Good to see Green committed to Rangers if SFA suspend club for a year. He mentions growing potatoes or keeping sheep on the park but will remain never the less.

Is that another lie?

I honestly think we are clutching at straws. My Glasgow Rangers always done their talking on the park. Yes, many a time we were not good enough but we done what we could under our own steam. Then along came murray and lived a life outwith his means and took us for a ride. Yes, we loved it at the time but we trusted that he had the cash and accepted him on face value. He may have shafted us but he took the bank for bigger ride and will pay the cost of that when his 'empire' goes down the tube. He does not care about Glasgow Rangers or he would not have sold us for a pound to whyte, unless he thought his problems would go away. Regarding the dialogue with green, who would put up anything for an unknown commodity and that is what we are. What businessman could put forward a bid for us in our present state unless our worst case scenario is his best option. Think about this before making comment as I have supported our team longer than most and am sick of what our standing is in world football. As the words of Woodburn's lament state '' I was proud to play for Rangers and to wear the colour blue.''

Great post from the heart, and exactly how i feel. I posted earlier about not caring what anyone else thinks about our club, because i know what principles the club was founded on,and what it meant to me as a supporter. I hope that all true football fans know what this means.
I supported my club through thick and thin, through the rebuilding of the stadium, completely unaware of what was going on in the boardroom of MIH.
Like Bill Struth and Willie Waddell,i will always be proud to be,or have been a Ranger, for i had no part in,or had any knowledge of,the shenanigans that have brought us to our knees.
My club,a football club, which i have supported for 38 years, could soon be nothing more than a memory.I feel nothing but bitterness towards the so called custodians and a deep sadness that RFC as we know it,may soon be no more.
The club has been raped, thrown over a fence, and left for dead. The perpetrators have sadly claimed more victims before being caught, let's hope they get their come uppance eventually.
I could not "find" another team to support with the same passion. Obviously this is a far worse scenario, but the best way i can explain my feelings is to liken it to watching Euro2012, or the world cup, when Scotland hasn't qualified, you may pick a team to follow, but it just isn't the same.

What is dave king all about? Why would you want a guy who is being chase for over £200 million in charge of rangers and is deliberately trying to block a cva that would save us from liquidation. I admit I know nothing of what green is upto but I am willing to give the guy a chance but I would obviously protest against green if I found out he was upto something but as it stands I would protest against king being in charge as that is a man desperate for money!

Believable6 Unbelievable9

King is jealous that green has turned up and taking the club for £8.5m of debt. I cannot believe green's statement today yhat his investors don't know what they are buying into!!!! Worrying.
King put in £20m and has nothing and green is picking up the club. King is a bitter man. I think the dxchange rate shows SA government are chasing £242m.
We know king is a liar, Whyte is a liar and SDM is a liar ( SDM said he was duped by Whyte then johnston said they gave Murray a private detectives report on Whyte. So SDM was fully aware of Whyte.
Green has been caught out a few times also. So he fits the bill for Ibrox.

Agree6 Disagree3

Think you're being a bit hard on DK.
This guy was duped by Murray.
He has actually put £20million of his money into Rangers, that's more than Murray,Whyte and Green put together. I'm not interested in what he may or may not have done in South Africa, doesn't affect anyone here, and has nothing to do with RFC. The guy is a supporter and put his money where his mouth is,who else has done that for Rangers since Lawrence Marlbrough? Murray bought the club with a bank loan,Whyte got us for nothing, well okay a pound, and up to now,it looks like Green is trying another Ticketus scenario,by wanting the season ticket money to fund his takeover,if he hangs around long enough.

Read Steven Thompsons article in the DR. Unsurprisingly he was ambivalent regarding us, however I did notice plenty of Celtic fans talking him up on the comments page. What they missed in their haste to hate us was his last comment. The Spl could survive without us but needed a new working model. This would be the voting structure change and the proposed share of home gate. He is in fact correct, the loss of revenue from our contributions will be made up by the Celtic home support. It actually will level the playing field by weakening Celtic so enjoy your future bhoys, or keep us in the SPL as your voting partner. Priceless.

