recently i got shot down for mentioning Rory McAllister as a possible Rangers goal poacher. read the figures-

peterhead games 138 goals 92
brechin city games 63 goals 40

this season so far peterhead games 17 goals 17

can somebody tell me what current Scottish player has better figures?
ok he's not in a top league, but he must be doing SOMETHING right
I would get him in on a 2 year deal in January.

{Ed039's Note - 2 years too late I'm afraid)

It was a player i thought about when we did get demoted, However i am surprised a smaller SPL club has not took a punt on him tho.

{Ed039's Note - He was not interested in moving because clubs were interested, he was completing his studies at Aberdeen I believe and Peterhead was very convenient for him)

Same was said about Nicky Clark but look what has happened to him!

10 Nov 2015 21:13:15
McAllister is better than Clark.

Rory mcallister would undoubtedly score a barrowload of goals in this current rangers team and like wee bill said wouldn't be a risk and most certainly worth a punt, our new chief scout frank mcparland said in his interview today that he'll be looking at scotland first and foremost for young talent for rangers to sign, I wonder what young players mcparland will identify for us to sign? Has anyone any ideas of names of young scottish players that we're likely to move for?

Its obviously no comparison but look what vardy is doing in epl. Gems can be found in lower leagues and let's face it he wouldn't be breaking the bank. Not much risk.

09 Nov 2015 19:33:24
He's only 28. would it not be worth a gamble for both club and player?
he would get a decent wage and we might get some goals? I understand your reasoning though.

11 Nov 2015 12:11:25
I said it last week when wee bill brought this up. Maybe he could do a job but he's happy to remain part-time. He's not been short of offers either.

Anyone know exactly what warbs wants as he has recently rejected an ex Barcelona player and a man city prospect not slagging him but he must have high standards.

09 Nov 2015 10:47:43
Obviously he didn't think they're better than we already have. No point taking them purely on the basis of who they play, or used to, play for.

09 Nov 2015 11:08:20
Surely it is better than signing players from watching 'Youtube', and I would suspect that the players in question just didn't shine during their trial periods. Perhaps he felt they would not offer enough to the squad.

09 Nov 2015 11:41:25
Was at Barcelona and city years ago last club was a 2nd or 3rd division Spanish team guys obviously not interested/useless or he would have a had a career lol.

09 Nov 2015 12:28:09
Warbs always said if they aren't 100% bought into playing for Rangers then they won't. Assaidi must have an attitude problem, clearly a gifted footballer, but apparently he turned down the chance to extend his trial for another week. The kid from City didn't seem to last more than a few days so no idea what that was about! Personally don't see the need of attack minded midfielders, I've seen enough of the way the U20's play to know we are well stocked in that department.

Weeman if you haven't realised that Warburton has high standards yet then you're obviously not paying attention. Every time the man is pressed on New players he's been telling us the same things.

Players coming into the squad must be of a sufficient quality to offer something we currently lack. Not only this background checks will be done to ensue prospective players have the right attitude and clean lifestyle. This is done to minimize the chances of upsetting a strong squad harmony and mentality.

This clearly highlights the quality of the man. If similar standards were adhered to two years ago we would be competing for premier league title this season.

Gazza
Which is why we will never approach hibs for Jason Cummings. Well said.

09 Nov 2015 15:41:31
Agreed seeker, he's trouble and best given a wide berth.

10 Nov 2015 10:26:02
Mr warburton and his assistant have been superb for rangers, just because a player used to be at a higher level doesn't give them a right to sign for us, as he said it's not just their ability on the park, it's how they are off the pitch to, in warburton we trust, btw after being linked to the q. p. r job he said he is flattered but he's at Glasgow Rangers for the long haul, get in there son, WATP.

I was watching the fa cup highlights show and watched the Colchester game and they had a guy George moncur don't know much about him but I think he would score for fun up here and wouldn't cost much what you guys think.

09 Nov 2015 22:55:14
Moncur was with AFCW a few seasons ago and didn't set the heather alight - definitely not Rangers class.

09 Nov 2015 11:45:03
Got to remember who he was up against non league players . he had a spell on loan at partick thistle a few years ago only played 2 games not sure he's better than what we have at the moment to be honest . i think we need better quality if we are going up to SPL.

09 Nov 2015 01:46:21
Just one for all you loan haters out there young zelalem was absolutely first class against Alloa seems to have recovered from injury and he ran the whole game bout time some on here have them a chance before slagging them.

09 Nov 2015 08:49:26
Yep, credit where it's due. Didn't quite set the heather alight first few games but as you say, he was different class at the weekend.
Glad we have that monkey off our back now. Hopefully we will go on another unbeaten run, a win against Hibs at Xmas should all but about do it for this season!

09 Nov 2015 10:25:40
The boy was good, but bear in mind it was Alloa we were playing. And we're still rotten at the back.
