SG needs to stop changing the team every game. Settle on his 2 centre halfs along with Shagger. If 3 in the middle then Jack holding with Kent and Arfield pushing on. Morelos up top since we havn't really got anyone else. Tav and Barisic full backs. Wide men is open to debate.

Don’t be so Arsey. It’s the same 11 when fit and available. If any player shows a dip in form they get dropped. The point is that this constant changing of the team, particularly at centre half (only my opinion) is adding to our troubles.

We could have got another 2 seasons from Kenny Miller. He is a natural goalscorer and is a style of player we could be doing with to put all the loose crosses into the net. His goal yesterday was a classic example of what i'm talking about. Need a hately or a Prso style forward in January window. 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

I really don’t see why so many people insist on Jack. He was as poor as anyone last 2 games and he offers nothing going forward. When he does shoot it’s woeful. Ridiculous to play a midfielder in our team that can’t score in the Scottish league.

I understand your post TC71 but as far as your settled starting 11 goes, half the players you mentioned were either suspended or coming back from injury so understandably the managers hands are tied in certain circumstances. If Morelos and arfield ain’t suspended they start. Simples.

Arthur, watch that Dundee game back and count the forward passes Ryan Jack played. Seemed like only him and McGregor were trying to speed up play and get the team moving forward. He's surrounded by dross in there every week. His reading of the game is excellent. He is the one midfielder we can trust. We need better players around him though. As far as the goalscoring thing is concerned, none of our team seem to shoot from distance, which makes me worry it's a tactical thing. but his goalscoring record at Aberdeen was similar to Stuart McCall at Rangers. was he good enough?

Gerrard has today realised he can not trust certain players and said he will stick to the ones he can trust i really hope he now realises some of these players are not good enough.
I would like to cd partnership of goldson and katic restored as feel this is best options.
and as our midfielders are playing so poor i think its bout time mccorie got a chance the lad would add presence in there with his height and he can pass a ball.
And i would like to at least see us have 1 young striker on bench either dallas or mepbude as games like today they mite be able grab a goal when we need it.

Goldson is never as good when he plays next to worrall. He is our best defender, but he needs a set partner. Katic should never have been dropped the first time when he was on good form.

He doesn't need the armband to be a leader. If we gave Tav the armband to keep him at the club, it's a good decision. We have traditionally had leaders all over the park, something we lack just now. But Rome wasn't built in a day.

most of the loanees have lost their way, and one or two permanent signings too. Not offering this as an excuse, but most of these lads stared well and fell away over their time here, is there a connection with homesickness caused by unstable home life through living out of suitcases in digs or hotels, whereas permanent players bring their families to new homes and have proper home lives? No doubt posters will hammer me on this, but in my career i frequently had to go away for long periods and after a while it got me down, and I had to change jobs. Any thoughts on this?

Ritchie you may have a point but these are not acceptable reasons for our club. Playing under pressure is a massive part of being a Rangers player and what might be acceptable at smaller clubs is not at Ibrox. The performances in the last two games are unacceptable and Gerrard knows this.
Most of the players do not have the character to play for Rangers. Players who have the ability and character to win consistently as is required unfortunately cost a lot of money. Think of all the loan players we have had over the last 3 or 4 years and very few are good enough.
Having said this we are generally improving every year but not quick enough.

There living the dream, millionaire contracts, no money worries, idolised, i could cope easily being in a different country. its not mars we live in. we have a huge squad of players how many midfielders do we have, its ridiculous. the loaness except kent, not good enough. it will be another cull of players leaving again. on positive note,2 points behind, a win on thursday would change things.

I agree with Arthur. There seems to be an assumption that a kid from Liverpool must be better than a player at Dundee or Motherwell. it's not always the case, and the players at clubs up here are fighting for their livelihood while the kids from big clubs assume they are set for life and maybe don't have the same hunger. We shouldn't be a club that takes a lot of loanees in. But we are where we are. We needed numbers in the summer. Next summer we need quality over quantity, and hopefully the loans will be a thing of the past.

Middle of the park have jack and coulibally in front of the back four . Kent behind the strikers and play morelos with lafferty . Could play arfield in the middle I suppose. SG has to settle on his best 11 and stick with it. A good team is built on a steady centre half pairing and goalkeeper. Middle of the park if he continues with 3 has to be Jack, Kent and Arfield. The rest is up for debate.

Goldson and katic were terrific together at the beginning. I'd get them back together again and see how it goes. Still without a doubt IMO, goldson is the best centre half, at rangers.

Think Goldson is a good CB just not the Butcher/ Gough standard some on here claimed a few months back. Certainly he was responsible for goal today seemingly attempting to usher the ball back to McG as Miller put him under pressure. Poor shout from an experienced player.
I’m all for rotation if any player requires additional recovery time or there is dip in form. Not sure that SG is getting CB rotation correct. More worrying that there appears to be lack of cohesion and communication in the centre of defence. Much work to be done on the training field this week.

Christmas wish list time. I would like a solid right back. I would like Tav pushed into right midfield. I would like an attacking midfielder and a strong centre forward similar to Hately and Prso. Last two games have showed the rest of the SPL that we are seriously lacking attack minded players. I believe in SG going forward there is no doubting his passion for this club, but with a transfer window on the horizon I think he needs support from the board to make the required changes. c'mon the Rangers 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

Gutted at the game today, a lack of spark in the team. What worries me most is the drop in form of many players, Middleton started the season so strong, but now can't go passed players. Worral was looking solid but now making lotta mistakes. Tav has been a weapon but looked poor today. Candyman never got going. Morelos indiscipline fails to improve. Goldson looked the real deal, but is dodgy at times now. I'm sure SG will be on this and we are still second even with these poor displays so hope should not be lost.

