I know today was a poor performance but its hard to believe we are being ridiculed by fans of clubs who can't even reach the quarter finals.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whatever makes you feel better Gaz. Keep your head firmly in the sand

Agree0 Disagree0

As the saying goes. Youve got to be in it to win it

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not on here to defend Ally as that was poor yesterday to say the least but the players get an easy ride on here they have to take a long hard look at themselves Templeton had another shocker when has he done anything for us McCulloch is way past it Daily has been poor for months Aird lots of pace but poor on the ball Law had a poor game Black wasnt much better Mosni worked hard but isn't good enough Sheils was poor so to sum it up these players should hang their heads in shame but remember we have not bought a player they are all players who were out of contract with their clubs and we had to pay over the odds to get them but they are not good enoughdont know how we can replace them as we don't have the money don't see the point in sacking Ally right now it would only cost us money we don't have we will be promoted into the Championship so i'd give hime another year to try and get us back up to the top league if it does not improve next year or it looks like we are strugling then he would have to go but we can't just just to howl at the manager for every bad result without letting the players know they are as much to blame they were rotten yesterday and have been for months the pace they played at was far to slow we need to move the ball they are payed to entertain if they think we should be happy with that performance well their wrong and as for our board they must go and let men in who can raise investment we need to bring in players who can raise the standard of our game but as I've said i'm not defending Ally just can't see how we can afford to sake him in a bad place

Agree0 Disagree0

Cooperboy - the statistics would go some way to backing up your assessment of the players performance

33 attempts on goal! don't know how many corners and I can only think of one decent save the keeper had to make, when he tipped over big billys shot from 20yds

our finishing was dire

the strikers and midfield couldnae hit a coo on the erse wi a banjo

and jigs header across his own 6 yd box, enuff said

Perhaps for some light relief, fellow Bears could share their worst result/ performance that they remember. I know we have a lot more serious things to debate but the current situation is just about too much to bear. I was not born until 73 so I don't remember the infamous Jock Wallace / Berwick Rangers cup game. The two that stick in my mind are losing 3-0 away to Chesterfield in the Anglo-Scots cup in 81 and also getting beat 2-1 by Clydebank the week after Souness had been announced as player/manager. I have not checked any stats, these are from memory so apologies if the mind is playing tricks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Moravciks old firm debut, the game was a beam back at Ibrox, we were torn apart)

I'm only 22 & I have been at Ibrox for a few bad defeats especially In the cups last season & Malmo & the Maribor draw the year before was bad. Also the day Samaras scored a double in the 2nd half was my 1st old firm In 2011 that hurt but the worst was when I had my 1st season ticket & Ivan Sproule scored 3 goals in 27minutes right infront of my eyes in the broomloan end that was like 3 swift kicks too the nuts and a punch in the belly for good measure!

Agree0 Disagree0

Losing to Stirling Albion when they were bottom of the 3rd division last year was terrible but I honestly believe today was the worst I've ever felt watching rangers, ally should be handing his notice in, dean shiels should give his wage packet away to charity he was embarrassing today.

That was the mastermind at work today lads. Halfway through the second half n a goal down, the brain brings on a defender for a centre forward. What goes through his nut! Appalling performance today, have to say but, I did expect it the way recent performances have been of late. Exciting times ahead.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jon Daly was absolutely awful today hard to believe that's the same guy who put us to the sword in the same cup 2 years ago! Mohsni moved upfront took the ball round a defender & played a lovely ball out wide right away holding the ball up as a line striker should he actually made a difference & I think it turned out a good decision from McCoist. Law & Black in the middle is not working we can only play down the left it's god awful!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Last year Daly helped KO us)

Apologies Ed I'm just home from the pub seems an age ago. Before I get pelters I'm in no way sticking up for Ally I just think that was the only thing we could really do I'm unsure who else was on the bench but bringing on Little & moving Moshni upfront was really the only option Sheils & Daly were awful. A Crawford or Peralta wasn't going to change the game. We really do miss McLeod big time. I had to laugh today when Rangers had a corner Albion left 2 men a little but up the park even when they were 1 up when Albion had a corner we were all in the box that changed in the 2nd half right enough I can't remember if it was Aird or Little stayed up once I had to look twice at first I thought it was a fan who had took to the pitch. Embarrassing display today & to add to that embarrassment a bird sh*t on me in my 1st visit to the main stand in years I'm unsure if it brought us the luck we needed or not lol I'd like to thinkso as at 1-0 down with a big shoulder covered in sh*te I was in a very low place!

Agree0 Disagree0

They were to obvious with the play, get it to Lee Wallace. Foster should have been playing in Aird more on the right rather than going it alone to cross the ball. We do miss McLeod any word on when he's due back?.

