Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

09 Feb 2017 22:29:18
I'd like to see MW give a few folk a chance against Morton this coming Sunday and although this is controversial I would like to see a few players dropped/ rested.

Dropped - Foderingham, Toral, Mckay.

Rested - Hill, Miller.

Would like to see Alnwick given his debut at Ibrox as I think Wes has become a bit complacent in his position and give the young lad Bates a go from the start and let us see what the boys made of. Mckays contribution this season so far is simply not good enough in my opinion (3 goals?! )

Alnwick
Hodson, Bates, Senderos, Wallace
Tavernier, Hyndman, Windass, Dodoo
Garner and Waghorn.

I'm sure most would agree that this 442 formation would actually allow for the players to play their preferred position rather than fitting square pegs in round holes with the exception of Tavernier, although I personally think he's much more effective going forward and a solid option of Hodson behind him.

Long post but interested to see others opinions here. And yes, I know changing things for a Scottish Cup is a big risk when its the only possible chance of silverware this year but let's face it if we are to win this cup drastic changes need to happen.

09 Feb 2017 23:44:23
Decent post GM90! I think you are correct . We need to drop players when they are not performing instead of sticking by the same dross week in week out .

10 Feb 2017 00:10:43
Good lie up but total needs games so ad play him

10 Feb 2017 04:08:04
Toral needs games and McKay can be a match winner. Maybe leave Waghorn on the bench, put Dodoo up front alongside Garner and put Toral back into the midfield.

Not sure that Fotheringham should be dropped, wouldn't help his confidence. Would like to see one or two youngsters on the bench but hope that neither Halliday or Kiernan are anywhere near the team.

10 Feb 2017 07:59:48
No Kenny Miller? Come on lads. I understand we need change but we also need 2nd or 3rd. By changing that many players at this stage of the season you can kiss that goodbye. Hearts are now breathing down our neck aswell remember.

10 Feb 2017 10:43:15
i agree with all the above posts and would like to see young Dodoo play alongside Toral and Hyndman as Toral is looking a bit sharper and needs regular game time, Dodoo is a cracking player and if he gets a run of games he will be a different player altogether

10 Feb 2017 13:30:03
I don't see it as dropping fod I see it as giving a back up a chance. Would like bates to get a chance

10 Feb 2017 13:57:13
Total needs games, my team for Sunday
Fod
Hodson. Hill. Senderos. Wallace
Hyndman
Waghorn McKay
Toral
Garner. Dodoo

4,4,2 With a diamond midfield, I think that this could suit the players we have available at the moment. but I don't think he will change it up, but that's what I would do but what do I know, lol

10 Feb 2017 16:00:38
Moult from Motherwell would do a job.

09 Feb 2017 20:45:41
Glad to see kranjar back training! Never thought he would be back before Rossiter.

09 Feb 2017 20:38:23
DK has his head buried in the south African Sand.
Part time chairman isn't hacking it.

We need a leader a true leader Rangers are rudderless i feel at the moment.
We need passion, a souness type figure head . someone to respect even a Souness repeat of sorts what he did in the 80.s
Would like to see him involved with the club again with his mate Kennedy.

10 Feb 2017 10:46:00
i wonder why we don't hear from Dave King or any of the other board members? it doesn't fill me with confidence not hearing from them, i think they should be more open with their fans like they said they would

09 Feb 2017 19:30:08
Warbs jets into London to seal transfer. wonder who it is?

10 Feb 2017 04:08:56
Jelavic. We can but hope!

09 Feb 2017 23:31:12
Ah probably another midfielder

10 Feb 2017 20:31:39
Heard the player is raul meireles

10 Feb 2017 11:38:53
If mc p goes, think it's the guy from Spurs might be wrong but it makes sense

10 Feb 2017 11:52:38
Where did u get this info from Caw? Is it a Pre-Contract? is the guy a free? What Club? thinkin its going to prob be Spurs or Arsenal but again how do u know this!