What a fickle lot many posters on this forum are it seems. Yes, poor in last two games and only 1 point out of 6 but we are still 2nd in the league, 2 points behind the unwashed albeit played a game more but things can turn round. We can't be that bad if we are 2nd and still in Europe. A settled back four is a must, i. e. what was wrong with the Goldson/ Katic partnership and Barisic is now back fit. Get Halliday in the midfield with Arfield and Jack but we do need that creative spark. Also, why does SG only play with one striker? Surely a partner for Morelos (not Lafferty though his goal today was perfectly alright) . Let's stick with our boys. celtic will drop more points in the league too. Keep postive.

In my opinion the midfield is the major problem no creativity making our attack lol weak, no fight and backtracking puting our defence under pressure . Ball out wide all the time so predictable, no thru defence splitting passes etc. Imo we. need two sitting midfielders jack his one. and two forward thinking like airfield and a durrant type link up attack minded pkayer. morelos will screw the nut eventually . so January two new midfielders at least and send some of the dead wood back . surely we could have bloodied one or two of our so called hot prospects anyway still believe in SG.

Another simply atrocious performance any good Team project the ball with their lives, but our, s just cannot wait to give the ball to the opposition and make it so easy to play against. When you pay 2 Million for a supposed Internationalist Grezda but who, s first touch is terrible and contributes absolutely nothing. Also half the Team incl Worral, Eraja, Kent, Middleton, Rossiter, not 1st Team players then add Goldson, Tavenier, Candias, Lafferty were very poor.
There's the reason we cannot beat a very poor Dundee Team down to 10 men. Again Andy Halliday was our best/ only player and the officials were terrible and cost a goal or the game. Our problems lie at Ibrox and although I love Steve G, reckon he needs to learn quickly. Ok Walter Smith had funds but he would never set up a Rangers Team so easy too play against!

The one thing I really dislike about this team as a group is 1v1 defending. Whether it be forwards, mid or defence, the passive approach every time. Too many times we make a second rate scottish players look like national team players by giving them time to look up and wait to make a play. Other than Jack, who stuck a boot right away 1v1? This isn't Champions League its Dundee!

Unlucky today lads, team played well. Worrel just oozes class at the back. Candias is superb. Just think of where we were last year it's PROGRESS. All we needed was a ten foot high centre forward and we could have won. Rossiter looks class also. Another 100 games and he will settle in. I blame the pitch it's not for football. The Dundee players are used to it so they have the advantage. Taxi for Gerrard.

No I’m not. i'm a season ticket holder at Ibrox. BEING SARCASTIC. Crosses too high etc. Come on I’m fed up with all this we are better off now than last season rubbish. The signings haven’t been too clever apart from keeper. The team are labouring, no pace in midfield, no driving force. There are chances to go and play one touch through a defence. We don’t do that. No confidence. Turn and pass back or square.
I don’t understand what’s going on with the team. I see misplaced passes, slow centre backs no one in the box. Miller was winning headers! Said enough I’m dreading the next few games. To me the players have no confidence, that’s the managers fault!

We are a terrible team, just like midweek that performance today is unacceptable. We will be at least 10 points behind THEM before the old firm game and then we all know what's going to happen there, then they will still have a game in hand. People can try all they like saying it's one bad result but we have said that several times this season, we are a poor team and most of our players are average at best.
There is no hunger or desire to go and put teams to the sword. Gerrard is worrying me more and more, can't even beat the bottom placed team in the league when they are a man down for 3/ 4 of the game.

The defence is shocking. Worral hasn’t got a clue and Goldson is way off form.
Midfield isn’t much better. No spark, no imagination poor passing too slow. I’m not a fan of Ryan jack and Ejaria and Coulibaly are similar to Goldson in that they have lost form weeks ago.
Who scouted Grezda? He is never a player. Middleton has had a couple of decent games but again his form has gone. He was hiding today. Lafferty- ok goodgoal chopped off but didn’t win a header all day.
Terrible performance again today. No improvement in the league from last season. The football being played is awful.

Unbelievable. 10 Man, bottom of the league, team outworked our team today. Doesn't matter who the manager is, you play like that you deserve nothing! Dundee's goalie walked it, no pressure from the forwards on high balls at all.

This is the risk you take playing with a solo striker, one is left out in the cold and therefore starts to lose the form and sharpness

Celtic absolutely tore the league leaders apart yesterday and we can't create one chance against the bottom team who have 10 men. I'm starting to get concerned and fed up with our players inability to control their aggression. Morelos isn't the only guilty party and I know opposition players play a big part but we've got to be smarter. Too many times we're reacting to silly things and bringing the refs attention on us. Gerrards got the players fired up, which is a good thing, but its got to be used in the right way.

Katic, imo did nothing to justify being dropped and the boys confidence must be shot so he'll be be more prone to a mistake if and when he comes back in. Ryan Hardie In amongst the goals yesterday, I really really want him to succeed a Rangers. He’s been unlucky with injuries but hopefully push on now. If he can prove himself at Livi this year there maybe a place for him in the first team next year.

I'm not happy with Lafferty as our no.2 choice striker. Never really rated him. Before, he was playing in a much more successful team. Don't start me off about Hardie again! If these youngsters aren't given a chance then how can they ever break through? If Morelos leaves in January or is injured where will the goals come from? Anyway, I'm going for a 2-0 win today though with Dundee winning well last week they might be up for this.

Hopefully Hardie and Dodoo are both being evaluated and at end of the season are either sold or given a proper opportunity for the striker positions. When fit and on form believe both have more to offer than Lafferty.
