Anyone else think Lewis Stevenson would be a good signing? 31 but 3 years left in him and real 90 minute man.

09 May 2019 23:19:53
No, in short. Only LB I’d look at in Scotland is Taylor at Kilmarnock, eleven then I feel we need far better to challenge consistently.

09 May 2019 23:51:37
Haha, I’ll take the bait and ask what you’re on?
Don’t take drugs children.

10 May 2019 00:25:18
we already have the best left back in Scotland, trouble is he spoke back and has been treated like rubbish ever since and now he is about to walk away, even though he doesn't want to.

10 May 2019 09:40:43
Wallace is rubbish ritchie, let it go 👍.

10 May 2019 12:29:03
Ritchie, Wallace time is over, move on.

10 May 2019 12:59:41
I think Stevenson is a solid FB and seems to perform consistently well.

10 May 2019 14:06:51
Bizzym u on the glue.

11 May 2019 10:55:58
we need to stop taking players at the end of their career, we need players we can improve and sell on. if we don't we will always stand still, short term pain for long term gain.

09 May 2019 20:53:30
Mexer signs for Bordeaux on a 4yr deal.

09 May 2019 20:40:41
As its confirmed now that our rennes centre half target, mexer has officially signed a 4 year contract tonight, with bordeaux, i wonder what centre half we'll target now. A good few on here mention millwall centre half jake cooper, who the majority of us have seen playing. He's a good commanding centre half who would definitely be worth paying the £4million asking price for. He's also still at a very decent age. He seemed to be always gerrard's no.1 centre half target, from the offset. Hope we can now go and get him signed up.

09 May 2019 21:59:10
Cooper is a good prospect but not significantly better than Worrell. Should never have let the Ginger Ramos get away.

10 May 2019 13:27:55
Firstly I don't recall SG saying Mexer was a target? And Jake Cooper is worth double what you are quoting SC11 ALL DAY LONG.

10 May 2019 17:07:17
L17MAC, I agree totally that jake cooper is a very good centre half but if millwall are looking for £8million for him, then just like mexer, he won't be signing for us. I do believe we should test the water with a £4-£5million bid for him. We most definitely know Stevie G rates him. There's no way we can or will spend £8million to get him mate.

10 May 2019 17:54:12
SC11 worth £8 Million at least with the prices down south mate all day everyday and Millwall know it, we bid 3 they said no, he signed a new deal in Dec 2018 out our range mate.

11 May 2019 02:30:45
What’s Gerrard using his own 4 million 😂.

09 May 2019 19:33:03
I feel like everyone has chucked shagger under the bus.
why have we only seen one angle of this (along the 18yard line), there were other cameras including from behind the goal in the broomloan rear! #freeshagger.

09 May 2019 20:03:27
Shagger chucked himself under the bus. Great keeper but he has the brain of a pea.

The feigning injury bit was the icing on the cake. Almost as stupid as his scratching face/ Vicky sign all those years ago.

The guy needs to grow up.

09 May 2019 20:29:04
You have in shagger what we have in brown. When he's caught it's a conspiracy when he gets away with it, it's part of the game.

It's football, their professionals, they maybe should know better, but we know they don't or aren't bothered.

Being going on since 1888 and in your case 2012 ( lol 1873.) .

09 May 2019 21:26:51
Haven't seen anybody apart from ftw even remotely try and defend McGregor after his pathetic antics. These pages are normally filled with the unwashed trying to make every excuse under the sun for peanut heid. He could literally commit something unlawdul and you lot would find a good reason for it. So nothing like the same.

09 May 2019 23:11:35
Staggers finest moment was when he called the police to say he got jumped at a taxi rank, when indeed it turned out to be his Mrs.

09 May 2019 23:41:01
McGregor has been thrown under the bus because he deserves it i'm afraid. This has been the 4th or 5th time he's lashed out at someone this season and it's frustrating because he's such an important player for us. He's one of these people that always looks like he's spoiling for a fight these days.