10 Feb 2017 12:22:49
Jelavic? Or is it only a London based player?

10 Feb 2017 12:24:12
TOMUSA, i heard it was meireles he was speaking 2,as he wants him for the DM position. We can only but wait and see mate!

09 Feb 2017 16:18:06
Warburton is Second favourite for the Nottingham Forest job. I know how the bookies work, but if there is interest from Nottingham Forest then that to me says a lot about our manager.

09 Feb 2017 14:47:54
A lot of reports suggesting Frank McParland to leave Rangers due to budget constraints. A real shame I think as given time I thing he could b outstanding. Thoughts bears?

09 Feb 2017 19:44:26
Going on this years signings am not sure as none of them have done anything great but time will tell

10 Feb 2017 04:09:50
I would suggest that this is the nice way of putting it and that he has been told he is being sacked!

10 Feb 2017 10:50:15
MW seems to be the one that was flying all around the place meeting up with players trying to talk them into joining Rangers, and it was him that used his contacts from his old clubs so i don't even know what McPartland's role in all those players were!

09 Feb 2017 22:35:06
Scouts survive on their reputations, their perceived successes and their networking. When I was active in football, at least 4 or 5 'scouts' claimed responsibility for 'discovering' Barry Ferguson when a blind man going past Fairhill Park in Hamilton in a taxi with blacked-out windows could have done that job. McParland's reputation has gone downhill and his successes are almost zero since he came to Ibrox. But I believe he's brought some decent players to us and they have not been properly utilised, so maybe that's the real source of his frustration.

09 Feb 2017 22:49:54
Yes its very disappointing news which i did hear myself a few hours ago. Where's dave king and his transparency he promised the supporters, when he swept to power around 2 years ago now? He needs to git his arse over hear, to tell our loyal supporters, where the hell is this club going, and what's going on! I agree. si., frank mcparland given budget and time would prove to be terrific for us!

09 Feb 2017 22:41:05
Glad to see the back of him if I'm honest! A dozen players were recruited in the summer and not one of them has had pass marks this season! I think it's a sign to come with warburton and David weir also following him out the door simple haven't been good enough the Rangers job is far too big for them!

09 Feb 2017 23:11:11
Only show Warburton and McParland can both leave fur Forest if they wish! The signing policy has been an absolute disgrace and not one player is worth a transfer fee? Shocking!

09 Feb 2017 23:16:42
He has a really hard job to be fair I mean he has to get players with potential on the cheap so we can sell them for a profit which is what just about ever other team on the planet are trying to do, but on the other hand we haven't had much interest in any of our players that warburton has signed so far but again how much has that to do with warburton and his stubbornness

09 Feb 2017 14:40:51
Mr Warburton. It's not random that we are behind Aberdeen having played one game more. It's not random that Keirnan and Tavernier keep their position in the team after repeatedly giving away goals and playing poorly. It's not random that Halliday is continually played out of position and asked to do a job he's not cut out for. It's not random that we've played Ross County 3 times and not beaten them.

It's not random that we've played hearts 3 time and been cuffed twice. It's not Random that we've failed to pick up points away from home against the biggest teams. It's not random that Rangers play the same formation week in week out. It's not random that substitutions are always made on 60 minutes. It's not random that substitutions are always like for like. None of the above is random I'm afraid. It's just bad management.

09 Feb 2017 15:31:57
Good thing Warbs has an account on here! He'll get to know about his bad management!

09 Feb 2017 16:23:05
There's onlyshow being facetious again. I'm assuming then that you think that MW's tactics are up to scratch?

09 Feb 2017 16:55:05
Parky, did I say that?

Your post seems to be directed at Mark Warburton, someone who I very highly doubt has an account on here. Facetious, maybe. Sarcastic, probably.