Believable6 Unbelievable13

When the 'gang of ten' announced they wanted changes to the voting structure it was mainly to distribute tv revenue more equally and take the power from the old firm which is probably fair enough, it was also said that they weren't looking for a share of the home gate, the bulk of fans buy season tickets so that would be a nightmare to work out anyway, the ticket sales at celtic park and ibrox minus season tickets would probably be less than 8000 and take away expenses for stewarding policing from that wouldn't amount to much anyway

Agree4 Disagree0

In your haste to hate Celtic you miss the fact that they have already ruled out the gate share nonsense.Honestly,no wonder you are in such a mess with so many uninformed fans

Agree6 Disagree5

The point i see in your post is that you used it to spit out hatred towards the 'Bhoys ? Doubt if we will ever get away from the hate and bigotry on these boards. no need for it.

Agree4 Disagree4

Steven thomson has no money & dundee utd are skint ! he even said when goodwullie was sold he gave the money straight to the bank !

if a new co is started then i think the only way they will get back into the spl is if they give up(to) 75% of the tv money on offer.if a newco was the only route then sky would still have 'an old firm' so they will still get 4 games a year on sky which lets be honest is the only reason sky want us.

to OP.
this is rangers & (fans) problem here. you almost think its black mail to a lesser degree. keep us in or its down the tubs.certainly not for celtic at least.we do have a big wage bill which is been cut since we have let a set amount of players going this month.we have a youth team who have won the under 19s league 3 times in a row plus a few cups on their travels(also the nextgen comps too).celtic have a few in the 1st team just now from the under 19s so if rangers do go down & money is tight we could sell izzy/ki/kayal & very easily make close to 10m. can rangers sell 3 players & make close to that ? NO THEY CANT ! naismith/laugh at me/mc shagger all having a lease clause due to wage cuts.

hopefully green plays the spl need us card cause then UFEA will do the damage that no one else wants to.

Rangers: Dave King will move to block shares transfer
09 June 12

Dave King will mount a legal challenge to block any attempted transfer of Craig Whyte's 85% shareholding in Rangers to Charles Green.
The club director has been a vocal critic in recent days of what he believes to be the lack of transparency surrounding Green's bid for the club.
King has previously stated that Whyte had verbally agreed to give him first refusal on his shares.
He has since told Rangers' administrators that he can prove this.
"You have been aware for some time that I have the first right of refusal on Craig Whyte's shares and that I will legally contest any transfer to Mr Green, if such a transfer is attempted," King has told the club's administrators Duff & Phelps.
"[Fellow director] Mr [Andrew] Ellis has confirmed to me by email that Mr Whyte advised him, during negotiations with Mr Ellis, of his agreement with me. The agreement is therefore not contentious and I have no doubt will be upheld before a Scottish Court."
Green, who is leading a consortium in place to buy Rangers, has been frustrated by King's criticism and told BBC Scotland: "We are buying this club on Thursday whether Mr King likes it or not."
Duff & Phelps informed King on Friday that his directorship of the club was being terminated.
"There are regulatory requirements laid down by the Scottish Football Association which require confirmations to be given by the club in respect of all directors of the Company," said Duff & Phelps in an email seen by BBC Scotland.
"As the company is currently in administration, it is not possible for such confirmations to be given to the SFA.
"This is not a reflection on any individual's status merely a reality of the company's position. Accordingly, where such confirmations cannot be given by a club it is pertinent to remove directors of the company.
"Given the above-noted expected change in the board of directors of the company, the removal of the present directors has now been effected at this time."
But King responded: "Does this power extend to a director who has an agreement, such as myself, that I am entitled to a board position as long as I remain a shareholder?
"Craig Whyte and Gary Withey previously tried to remove me and were ultimately thwarted by that legal undertaking given at the time, and as a condition of, my initial investment."
In May, Whyte told BBC Scotland that King's claim to have first option on his shares was "categorically untrue".
Amid King's criticism of Green, he also backed the Blue Knights consortium, who lost out in the bidding process.
The leader of the Blue Knights, Paul Murray, told BBC Scotland: "Why are we Rangers supporters allowing a guy with no Rangers affinity and who will not disclose any proper details of his bid to buy the club?
"The fact that he has been brought to the table by Duff & Phelps, who have a lot to answer for and have chosen not to so far, should make every Rangers fan very concerned.
"The whole process needs a full investigation. It stinks and everyone knows it."

Believable9 Unbelievable0

If Paul Murray could not better Green's dreadful deal he should butt out.