09 May 2019 18:54:29
Jboy I see on the rumour page you say ryan Kent is a done deal for £5.5m. Which bring me to my point, if rumours are true that £13m we need to find plus RK wages ( Kent deal and close brothers £7.5m) . Add Ashley bill and legal fees and we could be talking £20m before we even pay the lecky bill.

09 May 2019 19:39:16
Oh your back, IoM. U r the expert on our money, so u contact he board and tell them how they don't know what there doing.

09 May 2019 20:30:14
Glad to see you back iom, should now get interesting with the close season looming.

09 May 2019 09:49:21
So apparently there's a few clubs wanting tav. What's you thoughts on this.

09 May 2019 10:05:46
Villa want him, 3mil and hutton and its a deal👍.

09 May 2019 10:09:30
He's out of contract at villa, could be a great freebie. 👍.

09 May 2019 10:10:06
I wouldn't listen to anything less than £10 million.

09 May 2019 10:21:35
With his goals and assists this season it has to be big figures! Could you imagine a right back in the English championship with that record he would be going for 30plus million.

09 May 2019 10:25:08
Someone else would score our pens if tav left👍.

09 May 2019 12:10:04
Look how highly players such as Trippier in the Premiership are rated. I read someone was looking at him for £18 million. He only scores now and again and he is bang average. Granted he might be able to defend. Unless anyone comes to the table with £10 million + then they can forget it.

09 May 2019 12:22:44
I tend to sway with souness_ on this one. Clubs from england think they can just cherry pick our top players up here for buttons. I truly don't think steven gerrard or our board will allow this to happen with tav and morelos. If clubs are serious about signing james tavernier, then we as a club for our undoubted loss,
have to make sure they pay top dollar to sign tav. Souness has it spot on for me, as i would be asking for £10million minimum, for the services of tav! Don't want to lose tav, or any of our top players for that matter, but money talks and every club in scotland is a selling club. Just the way it is.

09 May 2019 12:28:25
Modern day attacking full back who brings so much to the team. Made out a scapegoat all season on here when things haven’t went our way. Wouldn’t take any less than 8.

09 May 2019 15:37:21
No offence but Tavernier is not in the same class as trippier! As much as I like tav he’s championship level at best!

09 May 2019 15:43:41
HURRAH! The annual Alan Hutton link has been posted! He was p**h when we sold him 15 years ago, so why now, in 2019? Nobody that knows anything about football or has any love for Rangers would swap Tav for Mutton in a million years.

09 May 2019 16:08:00
36thulsterdivision - your man Trippier was shown up big time last night. He's p**h, pure and simple - i'd have Tav over him any day of the week.

09 May 2019 16:22:40
He was playing in the champions league semi final! Not against some pathetic Scottish team.

09 May 2019 16:23:05
Tav before trippier, you're on crack😩👍.

09 May 2019 16:31:38
Tavernier struggled down south prior to joining us in the championship, he has probably improved but not for the millions quoted. if he can improve defending maybe. remember he didn't make the grade at Wigan.

09 May 2019 16:59:14
I’d rather keep him for another year but if we sell he’s worth NORTH of £7.5 Million MINIMUM!

09 May 2019 18:08:34
Lol Coldo, says the man that says sell the captain and buy Alan Hutton instead. Anything you ever say again after that is laughable.

09 May 2019 19:03:59
Why would any English team pay "top dollar" for any un-tested player. Looking good in Scotland is not good enough for English teams. Some people on here have a poor sense of reality.

09 May 2019 20:08:32
5M top whack for Tav at best. I think we will sell and move Flanagan to rb and bring in another to compete at a low price.

09 May 2019 22:28:32
Hutton would be a free and would be a more than capable replacement for tav, having played at a higher level than tav all his career. Why is that laughable souness? 😂👍.

09 May 2019 22:34:50
Correct styab👍.

09 May 2019 21:16:11
No other team on the planet gets 17 penalties a season so no good to anyone else.

09 May 2019 21:17:23
Waghorn didn't do the business down south before he signed for us. Came here, improved and went back down and found success. Tav has improved massively while here and he's now in his prime. Waghorn never done great for us in the top league yet sold for £8m? Tav is one of the best in the league. More assists that POTY nominee and winger James Forrest. More assists than creative mid Rogic being touted at £15m. Why would we even consider less than £10m for our captain with stats like his?