09 Feb 2017 19:42:23
Halliday isn't cut out for it end of he shouldn't be near the team

09 Feb 2017 19:56:25
Onlyshow. Considering you didn't have anything constructive to say regarding my post, just a sarcastic comment, then it was a fair assumption.

09 Feb 2017 23:44:50
totally agree with every comment parky there is loyalty on here and there is blind stupidity mr warburton is not up to the job and he is taking us backwards never did i expect for us to challenge celtic this season but to be as bad as we are at this stage in his management of our great club is heartbreaking the only consistency we have is warburtons bad formation and team selection

10 Feb 2017 12:27:24
Halliday would be a descent box to box midfielder but as a holding midfielder he doesn't have the quality.

09 Feb 2017 14:06:29
Freddie Adu anyone? could be worth a trial potentially play in the developmental team with view to offering a contract, I kno0w he hasn't had much luck recently but a guy with that potential when he made the break through is bound to have something to offer with the right level of training.

09 Feb 2017 15:43:16
Potential from 14-17 if i remember correctly.

Nothing of merit since and he's about to turn 28.

Not going to cut it at all.

09 Feb 2017 21:26:49
Freddy adu? He couldn't cut it handing out leaflets for a nightclub in his last job, yet you think he's good enough for rangers? Gie us peace. i'd take mr magoo before freddy adu.

10 Feb 2017 00:38:13
Adu is the best possible example of why we should never place too many hopes on young boys making the grade. It really is a lottery, nothing to do with age, as boys mature at different stages and often it's the later developers who weren't showing at 15-16 who went on to have top careers.

09 Feb 2017 11:41:56
I think unless we drop to below 4th this season. MW is here till the end. If he was to go on a run of games and get a clear second and a cup final then I honestly don't see him leaving at the end of the season unless an agreement is reached with the board. We don't have the money to get rid of him.
I am one of his biggest critics although I would just love to seem him change to a formation that suits the players he has. If he puts players in the correct positions that team may start to look a hell of a lot different.
we can slag players, and we do, but I think very few if any are happy with the style of play.
If I was a manager and my formation wasnt quite working I would get my entire squad in a meeting and say. let's put our heads together let's work this out.
I am in charge of quite a few people and I find it always helps when they give me advice as I give them advice and management back. I can't be right all the time and they help me.
They are a team. management/ board/ players they win together they loose together. So work together.

09 Feb 2017 19:46:13
He will be away end of season no matter how the rest of the season goes

09 Feb 2017 23:42:38
u know u hit the nail on the head trhis formation is a great idea and would work wonders in most leagues but we don't have the quality/ standard of player to do this and as any good manager should know they have to be flexible and play different formations for different games

10 Feb 2017 00:13:57
They are yes men, think that's what pissed barton off.

09 Feb 2017 11:35:45
Niko in light training.

09 Feb 2017 12:47:49
Saw that on the club website, jo scro. Running and kicking a ball which is good to see. Might see him playing again before the almost mythical Jordan Rossi ter! Did you see Davie Weir playing in one of their training games. Maybe he's realised he's no good as a defence coach and needs to start playing again-probably wouldn't be any slower than any of current stalwarts even now!

09 Feb 2017 12:59:52
Maybe Weir is a micro-manager and it's got to the point where he can't explain it and needs to just show them. Lol.

Looking forward to hearing any good news about Rossiter and to seeing Kranjcar available again.

09 Feb 2017 13:35:27
It's getting beyond a joke now with the boy rossiter. Players with career threatening injuries have came back quicker. Someone from the club should make a statement letting us know word up after all we were told he was 10 days away from playing that was in October.