When considering the merits of a CVA one of HMRC'S main conserns is whether the business has sufficient capital going forward. Green who is doubtless aware of this is providing no fresh capital but an interest bearing loan. If the loan was recalled then the club would most likely be back in administration.
Green will also have to demonstrate to to HMRC that he is entirely independent of the previous regime's, both White and Murray.
Turning to the issue of employment the maximum ratio is around £10,000 loss of tax for each job in danger. Excluding playing and coaching staff ,who should find alternative employment the full time equivelent is about say 100 with the tax loss being up to £90,000,000 or £900,000 per job.
For the exchequer to write off £90m they would hope to save 10,000 jobs directly and many more indirectly.
Compared to the size of the business this is one of the worst cases HMRC has dealt with in years.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

This is the biggest illegal tax fraud in Scottish history. The meltdown of Murray group after the BTC will be the largest Scottish corporate failure.

In his second spell i dont even think he played a game without needing an injection beforehand......that sums up the guys commitment to us. even now he is a huge player for blackpool n recently won the league cup with birmingham......the guys a class act n id have him in my team before gattuso, davis ect, ect anyday.

It would appear that HMRC have put a safety net in place if CVA route hits the buffers.
Sounds to me that they don't have much faith in Mr Greene's plan.
Interesting then that D&P went with it in the first place.
This seems like Whyte and Ticketus scenario all over again. Have D&P seen Greene's proof of funds? Dave King reckons Greene hasn't got the money
and needs season ticket money to fund his takeover. D&P been silent on this, why haven't they issued a statement denying King's accusations of lack of funds? You'd think it would be in D&P's interest to quash this retoric as it's not good PR.
Even more relevant now that HMRC are hovering. The more you try to understand what's going on,the more murky and confusing it becomes.
Is it a series of inadvertant and incompetent mistakes,or a well thought out strategy of deceit and fraud?
Either way,it's not looking good for our beloved club.
P.O.B.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

It looks like liquidation is,and has always been, the objective. The CVA offer is an insult, and a smokescreen,if it was accepted Green would find a way to weasel out of his commitment as he has not got the funding required.Thats probably why he wants to accept the original transfer embargo,he has conditions of take over and thats his way out.

Portpin proposes offering creditors £500,000 in cash as an up front payment. In addition, Portpin will settle in full the club’s debts to charities, small local businesses owed less than £2,500 and part-time club employees who are owed wages prior to the administration and who worked for the club during administration. A further £500,000 will be offered to creditors if Portsmouth returns to the Premier League within five years.

So how come Portsmouth can come up with a CVA that priorities the small creditors and helps recover some credibility to the club name whist we just seem to be intent in shafting everyone and carrying on as though it never happened. Everyone is saying that RFC history will never die, but there is some history that D&P should be trying to put right on behalf of the fans and our proud history.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Because we've been shafted by Murray, Whyte, Duff & Phelps with Green waiting in the wings.

Not one of them really gave a feck about the club, only their image (SDM) and their pockets.

They've shafted Rangers good and proper and will send the club into oblivion.

If Green can't see a penny for himself he'll be away - ask the Sheffield guys.

Agree5 Disagree1

Rangers' potential new owner Charles Green admits he plans to spend less than a year at the Ibrox club.

Green is heading a consortium in place to buy the financially-stricken outfit and will find out whether his offer to creditors is sufficient on Thursday.

Rangers director Dave King has accused Green of lacking the funding to take the club forward beyond then and predicted he would not last a season in charge.

Quick exit

Green denied the first accusation but admits he sees turning round Rangers as a relatively short-term task.

The former Sheffield United chief executive told the Daily Record: "Dave King said he didn't think I'd still be here in a year's time and do you know what? He's right.

"It isn't my intention to be here longer than that.

"If nothing much is added to what I can see on the table at the moment I believe I can get over all the hurdles in a year.

"I'd be very disappointed if I am not out of the club quickly."

Green revealed the personal benefits he anticipates from turning around the club.

"I'll be getting £2million in shares, not cash," he said.

Green's group have pledged £8.5million for creditors, the vast majority of which is due to be repaid with interest from the club by 2020.

Rangers currently owe Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs more than £21million and that figure could more than quadruple depending on the outcome of a tax tribunal.

Green has urged fans to exert political pressure to ensure the tax authority accepts the reduced payments on offer.

