Was reading on a rangers page that we are looking at bringing in Kevin MacDonald from Fulham, think this could be a really decent signing. What does everyone else think?

10 Jan 2018 13:35:11
We are linked with him seemingly every window. Can't see him leaving Fulham until at least end of season depending on their final league position.

10 Jan 2018 14:07:17
Ger88

He seems to have become the new Tonel of the transfer windows for us

09 Jan 2018 20:07:00
Here are my thoughts on recent events.

First Jamie Murphy- the way I look at it is that we have a great player now and pay in the summer. If we pay £2m and then get the sams for Pena as agreed we break even. In my eyes Murphy is better and a blue nose.

I am delighted we have KT and GV on the coaching staff. We also have PL and a host of other ex players. This is similar to Ajax and they can explain how to play for our great club.

Jimmy Nichol is a great appointment. Loads if experience and gas a win a trophy against them when not expected.

If the transfer ended now we are stronger. If gods is like John we are on a winner.

I know everyone won't agreee but discuss.

09 Jan 2018 20:17:14
Agree entirely. Can't believe the reaction to the Murphy transfer. We get the benefit of his skills in the meantime, then pay for him when we have the readys like any sustainable business would. Well chuffed with the appointments of Jimmy Nic and now Kevin Thomson. I feel the board/ Mark Allen deserve some credit for this, given the abuse they take for their mistakes.

09 Jan 2018 20:33:19
Regarding Mark Allen - yes nemane was an error but John was his signing and that has been great. So 50/ 50 in my eyes.

The scouting department has been implemented. We need to give at least three windows to see if successful. The way Murty has talked we are identifying players like Southampton and for me that is a positive. Murphy is a great signing.

I would like a centre forward (for me Cummings would be ideal) . If we sell then replace. I think we are stronger going into the second half of the season. I think that Halliday is not the best but I would have had him in at parkhead over Niko. He brings energy, and passion (yes gives the ball away too much) but controlled can be an asset, look at the semi under warburton.

As before, disagree but discuss.

09 Jan 2018 21:09:21
Pretty sure Mark Allen was involved in the Murphy signing and KT and JN appointments, so not sure where you get 50/ 50 from. I think the signing of Goss suggests Halliday will be used where he played his entire career prior to Rangers as competition on the left. Hopefully we can come to an agreement with Niko to rip up his contract early. I'd prefer McBurnie to Cummings since both would be loans but McBurnie is more of a target man and would walk here from Wales to play for us.

09 Jan 2018 23:15:18
When I say 50/ 50 i mean nemane and John. The reason I say that is that everyone on here judges mark allen on Neman and not John. He is involved in Murphy and Goss so let's see.

I also credit mark Allen with KT and all the new coaching staff. I think they are a great appointments.

There seems to be mixed opinions on Big Bruno. We exited Europe before he'd kicked a ball in anger and from that point the rags had decided he didn't want to be here and didn't like the style/ standard of football, the climate, the cuisine, or the vino. Some or all of that could be true but at this point it's just speculation. What we do know is that he is the highest earner, he's been in and out of the side due to injuries and performances have not been up to scratch. We also know he's determined to make the World Cup, and Wilson, McCrorie, and Bates have all improved since his arrival. IMO if he is indeed committed and can get himself fit I would make him captain and build the team around him. If he does leave then Martin on loan would do for me.

Keep Believing.

09 Jan 2018 19:11:57
Just to be clear I wouldn't make Martin captain or build the team around him!

09 Jan 2018 19:46:02
I agree I would make him captain although would get Martin on loan still to partner him bates and Wilson as back up mcorie midfield.

10 Jan 2018 13:30:36
i would let alves go all day long he doesn't want to be here and is our highest earner by far yes he has brought on and educated our 3 young centre backs but has been paid handsomly for doing so his wages could be used on 2 or 3 decent new players

10 Jan 2018 14:09:23
Who is going to sign him if he is currently injured? He has been injured at least 3 times since we got him and that’s in 6 months. I doubt very much he will be going anywhere this season

09 Jan 2018 16:26:52
Fleetwood manager rosler says Cole to leave. several championship clubs interested bur can't help but think that just to drive up interest. definitely think the boys worth a chance

09 Jan 2018 16:45:48
100% worth the risk. Young player with potential at a very low development fee

09 Jan 2018 17:42:17
Is this a joke? Who's Cole and who's Fleetwood?

09 Jan 2018 18:00:59
Could be wrong kfraser but a think it might be devante cole as in ex Man Utd player Andy coles son and fleetwood town as in fleetwood town where Leicester signed Jamie vardy from - not 100% though 🙄😆😆!

We’ve had duds like Pena, Herrera, dalcio and you think we’re too good too sign someone from fleetwood? You think this is the 90s we will just go stick a bid in for some world class players shall we?

Not saying because he’s andy coles son he will be decent but it is biological kfraser just like your biological tackles you speak of?