09 May 2019 23:42:33
Agreed with Coldo. Hutton has had a much better career than Tav will ever have. Hutton on a free and £5m for Tav I would bite your hand off.

10 May 2019 00:24:32
his assists stats are really impressive penalty stats are out of this world but the 1 stat that everyone has suddenly forgot about is how many goals have rangers conceded that’s came from a Tavernier mistake?

10 May 2019 09:42:57
The swagman, its a no brainer mate. Would be great business sense for the club👍.

09 May 2019 09:48:53
RECOGNITION FOR RANGERS WAR TITLES!

🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆.

09 May 2019 10:47:28
I’m all for consistency however how anybody could celebrate a trophy won during war time is beyond me, completely disgusting.

09 May 2019 11:11:48
Completely disgusting? Have a word with yourself. So the thousands upon thousands that attended those games to forget about the worlds problems are completely disgusting? What about the titles during the Falklands or other conflicts should we just forget about them too?

09 May 2019 13:24:45
C of ibrox.

Learn some history before you sprout garbage. all Scottish teams suffered the lose of many players through both call up and voluntering. The larger clubs probably more than others.

The league set ups were suspended and local leagues introduced.

Since world war 2, all conflicts and wars have been fought by volunteers or persons on national service, there has been no general call up. That also included the Falklands conflict and gulf wars.

You mention service like it's just another job, believe me it thankfully is except, when on board ships waiting to enter port Stanley, doing an aircraft service with live fire around you, or a solider walking the many roads during any conflict or pulling a stag in a conflict zone.

You show no respect to the many that served, were injured or paid the ultimate price, with your whinging about war titles, as do others from my side who dispute the official list.

Banter is one thing. disrespect another.

09 May 2019 14:36:43
Well said anotherhampden, as an ex serviceman myself I couldn't agree more.

09 May 2019 14:53:32
Cheers cletusvandamme. sixteen years in the air force myself, would have done 22 but for redundancy due to downsizing. Served in many zones with different branches of the services, have friends and colleagues who supported many clubs in Scotland and the uk, and the banter was always good but no one every raised this stupid subject.

09 May 2019 15:26:03
Ed, apologies if my response wasn’t constructive enough, my blood was boiling and I was struggling to believe what I was reading. I think Anotherhamdenwin sums my view up nicely.

09 May 2019 15:42:14
Wind your neck in! He made a suggestion so what. I’ve got news for u your not the only 1to ever serve in the Armed forces! And you don’t speak for every ex service man including me.

09 May 2019 17:02:01
17 years in the British Infantry, 7 medals for my troubles. Each to their own. Chill out.

09 May 2019 17:03:11
North Irish Horse, but only T A.

09 May 2019 17:14:16
Wheres my replys?

09 May 2019 18:56:02
36Ulsterdivision. I need to ask did you only serve with rangers supporters. would love to know your serve branch, your regimental unit, station, ship or royal marine company.

09 May 2019 19:01:37
An ex service man myself, I think reading the posts its clear we need to tone down the replies a tad. Each is entitled to their opinion, I've not read anything that would call for an angry response, more open a debate, even if some find the topic distasteful, you can always ignore.

Also I think the OP has a point with regards to the apparent hypocrisy in celebrating during more recent conflicts/ wars. Accepted, nothing can really compare to WW1 and 2 however in recent years our men and women were being blown to bits in the desert and thousands of them were at constant risk of death or severe injury many months at a time over a number of years.

Ibrox was still full at the weekend and rightly so, life goes on, life must go on, that's the British way. In private or with each other we remember our fallen brothers and sisters at times during the year, the day we cannot do that we fail as a society and our enemies have won. Unless your the recipient of a VC or GC your argument has to be watertight before taking the moral high ground on any subject. Just IMO though.

09 May 2019 19:34:57
Tjbb. Fully respect your view, and your right, none of us here today have made the ultimate sacrifice.