Firstly if u think rangers are remotely good enuf to beat any of the other teams ure not understanding how bad this team is. amC seems to think black is a good player. He thinks aird and little are good? He believes daly is a gr8 striker. He took him off yesterday and brot on faure? That delies any logical football management thinking. He got very very lucky 2 mins later. Mcoist has now managed to show a complete lack of tactical knowledge. So much so he thinks himself and hately are up front with gazza. laudrup. steven. stevens. coop. robertson and gough behind him. He has lost the plot m8. And so it seems have you

Another shocking result in a 3 year run of shocking performances, does he still want to talk about football?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very true! I dread to think what's going to happen if we scrape through to the semi final, Dundee United will score a barrel load judging by their performance against Inverness today

Agree0 Disagree0

Not only is ally's time up but also half the team. ally has to shoulder most of the responsibility for being clueless when it comes to tactics and bawless when it comes to getting the team up for it. but how many times do we have to suffer mcCulloch and black humph balls 60yards up the park hoping for knock downs. worse than berwick rangers. please!please!please do walking away ally before your legacy is ruined and take McDowell, black foster, smith fuare, cribari, little, perry and peralta with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Play today was not pretty, but 33 shots in goal, 10 on target and 14 corners (BBC Scotland), would imply some endeavor, however, the passing was again poor, movement arthritic, and desire "flaccid".

Agree0 Disagree0

I would give the players the benefit of doubt purely because McCoist is TOTAL s****! I honestly believe a half decent Sunday league manager would do better. I think we should get rid of all the older and overseas players (and Ian Black) and get an experienced manager to mould the players we've got into a team, maybe add a couple of younger players if funds allow but that don't look likely. Today was another disappointment but if it gets McCoist out quicker then it'll be worth it.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2014 19:31:26
Another poor performance. I know Gers have won all but two of their league games and are in the final of one cup, about to win the League 1 title and are still probably favourites to reach the Scottish Cup semi-finals, but this standard of football is dreadful. All these over-hyped, over-paid players and where are the youngsters? They can't all be injured! Shocks do happen as with Man City against Wigan today and Morton against Celtic and Forfar v Rangers but McCoist simply cannot be allowed to remain in charge once we are in the Championship. We could be vying against Hearts, Dundee, Falkirk and Dunfermline next season to get up to the SPL and that won't be easy. Only 23,000 today for a Scottish Cup quarter final. Even if we do win through, Dundee United's 5-0 win over Caley is a cause to worry.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23,000 today if mccoist stays it will less & less every week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Game was on a sunday and telly counts for nothing. 6 mates and myself all season ticket holders no desire from any off us to go watch what we thought would be a walk in the park. Count it Wednesday night when Rangers are playing for the championship. As for the tactical comments earlier, McCoist deserved credit for flinging Moshni up he knew balls were coming in from corners and he knew there was a chance the big man could get on the end of one. He was stinking at the back, Daily was up awful and Moshni did play as a striker and has scored a barra load of goals since joining so I do not see that arguement I think you need to give McCoist a little respect. Everything is McCoists fault we win the league on Wednesday undefeated and have a cup final and potential further cup final. You need to be realistic we are not the Rangers of yesterday, McCoist is making the most of what we have. GET REAL!

Although todays result was frustrating and very poor team performance I thought Andy Little was superb when he came on. Daly should have come off not Shiels.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - I didnt see Little do anything when he came on)

There was nobody in a blue jersey who was superb only mediocre and that's being kind attendance tells everything 23000 cup quarter final at ibrox on a sunday at 3pm although everyone is p?? of with the boardroom battle if the football was good the attendances would be good the fans are voting with there feet if the boarf think witholding season money is aproblem the no one wanting to renew tickets would be massive u could not blame them the product stinks evert game is worse than the one before

Agree0 Disagree0

I hardly noticed little when he came in till the last five minutes

Agree0 Disagree0

U must be on the wind up if you think Little was superb when he came on. I'm afraid Little did nothing as usual and is it now 17 games since he scored? The team is rank rotten with no idea and too many less than average players in the team. Can anyone tell me what Foster brings to the table or Peralta or Smith or Cribari yet they are always in the squad. Sad to say McCulloch is done and Black is a liability in midfield and his slow play suits our opponents. Finally Ally should do the decent thing and fall on his sword. His ineptness is embarrassing

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2014 08:55:07
Watch it back before you comment then!. He came in and won 4-5 corners off the defender, and if you knew anything you would know the boys not long back from injury and McCoist has played him wide right & not Centre forward like he was when he was on scoring form last year. McCoist is doing the same thing with little as Smith did with Lafferty trying to changr the players position & ruining a good goal scorers career.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2014 18:26:08
Totally inept performance - in truth, today reflects the season. Totally tactically inept - reflects the season. I do not expect to win every match - or even perform at an exceptional level - but I do expect commitment and desire in every match. totally awful today.
Football is crap; Boardroom is crap; Chancers who 'have the best interests of the club at heart'. heard enough; Time to leave the building.