"Fans should be urging their politicians to apply some pressure so that the CVA is accepted," he said.

Funding

Green also insisted the funding from his investors, only two of whom have been named, was in place and he would not be able to use season-ticket money to fund his deal.

"The first-phase funding, £10million, is all there," he said.

"Yes, I will raise £20million more and I say that well aware of just how difficult it is to raise money these days."

as far as punishments go, we've paid the points reduction for administration already. for the further SFA punishment why not just strip any cups / titles that were won with dodgy contracts & also ban us from the scottish cup for a season or 2 even 3 & lets get on with things as normal.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

You being serious ? you got points took off you because of your owner, the sfa just played back the book. if ANY team goes into admin then they get -10 points?.a ban from the scottish cup wouldnt be 'harsh enough' in my eyes or ufea.UFEA hold the cards & are waiting a proper punishment againest rangers because rangers went to court & challenged the sfa rule over a transfer ban.... yer man jardine was at the front of the Que wanting this dropped now you want to accept the transfer ban ?

the club is getting dragged through the dirt over & over again but right now its not about the EBT so they cant strip you of anything yet....the punishment just now is for taking the sfa too court.

Agree3 Disagree2

Because its not enough. you got points deduction for going into admin thats done n dusted, you should be stripped of titles for using ineligible players (when its proved, not if when) but you have used funds this year to keep the club afloat by withholding tax vat and ni thats brought the game into disrepute. a fine penalty is no good as you simply dont pay them, and a scottish cup ban is not fair on other teams who have been banned for simple clerical errors. so logic dictates that the only punishment that is available ( after the person administartaors went to court (against SFA, EUFA and FIFA law) is suspension or expulsion. For the sake of the fans and the future of scotish football you wont be expelled so the only other option is a 12 months suspension and then after you are liquidated reapply to the SFL to join in third division. maybe just maybe after that and if your club ever appologises for its misdemeanors you will be accepted back. but lets be honest here rangers dont do appologies do they? just out of curiosity....
do the rangers fans think its a good idea that green is jetting in gattusos agent for talks? when creditors sit down to discuss cva and 4p in the £, will they then think that gattuso is gonna be gettin roughly £20,000 weekly and turn down the offer as it looks like green is rubbing their noses in it all over the press?
i for one wouldnt accept the cva, and not because i support celtic, its mainly because green is spouting his mouth how there is millions waiting to be spent on the team.
frankiebhoy

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Okay frankiebhoy i'll indulge, and try to satisfy your curiosity.
Others may decide to comment, but for me personally i don't really care what other people think at present.
My main concern is whether my club has a future at all. You are saying that you are curious, although i detect a sarcastic undertone in your post. For the record, this has been a totally unmitigated disaster for RFC,and in particular it's fans. Do you believe for one moment that Rangers fans are sitting back enjoying any of this debacle?
Put yourself in our shoes(The fans) how would you feel if this was your club?
To even ask the question you posed, shows a complete lack of understanding, and in my opinion respect for the ordinary guy on the street.
I do not trust Charles Greene in any form whatsoever as far as having the club's best interests at heart, but you know what he's all we've got,and if that means Rangers survive, then like i said i don't really care at present. Although i do understand why some people would prefer us not to survive.

Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson: We'll go bust like Gerald Ratner if we ignore fans on Rangers newco.

STEPHEN Thompson fears Scottish football could do a Gerald Ratner and chase away supporters by ignoring their opposition to a newco Rangers.
Twenty years ago the backside infamously fell out of Ratner's cut-price jewellery business when he foolishly admitted items on sale were 'crap'.
Customers abandoned him overnight and the doors closed.
Dundee United chairman Thompson last night warned the game in Scotland could be similarly doomed if it treats fans with contempt.
Rangers' creditors meet next Friday and if they reject Charles Green's CVA proposal, the Ibrox outfit is likely to reform as a newco, seeking to stay in the SPL.
Emotions have been running high among fans of other clubs since Rangers went to the Court of Session to have a 12-month transfer ban overturned.
And if they are allowed to stay in the top flight as a newco, Thompson fears widespread fury.

Lord Carloway will suspend us for a year anyway do SPL chairmen don't need to worry about being conflicted this summer. Maybe next summer though when we get out license back.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

It's a crime and punishment situation. Nothing more. The fact SPL chairmen depend on rangers for their wages conflicts the situation. This is why people with a conflict of interest should not govern anything in life.