I pay respect in my own way every remembrance day and on particular dates highlighted by the rbl and various associations to pay homage on anniversaries that the general public now let slip, but I know many respect the fallen from Glasgow and scotland, and the links they have to them.

In particular I pay respect to James stokes VC, a friend of my late grandfather who died in 1945, who could have avoided service and claimed being in a reserved occupation but like many across our city and country put service before themself. I sure there were many from the rangers family who did the same thing.

Wearing a certain colour top has never been a question on any application for the services, and neither does the assentation ask you to swear allegiance to any football club.

09 May 2019 19:52:03
L17. trying to work out your service.

How close is it to this.

Northern Ireland gsm

African peace keeping. (1980/ 81)

Falklands conflict

Long service and good conduct.

Peace keeping un medal. Eastern Europe.

Gulf 1.

Queens 50th jubilee.

Not sure if I missed anything Or possible the wrong time period.

09 May 2019 19:57:39
Not that it really matters but I was in Royal Irish regiment! The point is you and a few others jumped down the guys throat for making a suggestion! And it isn’t just Scottish football that argues over the point people down south were arguing over who was Newcastle all time scorer because Jackie milburns goals during the war were not counted and some people thought they should of been!

09 May 2019 20:11:42
36 I am actually lol. knowing the make up of your unit. not many hoops in there.

Your right about records elsewhere and the structures in place at the time but I hope your like me in thinking that those around at that time would not be squabbling about titles or records as they served but more that people got to enjoy their sport and life as it was, as others did their duty home and abroad, as those locally did their own auxiliary duties as required.

09 May 2019 20:29:39
anotherhampdenwin i'm 42 lol

GSM NI
Accumulated campaign service medal
Op Telic (Iraq 2)

09 May 2019 20:36:59
Ed, can I congratulate you for allowing this good thread to continue. it's the wee hours with me so bedtime is looming. hopefully its active in the morning. also respect to all who turned out for steve charmers funeral, i saw several of his mates including peter mc cloy were in attendance. cheers.
John.

09 May 2019 20:48:57
L17 give you almost another 18 years on your age.

Got some right.

09 May 2019 20:51:32
No not many mate😂.

09 May 2019 21:28:43
All these wars you guys fought in puts me to shame, only war I fought in was when my wife wanted something and I said no. Oh I spent 5 years as a prisoner of war, does that count? 😝.

09 May 2019 22:48:30
RAF Regiment myself another hampden.

09 May 2019 08:06:54
There has been a lot of debate about our goalkeeping situation recently. I think it is safe to say that McGregor will still be no.1 next season but who would we all like to see as no.2?

Fods
McCrorie (Robbie)
Clark
Kelly
Another?

09 May 2019 09:52:34
Has to be robbie mccrorie👍.

09 May 2019 10:54:19
Robbie McCrorie.

09 May 2019 11:17:59
Ross McCorie.
Unbelievable record.

09 May 2019 16:08:51
Surely it’s time for McCrorie to be back up to McGregor next season? Give the young guy a chance and show there is a path for the young players into the 1st team.

09 May 2019 17:02:27
Robbie McCrorie.

09 May 2019 17:24:57
Next season the backup keepers will be Robbie McCrorie and Andy Firth.

Review Of The Day 9th May 2019

09 May 2019 07:29:12
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 9th May 2019

08 May 2019 22:58:50
Sami Nasri outta contract soon anyone think he still has it. Could he do a job or is he too old at 31.

09 May 2019 07:03:29
Wasn't Nasri a bit of a money grabber during his career? Highly doubt he would consider dropping to spfl wages when he could still make a mint elsewhere.

09 May 2019 07:53:24
Nasri was on about 60k a week at West Ham I am sure I read.

09 May 2019 08:27:34
As an arsenal fan I thought he was great but then he showed his true colours. Absolute mercenary with no class and no stomach for a fight.

09 May 2019 08:52:12
I don't think he would consider coming to scotland, could earn a lot more at a higher level. 👍.

09 May 2019 10:11:08
He's never going to come, we can't afford him and his attitude stinks.

09 May 2019 17:03:09
He’s trouble. We couldn’t afford him anyway.