09 Feb 2017 15:08:27
Had a feeling we might see niko back before end of season i'd imagine a couple of weeks of light training and some gym time and if no reaction then he will start a pre season type programme hopefully feature last half dozen games as his class could make difference in tight games

09 Feb 2017 10:37:10
I think we have all turned very quickly (maybe too quickly) on MW, when you consider progress on targets:

League - On track for European Qual. Place
Betfred Cup - Was a matter of when do we play Celtic, if we meet in the final we still go out.
Scottish Cup - Still in

I am with fans who are losing patience though, particularly after most recent interview claiming dropped points were due to "randomness". That is completely unacceptable, basically saying every game's a lottery and we shouldn't expect to win or draw or lose. That must change, because we do expect to win, and he must deliver wins far more consistently.

We can't and won't replace him with a better manager. I've seen plenty of suggestions and all are either not feasible or not good enough. We should give the team and manager our support until the end of the season and make decisions then.

10 Feb 2017 00:21:05
I'll rephrase that for you BlueIsTheColour! Not we've all turned against mark warburton! Some of you have turned against mark warburton, far too early IMO! I've always said to wait, and re-evaluate everything at the end of the season! He'll be here until the end of the season, minimum anyway! So fans should get that into their heads and at least support the manager and the team until the end of the season! Then find out where we are and what we do! Warburton AIN'T going anywhere until maybe the end of the season!

09 Feb 2017 10:26:29
I've said it before on here about the false information shared Re J Rossiter's injury.

Still no mention of a return or even what is the actual problem. Can anyone clarify any of these? don't know why Warburton isn't questioned on this especially after saying he was to return in October!

09 Feb 2017 10:54:32
It must be the only secret inside Ibrox. Everything else seems to be public knowledge.

09 Feb 2017 09:07:44
1st point - I am disappointed as a fan of this amazing club and a fan of the players that Rob Kiernan has been treated the way he has. I think it is sick that any player past or present be treated with such animosity when all he has given us is his effort and commitment. What message would that send to any player wanting to join us?
2nd Point - You can blame the manager all you like, it isn't his job to put the damn ball in the net!

09 Feb 2017 10:22:26
The treatment of RK is shocking! he's had some shockers but the big man has tried to do his job to the best of his limited ability its the manager who kept him in the side whe he was low on confidence and the fault lies at his door! Guy isn't rangers class but has imo given his all for us so he should never be threatened by so called supporters

09 Feb 2017 10:25:30
1st point - you say players shouldn't be treated with animosity

2nd point - you have a go at the players for not scoring enough goals

hypocrite

09 Feb 2017 10:26:03
Teddy of the south your correct the first point. 2nd point though. He is the manager, he is the one who trains ten every single day, he is the one who selects the style of play, he is the one who picks the team, he is the one
Who can see like all rangers fans world wide that we have nothing in leadership, nothing defense that makes us think we won't concede, no Aggresivness when don't have the ball, too slow at everything we do, lack of creativity final third, so in my opinion it is his fault .

09 Feb 2017 10:40:17
Maybe the treatment of kiernan, albeit bloody harsh, is built up through continuous dogs dinner performances and warbs arrogance of not listening to the fans, or seeing for himself how poor rob is, it was bad from the fans but i do see their point, but personally i wouldn't do that to any gers player, also, its all down to warbs who he picks and what strategy he uses to put the bloody ball in the net! It is down to warbs, he doesn't even have the sense to realise that when things aren't going to plan, you MUST change the strategy, bottom line, not sit back and cross your toes that we'll get a lucky result, he ain't no manager in my eyes now, i was fooled by our early success last season but to be found out by so many teams, and know it, but still not change, no that isn't how its done

09 Feb 2017 10:51:03
I think the way Kiernan has reportedly been treated is poor to say the least. I don't know of anyone who deliberately goes out to make mistakes, at any level of football. Unfortunately, some fans because of sentimental reasons, believe they have the right to abuse people as they see fit. Still is only a game, after all.