Ive never been so embarrassed by being a Rangers fan in nearly 50 yrs, Mcoist please walk away for gods sake, He was utterly clueless today, and Black? well he is an empty jersey, Moshni ran past him all the game, maybe he, s like a heedless chicken but he tried all game, Black wanted into a fight, and McCoist should have done the proper thing and replaced him at h/Time, after he had got himself booked again, We seem to have got it into our heads that guys like Daly, little, Sheils, Templeton are good players? they are not, they're what nobody else wanted, AMC is so out of his depth its scary, no width, no tactics and we couldn't even score when the opposition were falling down like flies, altho I suspect sum of that was tactical, I really had hope fore AMC and his backroom team, now I know they don't know what they're doing

I said on this blog before that there were Skeletons in the cupboard, Numpties in the Dug out and half wits on the Pitch. You can add a deteriorating stadium and a disgrace of a pitch.

Unless someone like Dave King starts an absolute 100% overhaul! embarrassing afternoons will be the norm. 20 quid a week players hungrier for a 50/50 challenge than 7,000 quid a week professionals.

Clear the Boardroom, clear the Dugout and have someone competent to have an honest look at the dressing room please Mr King.

Hats off to Albion Rovers.
How glaringly obvious do things need to be? Ally is NOT a Manager. These guys are earning £20 a week playing for Rovers and SHOULD be in the semi-final. Regardless of what is going on at the club, I'm sure any Manager with any tactical know how would have managed to progress into the semi-final. This showing was an utter disgrace.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more Ally is an embarrassment as manager but no doubt some people will come on and defend him. Another shocking performance which was one paced, lacked any creativity and was full of mis placed passes poor control and poor shooting. The club isn't moving forward both on and off the park and needs a clearout starting with the overpaid inept manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Super and his mates have trained good players into bad ones, he has no idea of tactics and very little idea about football in general, he is a charlatan ("a person who pretends to special knowledge or skill that he or she does not possess") words like "inept" "shocking" and "embarrassment" don't nearly describe McCoists time in charge and when we've eventually got him out surely questions will be asked about why he was paid so much for so little for so long!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2014 17:49:49
Questions have to be asked about ally today! Shocking performance. Why take of sheils for little rather than taking off someone like foster? And going 343? Then daly for faure? What was going through his mind? Been the same story all season no tactical awareness

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have a question about Ally, why so upbeat at the post match interview, it was like a guy standing in a hurricane saying the weather was fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

When your center forward is hitting the corner flag from a clear shot on goal ten yards out who is to blame?

We had enough chances to win three games the finishing was terrible, nobody can keep a shot under the height of the bar and the goal big jig gave away was even worse

Albion should get some credit for the way they battled though

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that this is dire but ironically the tactical switch worked! Can someone please explain what Dean Shields actually does? Again we look suspect at the back (sorry but McCulloch is a legend but is now past it), no creativity in midfield and Temps had another off day. Can anyone actually hit the target with a shot? I am grateful to Ally for all he did from Feb 12 onwards but we are a laughing stock both on and off the field. Dundee Utd will murder us and having watched the first hour of their farce against Caley our top division is akin to the fourth tier of the English game. It's heartbreaking, particularly when you read the schism between our own supporters. keep me away from anything sharp until the end of the season, please!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundee Utd. if we manage to to survive the replay with the mighty rovers.
Ffs the young guy who came on near the end works part time in Asda.
Utd must be quaking in their boots at the prospect of their semi final opponents, not sure what team they'll fear most getting through.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2014 17:41:50
Sack mccoist now, please. This is beyond a joke!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Should'nt need to sack him, he should walk now,

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha you kidding? We can dream but.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 an honest manager would walk but we don't have one. We have a money grabbing devious manager who thinks the fans are stupid enough to swallow his lies about not reading his contract. The man is an imposter and in order to cleanse the club he needs to go now

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Mar 2014 17:33:58
Worst team, manager and board of all time. A forward off for a defender then a defender up front.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2014 18:21:14
Ally's the worst Rangers manager ever by a country mile, let's face it he only got the job through being so pally with Walter and he's only kept the job because he's helped the spivs sell season tickets and did everything Charles Green told him to do to help promote the IPO.

Lucky to get a draw at home with Albion Rovers, whose manager I hear receives only £90 a week for taking charge of his part time team - and with a refereeing decision that if it had been the other way round would have had the conspiracy theorists on here having a field day.

Please walk Ally as you must know by now that you aren't remotely the man for the job. If you really love the club you would be penning your resignation latter tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Then the defender scores, shocking!

Don't you know big billy played up front on several occasions with his last club?

