we hit them on the break well, but like I said stupid mistakes and a goal that should of stood cost us.

09 Nov 2018 11:47:20
Agreed to the above think it’s time macca is brought in to replace Goldie, he is definitely off form that last few weeks and play with Katic.

09 Nov 2018 12:15:56
Think it’s time we as Rangers supporters have a look at ourselves, cast our mind back the last 7 years and where we are now, can’t keep giving managers 1 year to get ya in front of Celtic and if they can’t get close then the revolving door turns, board have made a bold appointment in SG and you can see the difference all over the club, you have to give him at least 2 seasons to put his stamp on the playing side and this year already is a marked difference compared to previous seasons granted our league form is inconsistent but the league is tight and the results in Europe are what could only have dreamt of in June, as for last night the tactics worked perfectly only for mistakes for every goal that players have not made up until this point.
It’s about time we got behind our team 100% all of us, we have no divine right to win trophies but we’ve got to earn the right to win again not just players but us supporters too. # Let’s go, in SG we trust🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧.

09 Nov 2018 13:55:41
Hardly anyone is asking for Gerard to be sacked and most agree he needs time. Fans are just concerned with some of the really poor performances especially against a dire Aberdeen side and Livingston. The team seems to play very slowly and lacks any real creativity.

09 Nov 2018 17:16:57
100% correct ArthurD 👍🇬🇧.

09 Nov 2018 19:02:45
There was plenty of creativity last night it was the defending that was honking.

10 Nov 2018 03:06:30
Sweep1

Where was the creativity against Aberdeen, Celtic and Livingston?

10 Nov 2018 16:18:50
@JB - 100% agree. Not one of us thought we’d still be in contention to qualify from this group after 4 games as Spartak and Villarreal were clear favourites. But Gerrard brought the feel good factor back with some brilliant performances in the qualifying rounds. It tells us where we are as a team that we’re disappointed with a defeat in Moscow 👍
This is only the beginning - keep the faith troops👍.

10 Nov 2018 16:21:46
Well said eva.

09 Nov 2018 09:56:06
In my opinion we have too many players at ibrox who are not good enough to match our expectations. We have players playing out of position and some whose confidence is shot. Too much rotation especially in defence and a young manager learning the job. The result last night and against livingston away and the sheep suggests a long season ahead.

09 Nov 2018 10:46:14
But vastly improved from last year!

09 Nov 2018 10:50:11
ar9

There are a lot of very average players in the squad who wouldn’t be guaranteed a game at Hibs or Hearts. Some of the performances have been dire and there seems to be a lack of urgency. It’s worrying when you can lose to such a bad Aberdeen side and not lay a glove on Livingston. Also had it not been for McGregor another old firm humping would have been handed out. Long season ahead with another battle for 2nd place.

09 Nov 2018 11:49:12
What players mate?

09 Nov 2018 08:52:57
Totally fed up with this tinkering with back 4 settle on our best 4. Particularly the center back pairing Couilbally gone so cold, Ryan Jack should be in the team IMO. can't believe we score 3 away from home and still get beat we can't expect Morelos to be on it every week he's human where do we turn if he gets injured or the inevitable suspension Think we need to be looking at back up in January or if he's fit get Laff playing more regularly.

09 Nov 2018 11:09:40
On the subject off Coulibaly it's a mystery how his form has dipped. The guy showed he's a good player at start of season. If he hadn't showed anything since arriving then I would worry but he was one of our better players up till his injury.

09 Nov 2018 08:33:39
I think we are starting to see why A 2nd rate french team we’re prepared to let Coulibaly go on loan for me is doesn’t do anything particularly well. Midfield is definitely the problem I don’t see how Docherty can’t get in that team, we need a creative midfielder in January and dare I say it a Scott brown type player that we haven’t had in years and certainty a left back because Halliday and Flanagan certainly aren’t the answer. Current squad probably assembled for around 7million that’s not good enough if we want to challenge for the title considering Celtic went out and got a striker for more than that.

09 Nov 2018 10:17:36
I agree with the Scott Brown type. We are still desperately lacking a leader for a captain. Should have made McGregor captain.

10 Nov 2018 16:16:51
When doc went on loan Coulibaly was on fire . his injury against st Mirren has set him well back.

10 Nov 2018 16:22:39
36 u and others go on about how we need a left back, Flanagan and Halliday not good enough. All about opinions but we have a two million left back Barisic.

Review Of The Day 9th November 2018

09 Nov 2018 07:29:14
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 9th November 2018

09 Nov 2018 01:31:05
Possibly after the start we have had to our euro campaign our expectations became a little too high. We can still quality and I think we will.

We still have a few young, naive at times players, who will find their ground and gain trust as the season unfolds.

With a few more editions come January and perhaps a stronger mature leader, someone in the middle of the park who can snap at those struggling.

I'm hopeful and can't fault effort. It's a big jigsaw and we're adding week by week.

09 Nov 2018 06:48:39
I think you are wrong, be lucky to get a point out last 2 games.

09 Nov 2018 07:08:05
Agreed jardine reality check time think back to last year progress niederkorn or even starting out against shkupi did any1 honestly think we would have it in our own hands to qualify with 2 games to go i very much doubt it, yes individual mistakes have been made by manager n players alike but feck me give me this compared to the last 6 years. 🔴⚪🔵.

09 Nov 2018 08:23:14
Did anybody really, honestly expect us to reach the Europa League group stages this season even after SG was appointed? I certainly didn't. To score 3 goals away from home in Moscow is no mean feat. We need to beat Villareal at Ibrox then go all out in Vienna in the last game. I agree some players are still maturing but surely Jack should be one of the first names on the team sheet? Also, Dorrans and Murphy are out long term and we missed Kent. I'd rather we pick up form in the league now and any further progress in Europe will be a bonus.

09 Nov 2018 08:34:00
We should have won that game, a fourth goal wrongly chopped off. 4-2 and its a different game. Our defending was comical as was theirs. They were lucky for their fourth goal. Strange game, 3 points dropped👍.

09 Nov 2018 08:43:41
Thought it was a great game last night and for all our poor attacking play domestically we looked sharp up top, just shows what an open game can look like. Defensive errors cost us anything from the game and I feel that if McAuley is now fit we need to see if he can shore up our leaky defence. Not one player has done enough in central defence to merit being a guaranteed starter so let’s see what an old pro can do against Motherwell. Personally I’d play Katic alongside him and see how they get on. I’d also like to see Rossiter come into midfield and Middleton keep his place.

09 Nov 2018 10:27:52
Wee bear you are wrong it was a poor game littered with mistakes.

09 Nov 2018 10:53:34
Sweep1

All depends how Villareal approach the game at Ibrox. If they fancy it then they will win comfortably as for Rapid think we will be doing well to get a point.

10 Nov 2018 16:17:40
Rossiter could be the difference . defence tired.