09 Jan 2018 18:28:58
A32 yes I expect better from Rangers than to sign a player no one has heard of from a team no one has heard off and who's free to leave. You're free to drop to the lowest of expectations of Rangers but not me.

09 Jan 2018 19:09:41
Aye ok kfraser you live in a fantasy land bud 👍👍don’t complain when someone calls you deluded!

Clubs change, players and managers change, transfer policies change - don’t worry bout me bud I expect the best for rangers used to what I grew up with seeing - Davie Robertson’s, laudrups, gazzas etc but c'mon open your eyes we’re trying to build steady platforms to challenge in the near future and your expecting superstars from the top leagues you are deluded then mate - our immediate future will be built on loans and upcoming players/ youth till we can steady the ship but hey ho let’s just take your approach and sign Mexican internationals and Portuguese internationals and see how far that gets us 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏

09 Jan 2018 19:15:17
Would much rather have Cummings from forrest, already proven up in Scotland and At just 22 can only get even better imo.

09 Jan 2018 20:06:23
The difference there though alex1972 is that devante cole is available on a bosman

09 Jan 2018 22:33:24
Alex32 your replies are ridiculous. You do realise Rangers have handled what relatively little transfer funds we've had, extremely poorly in the last few seasons.

How about not insulting everyone who has a different opinion to you, and learn how to articulate better. We're all tired of reading your essays with absolutely zero substance.

10 Jan 2018 09:27:07
Noted big man 👍

Although you do realise that I know this hence the reason why I replied to kfraser when he suggested rangers are too for a fleetwood player which is absolutely ridiculous!

Learn to articulate better? Sorry thought this was a rangers banter site not higher English!

10 Jan 2018 09:33:51
And rev kev I believe reading them posts it was Fraser that done the insulting by saying my expectations are too low and rangers are too good for a fleetwood town player!

I just stated as you’ve also said😆😆😆😆our recent transfer history hasn’t been great but ok 😂😂

10 Jan 2018 13:24:50
Kfraser you haven’t heard of him so he must be not good enough? Love how fans think we have loads of money and can buy anyone.
He is well worth a chance good young boy

10 Jan 2018 13:29:08
Devante Cole was onot the books at man City prior to Fleetwood, he's done pretty well since signing there but do I want him! . nah naisy or Cummings for me

09 Jan 2018 13:04:20
would rather we got barrie mackay back then gambling on murphy
wee guy shouldn't have been allowed to leave in the first place and he not getting a game at forest

your thoughts?

09 Jan 2018 13:42:11
Murphy done well in the championship has barrie, loads of respect down south for murphy as well and i think a great buy, barrie yeah 500k was pennies but murphy is by far the most proven player

09 Jan 2018 14:07:15
Spot on Stmonkey, plus McKay didn't sign a new deal, he knew the bread man was planning on taking him to Forest, we need to get over McKay, he's gone and doesn't want to be here. I will agree that selling him for 500k was a huge mistake - the chairman also agrees with that and has said that won't be happening again with our other young players.

09 Jan 2018 14:19:17
I don't see how Murphy us a gamble? Playing McKay was a gamble. You never knew what mood he was in and if he could be bothered playing. We should have got more money for him but we were right to sell him.

09 Jan 2018 14:30:13
100% agree, Barrie McKay had 1 year left and had at best 2 good games in 5. We got £500k but potentially could have got what? £2M? No chance, we were also trying to fund a massive overhaul of players all in good faith and the £500k contributed to that, unsuccessful as it was!

Personally I never liked a right footer on the left and think we will be far better served by Murphy who is just getting into his prime years as a footballer!

09 Jan 2018 14:44:29
Wee bear murphys right footed

09 Jan 2018 14:57:53
Some of McKay’s performances were awful and he didn’t seem to try. He wanted to go and I don’t recall too many fans being too unhappy about him going but more about the small fee

10 Jan 2018 00:59:41
Murphy is right footed too 🙈😂

10 Jan 2018 12:37:07
He’s not getting a game for a reason - too inconsistent.

10 Jan 2018 12:40:57
Barrie McKay would not come back everybody seems to forget that he wouldn't sign new deal before being sold so clearly did not want to stay anyway

09 Jan 2018 13:02:18
NAISMITH - free
CUMMINGS - on loan
JONES - 1 million + exchange with Hodson
RUSSEL MARTIN - free
JACK HENDRY
GREG DOHERTY
DEVANTE COLE - free

09 Jan 2018 15:48:10
Naismith - maybe could happen as no outlay till end of season
Cummings - can’t see it tbh
Jones - can’t see it as requires a fee and we have Murphy for left side
Martin - if Alves goes
Hendry - have cover for that position
Doherty - would be a great addition but do we have funds?
Cole - another gamble like Dodoo.
I don’t we will spend any cash this window

09 Jan 2018 15:50:20
Don't necessarily have a problem with any of those players but we won't sign 7 players this January. Is Naismith out of contract in the summer?