I would ask though,

Don't our midfield get embarrassed when he is running past them standing static on halfway line, trying to get something going in attack?

JG

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

JG, you telling me that was ally's managerial master stroke? Pure luck. So he played up front a few times before, where's he been playing all season? Centre half. I sat there stunned when faure came on

Agree0 Disagree0

Inverbear worst manager, did the defender not score? although it should not have stood, foul on the keeper
Tam

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I don't think it was a foul)

@4 Take the blue specs off ED if it had happened at the other end, you would be screaming blue murder, even big Gough thought it was a foul
Tam

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - If you read enough of my posts over all of the sites Tam you would see that I have often and for a long time critisised refs for giving goalkeepers too much protection, so you can give it a rest with the blue tinted specs thing ....... tell me, would you say it was a foul if it was a challenge on the centre back?)

@5 Yes I would ED a foul is a foul, no matter who it's on
Tam

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Your right, putting your arms around a players neck and dragging them to the ground is a foul)

@6 So me Wee Neil and Big Goughie got it wrong along with a couple of thousand other's.
Tam

Agree0 Disagree0

Tam - you should watch it again, big billy jumped and won the ball fairly, in fact if he hadn't scored it would have been a penalty as the keeper had his arms around him and dragged him down

I am dead against witholding season book money but if a condition of was ally to go iwould think again we get on players backs but leadership must come fae coach we have played almost 2 seasons now we teams setting out to defend and still we can't see how to beat it r gough the tactic all season high ball for j daly even pundits say same every week there is no width or players should run at defences making openings by drawing players out of position we could bareky get the draw against a team that for the last while could haedly walk he really must go

Ally should be sacked for that 1st 45 mins, he can't even get his players up for a quarter final.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - he is a disgrace and his players were so poor today, the tactics in second 45 were awful!! He must go and go now)

Players were s****, everyone aird? Templeton? The lot, got the draw very lucky

Agree0 Disagree0

I am old school ie support the team through hick and thin, criticize in pvt not public, but enough is enough. Every game this year we have gradually got worse. The manager can't seem to reverse this trend. Sometimes the only way is to change the management team and we have reached that point. Give ally this week to win the league and bow out on a high, then end this farce of football we are watching.

Agree0 Disagree0

My mate who doesn't even follow football was in the fox and hounds houston having a quick pint last week and ally mc coist was in there in the company of 4 other guys, his idea of banter was that 20 % of rangers supporters couldn't read or write and he says he didn't read his contract doug t. s. o

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1 Call yourself a Real Rangers Fan?. Alastair Teflon Don McCoist- he has assembled the players, he trains them, he picks the team, he doesn't motivate them to beat a team in the lower reaches of Division 3 who last beat Rangers 91 years ago and yet it is totally the players fault- EH!. I wonder how many Selik fans are actually voting in the poll for our manager? And boy were we lucky the Moshni equalizer stood. I have seen some poor Ranger's performances over the years but that is right up there with the worst of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 why would I not be a real rangers fan? Explain please?

Ed, is it true that there is a petition to have the semi finals moved from ibrox should we qualify today? I would of thought all o Glasgow would of been behind us as the only Glasgow base team remaining.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Apparantly there have been calls to move the semi finals to a "neutral" venue, its not going to get anywhere though)

Nobody from the green side complained when parkhead was announced as the venue for the final 5 months before the actually game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this actually true?, the semi will be ati ibrox :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Both semi finals will be played at Ibrox, the final parkhead)

It was ridiculous that the sfa announced the venues for the semis and the final before it was known who would be playing in them

However The decision was made so it should now stand, I doubt there would have been the same desire to move the final if it looked like the tournament favourites had been heading there

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - The reason the announcements were made when they were was that the bookings for the stadia would have to have been confirmed, financial arrangements made and contracts exchanged. I dont see what the problem is, Ibrox and Parkhead have been used for semis and finals before without there being an issue)

Of course the venues should be named, why the secrecy jg? Anyway the gers today :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was a joke when I heard it. I bet it would of got a fair few signatures too. EMBARRASSING.

Agree0 Disagree0

John - secrecy?

I'm talking about fairness to the non Glasgow teams, remember the old sporting integrity thing, semis and finals should be played at neutral grounds if possible

In fairness to dundee utd, we should play our semi at the big breeze block, (if we get through)

like wise if Celtic had reached the final against Aberdeen for example, then it should be played at ibrox,

It's fairness not secrecy!,! My goodness!

Or is it another conspiracy?

Ed, both grounds could have been provisionally booked for the semis, t's no rocket science! Plus the cup final is the last game both stadiums will be free anyway, there was no reason to announce where the final was going to be 6 months before the game!

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree JG, in future years I expect the semi final and final to be moved at short notice should Queens Park each the later rounds. Totally unfair to the rest.