09 Feb 2017 11:44:22
Definitely, the fans who gave Kiernan that kind of stick aren't real fans. As much as it's frustrating that he has made a few howlers there no reason to hurl abuse at the guy. At the end of the day he play's for Rangers and until then we should as fans support and encourage the guy.
But part of the blame has to go to the manager. At the end of the day we haven't changed our system this season and it's proven not to work. He doesn't seem to have a plan B which I think every good manager should.
I would keep him until the end of the season and see how we finish from there. I wouldn't say it's been a disaster of a season, a few bad results. But think people need to remember we have just came up so this is mearley a break through season.

09 Feb 2017 21:56:42
Its his tactics that make the ball stay out the other teams net and always in our net. Daft statement to make teddy. Agree with your point about kiernan.

09 Feb 2017 22:16:38
Teddyofthesouth

Your right it isn't his job to put the ball in the net but it is his job to find someone who can and so far he has failed to do that

09 Feb 2017 02:31:46
If MW was to go at the end of the season, I can't see DK going for Mcleish. Not his style. If it was everyone would be calling for Stuart Mccoll's P45 at the moment.

09 Feb 2017 02:27:19
Klinsmann, de Boer, arveladze, Rafa, advocaat! Some honkin nonsense getting on this site now boys. Sometimes the right answer is the simplest one. we don't have the money to punt MW so it's his was till the end of the season. After that, who knows but knock yourselves out.

09 Feb 2017 09:55:34
100% correct.

09 Feb 2017 02:10:57
I'm actually dumbstruck by some of the opinions of some of us!?! Saying we will never go forward under MW when we already have. He's not been givin the war chest DK promised (I'm not dissin DK by the way) to mount a serious challenge on Celtic. What was expected? Winning the league! Really? 2nd and Europe was probably the very best we could/ can achieve this season. MW been unlucky in transfers. Barton was always going to be a gamble for any manager to take on and if it had worked out the way we had all wanted it to, MW would have been a genius, bit like Sir Walter and Diouf. And, while I'm havin a rant, the mob giving Rob Keirnan grief well, shame on you. Are you tryin to tell me that he's not tryin his best for the club? Negativity spreads like a cancer and it's getting to him, MW and making us all look like the people all the rest of them think we are. Be thankful for what we have cause it could be so much worse.

09 Feb 2017 21:24:32
Getting a bit sick of Rangers fans sticking by Warburton. Yous can say whatever you want about it being ludicrous we would win the league this season The point blank truth of the matter is Warbs and the board went for the title this season, totally changed there signing policy because of the semi final game, and it has been a total disaster. These were the people who said we could win the league and now that it has been a total shambles he is changing his tunexpected, some fans even trying to justify finishing third. Oh and if your going to say I'm talking bull or he said we'd be competitive or that no one from ibex said thathat then please remember the summer slogan.
GOING FOR 55. Now tell me I'm lying and stop making excuses for a bit part manager at best.

09 Feb 2017 22:29:47
Mw has had plenty of cash to easily get 2nd. If hearts and aberdeen had the same budget as us they would be miles infront of us but instead we struggling to pull infront of them. Mw has mismanaged the budget which has been proven with the majority of his signings. If he changed his tactics the players might play a lot better and prove to be good signings. Sadly though mw is too stubborn to change tactics and we will probably never know if the players could perform better in another tactic.

09 Feb 2017 23:49:57
first off king said he would get investment of around 30 million into the club but dumb people can't understand this doesn't mean the 30 million was to go on players the fact is there has been a lot of money put into the club to keep the doors opened and they had to do work to the training complex as it was dire aswell as the stadium aswell as bringing in what was it 9 new players.

10 Feb 2017 03:49:14
Well, if you believe that, in our current financial state that our board would see winning the league was a possibility your more stubborn as you say MW is my friend. Truth is 2nd and European football was the realistic goal. I'm sick of people not backing MW cause he and his team aren't living up to unrealistic expectations of the unrealistic few who will never be happy. Surely we're all in this together no? Or is it when things aren't going your way your out. As for the budget, money doesn't by success, just ask Mike Ashley.