09 Jun 2012 09:38:03
Correct me if I'm wrong but if HMRC do not accept the CVA then they don't get a penny, so surely it is in there best interest to accept CVA, something is better than nothing.Gus {Ed001's Note - they get the money from the sale of assets, which isn't as much as the assets are listed for, but is probably going to be more than the offer Green is talking about.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

This is a myth.Liquidators assess the break up value of EVERY asset rangers fc possess. This will include all fixtures and fittings in offices and restaurants, players(after football debt is repaid from the proceeds of a players sale) and murray park and the albion. But by far the worst would be ibrox itself.Rather than sell it as a standing sports arena(remember the asbestos problem?) they would work to a break up figure. At auction, everything inside ibrox would be sold.Trophies, turf, seats and catering equipment, the lot. Then the break up would start, every brick, metal and tile(lots of marble and oak inside ibrox)would be sold.Even the facade, which is listed, might go depending on the wording on the listing documents.

Agree6 Disagree3

When hmrc dont accept cva they will appoint BDO who will sell your assets to the highest bidder that means players, ground, car park, training facilites, right down to the last coat peg. its worth much more than 8.5 millioin. once thats done the creditors get paid. why oh why would they accpet a CVA.

Agree7 Disagree3

Correct Ed, there's more money from a public sale than a CVA..... Lots more. But not Rangers' book value of the assets. Even selling the players brings in more, never mind Murray park, Ibrox, the car park and the bits n pieces are valued at £4m!

Agree5 Disagree2

If club liquidated players contracts are ripped up and players walk for free.

There seems to be alot of bad information going around about the newco route.

If there is a newco there are a few ways that the history can be kept. The way Fiorentina did this was to set up a newco while the old company agreed a cva then bought the oldco back, this took nearly two years and the newco started in division C2 with new strips badges(fiorentina's badge now the most expensive in history, it was sold to the newco at auction for 2 million). During the two years the oldco were in admin the newco had no history. The other way is the way leeds did it and rangers are trying to do it, set up a new company(meaning new registration no's at company house), but by the old one as it stands and agree a CVA before progressing, in football this is not considered to be a newco due to the fact there is no break in history.

I am well aware that Italian and even english laws are different but the principals of a newco remain the same.

Also newco is no longer relevant as green will not be allowed to go the newco route 5.5million, HMRC liquidators are being put in place to ensure the assets are sold at a competitive rate.

As a neutral I find this fixation with keeping a history achieved primarily by cheating quite amazing. I would want to forget it and hope that the rest of the world would do the same.

Mr green admitted newco equals no history... Watch his interview yesterday.... His words not mines.

If rangers are liquidated thats it.History, trophies the lot are gone. That company will have been closed down leaving newco as just that: a new company! Green admitted it.The biggest hurdle would be where to play,as ibrox would be sold to the highest bidder(blue knights?)

Rangers are an incorporated football club. Failure of the corporation I'd failure of the club. A new company means the club has ended and is being started again. Transfer of assets is not transfer of the football club and it's history. This is impossible and ridiculous.

Dave King urges Rangers fans to reject Charles Green's proposals for a CVA.

That will be the guy a judge in South Africa described as a "shameless liar"

In a devastating judgment, the court said King "has no respect for the truth and does not hesitate to lie ... if he thinks it will be to his advantage.
"He is a mendacious witness whose evidence should not be accepted on any issue unless it is supported by objective evidence.
"In our assessment he is a glib and shameless liar."

King says he has informed Duff & Phelps that he is claiming from the club £20m in damages.

He declared recently he was gonna sue David Murray for £20m for deliberate non-disclosure of the state of the club, but if he had done due diligence before he invested he would have known the situation.

So now he is claiming £20million from the club(not DM-wonder what changed? speculation is most welcome!) but states if that claim is successful, he will reinvest the money in the club!

In that case he will take £20million out of the club & put it straight back in-a pointless activity in my opinion!

Could it be that Green sees a place where gullible ,blinkered people have gone for a "find the lady" snake eye salesman ,not once but twice in the last few years and he sees a rich seam of opportunity. As my father would say "I bet you a pound to an Irish penny he is not going to lose anything in this" or "Do it for anyone but himself? He wouldn'y give you a thick penny for a thin one."