09 Jan 2018 16:39:33
We will be doing no more business this window

09 Jan 2018 19:22:51
No Naismith still has 18 months left on his contract, Blueberry.

09 Jan 2018 21:10:55
Norwich are going to rip up his contract. He’s stated he will play for free till end of season to prove fitness. No fee and wages aren’t his motivator. Get him in 👍🏼

10 Jan 2018 12:42:35
You forgot Weiss

09 Jan 2018 10:28:02
Keeping in positive mode, I think Murty is bringing more out of certain players. With Murphy and Goss signed and Pena gone, and O'Halloran and maybe Halliday returning, this could be a decent spell for us. Jack will be back and hopefully Dorrans not too far behind. Even if no other signings are made this month, I think the performance at the piggery showed there really isn't that much in it. How about:
Foderingham; Tavernier, Alves, Wilson, John; McCrorie; Dorrans, Jack, Murphy; O'Halloran, Morelos.

09 Jan 2018 10:31:21
Candeias?

09 Jan 2018 10:39:48
No Candeias or Windass?

09 Jan 2018 10:51:55
I was thinking about that line up too but have doubts over MOH and Candeias has done well for us in MOST games.

09 Jan 2018 10:52:09
Windass blows hot and cold, far too inconsistent. Candeias is good OK, but I was just trying to see what the line-up might look like with Dorrans, Jack and Murphy all available plus O'Halloran back. Don't know where Goss would fit in?

09 Jan 2018 11:26:57
I would get rid of alves he isn’t interested in playing for the gers send in back home

09 Jan 2018 12:01:00
Doiger I think Goss will be the backup man for both DM roles in the 4-2-3-1 formation. He may do well and become a first choice in those roles. If these rumours on here about McCrories ankle are true then we will need Goss to perform big time. I like your team but I’d also have Candeias ahead of O’Halleron!

I also wouldn’t give up on the diamond formation as that has suited us of late, O’Halleron through the middle with Morelos in this formation could cause teams problems if they come at us!

09 Jan 2018 12:30:00
I don't get the excitement behind MoH. The guy is rubbish and never in a million years a rangers player.

09 Jan 2018 12:42:09
MOH has the one thing in the modern game that scares defenders (particularly those as poor as Lustig etc) and that is pace. Warburton insisted in asking the team to play the ball to MOH's feet out wide with his back to goal - that's not his game. MOH needs to be running onto through balls, in that scenario he is uncatchable and has proved with St Johnstone he can finish. Give the guy a proper chance and let's see how he fares without having to play under Warburtons, slow pedantic build up

09 Jan 2018 13:24:49
How about bates instead of alves, can't hold bates back.

09 Jan 2018 16:10:53
4-4-1-1
Fod
Tav, Bates/ McCrorie, Wilson, John;
Candias, Dorrans, Jack, Murphy;
Windass
Morelos.
Can move to to a:
4-2-3-1
Fod
Tav Bates/ McCrorie Wilson John
Dorrans Jack
Candias Windass Murphy
Morelos

09 Jan 2018 08:04:31
I know alves is a high earner but I would rather him in the team than Russel Martin what's everyone else opinion on that.

09 Jan 2018 08:37:32
Alves is no good on the treatment table, which is where he has been spending a lot of time. I agree alves on his day over Martin but is he worth the high wages if there is a higher chance he won't pay due to injury? I don't think so but that is just my opinion.

09 Jan 2018 08:44:37
Would rather look elsewhere. martin isn't any good.

09 Jan 2018 09:21:56
Alves will have to have a solid second half of the year to make the World Cup. I’d keep him for the remainder of the season.

09 Jan 2018 10:57:35
Alva's not interested in us, I'd prefer Martin

09 Jan 2018 14:15:09
Alves wants out and isn’t wanting to risk an injury by playing in spl. He wants protected to ensure he plays in summer and I believe will go ASAP.

09 Jan 2018 20:59:44
go where, to get selected you have to play, if you play there is chance u get injured. or are u saying only tackles happen in scotland.

10 Jan 2018 00:37:12
Where did I say only tackles happen in scotland? lol get a grip. Trust me he doesn’t want to play in this league and Murty wants to free up his wages. I’ll be shocked if he’s still here at end of window.

09 Jan 2018 07:26:57
I have no information on our finance state - fact.
I have said about the next 2 to 3 weeks without any money won't help - fact
The JM deal highlighted our lack of spending money, to me (other will have a different take on it) it screamed a company in distress.
I think in our accounts we need to find £12.5m this summer for previous transfers (not 100% sure about that figure but we owe a lot) .
I am not saying we we go into administration but with the King takeover panel verdict and no money coming in, I can't rule it out.
UJ will be along soon to put my mind at rest

09 Jan 2018 09:33:40
Exactly Mull, you have no inforamtion. So why are you all over the finance pages claiming you know the in's and out's of the clubs financial state? You know hee haw.

09 Jan 2018 10:23:46
The only things I put in the financial pages are fact from accounts bear Mode you should try it mate
