Watched the video online of the lad taking his sick dad to meet mark hately and our manager and all the first team, if your on here mate we'll done on giving your old man a great day out, a horrible disease that has touched us all, like your dad said, a rangers man for life.

09 Oct 2019 06:36:48
Here, here victory or death. I agree with every word you said mate!

09 Oct 2019 07:35:47
Victory, watched it last night to and was very emotional and we could all be in that position! Enjoy life guys and enjoy our wonderful club the Glasgow Rangers! 🇬🇧✌️.

09 Oct 2019 13:01:53
Great post Victory, well said.

09 Oct 2019 17:50:19
Fantastic gesture, great occasion and the icing on the cake with the team photo, always the class act our club!

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

09 Oct 2019 22:59:39
Terrific gesture from the Club, I had Cancer myself in 2017, and was lucky that it was caught early and was cured with surgery and radiotherapy. Hope Dougie keeps well, and keeps fighting.

08 Oct 2019 19:48:16
Evening all.
Got tickets for the legends game, taking my niece up, any one any ideas time wise when the players tend to arrive at Ibrox for such games?

08 Oct 2019 19:56:30
Normally two hours b4. Entire side door at main stand beside Copland.

08 Oct 2019 20:05:11
Cheers i wasn't sure if they went in the main door as normal.

08 Oct 2019 21:06:24
I don't think the Rangers guys will turn up on a bus. I think it will be pretty informal. I. e. arrive individually. Not sure though could be wrong.

08 Oct 2019 21:37:31
Your probably right mate. Just hoping my niece can catch some of the past stars. She's been lucky enough to meet some of the current stars so would love her yo meet some of the past stars.

08 Oct 2019 22:02:00
A couple of hours before at the front door and you will definitely see some of them mate.

08 Oct 2019 22:58:10
I see celtic got into more trouble with flares at the cluj game they really need to stop wearing them.

08 Oct 2019 23:16:04
Perfect cheers. Hopefully we get to see the gaffer pull on the blue as well.

08 Oct 2019 15:34:49
hi
Still a long way to go I know but as the league stands it is in Rangers own hands, and if we keep winning the pressure on Celtic increases.

Until we drop points Celtic can't do anything about it until the next old firm game, and if we win that game, then the Gerrard effect will go into overdrive.

happy days.

08 Oct 2019 18:42:28
Instead of if's, its imperative that we win at tynecastle after the break and prove we have the mentality to sustain our position. 👍.

08 Oct 2019 19:57:28
Agree coldo, need to keep winning, four wins in league would be good.

08 Oct 2019 21:34:15
4 league games over next month culminating with Livy away. Maximum points from these, beating Hearts in Cup and taking 4 points off Porto is achievable heading into the next international break. Anything less imo disappointing.

08 Oct 2019 13:37:41
J master, going back thru old posts, saw urs and couldn't agree more. At PL level the minimum requirement should be a grass pitch. The point about teams taking advantage of their plastic/ rubber/ wooden pitches didn't occur to me. Can't be that effective of Killie going back to grass. What bothers me is think there is a large h&s issue regarding possible injuries but SFA doing hee haw.

08 Oct 2019 14:27:45
Although pitches are not great they are cost effective for smaller clubs. I don't like playing on them myself but u cannot say the likes of murphy wod not have got same injury on grass. as soon as someone gets injured its the pitches that get blame. We have these pitches at hummel training centre. and a lot of boys clubs arou d country play on them.

08 Oct 2019 15:50:14
No team in the top 4 English divisions is allowed plastic. Must be a good reason. Maybe if you can't afford grass you shouldn't be playing professional football.

08 Oct 2019 17:13:34
This might not be very popular, but maybe the revenue split from TV etc should be more evenly divided to allow smaller clubs to afford grass if we outlaw plastic. If we can squeeze more money out of sky, BT etc on the basis that we will ban plastic pitches and improve the overall product, then it could be cost neutral at worst. Everybody wins. It seems too simple an idea though. I'm sure someone at the SPFL must have looked at this already.

08 Oct 2019 18:17:09
I wouldn't be so sure jmaster. It borders too much on common sense 😄.

08 Oct 2019 18:40:01
Fair point JM, help them to get back to grass. I don't mind plastic for amateur football as it is better than a mudbath but for top level football it's a huge no.

08 Oct 2019 19:58:38
Problem is clubs like livi, Hamilton and killie don’t want grass. To change we require a 11-1 vote.

08 Oct 2019 20:53:18
Hate plastic pitches but if teams are going to use then they should be the very best. The YB’’s pitch last week seemed better than we have in Scotland although know Liv’s superior to Killie and Hamilton.

08 Oct 2019 21:22:04
Inverness have just laid a new grass pitch costing £75k.

I’ve been told that Hearts spent 10 x that on a hybrid.

Not sure about the economics and regular upkeep but up front costs are certainly better.

08 Oct 2019 22:03:05
Bankie they are same surface. 4g artificial surface. Same as forfar and montrose etc. The benefit it gives them is low up keep cost and can rent it out for boys clubs etc duri g week or 7 a sides across the pitch.

08 Oct 2019 13:30:46
Surprised to see Grezda starting in development squad v Carlisle today wonder if there are scouts watching SG adamant he'd never wear jersey again! Strange one.

08 Oct 2019 12:31:26
Just noticed Daisy Yore you made a comment at me regarding my thoughts on Shankland. I said if its the correct price we should go for him, then you tried to compare us getting him to replacing laudrup for templeton. Sorry but first morelos is nowhere near the player laudrup was and shankland is a far better player than templeton. If we can get shankland for £500,00 I think rangers would be 'absurd' not to get him. Can I remind you morelos came from the finish league a far far poorer league that ours. Strangely enough I do watch and I watched him when they played alloa and he looked far better than the players around him.

08 Oct 2019 13:03:43
Finty they r quoting two million for Shankland, not worth your 500k to sit in stand,
We have Alf, Defoe Stewart and Murphy all miles better than Shankland.

08 Oct 2019 14:02:27
Are you Shankland's agent? Why would we pay half a million, plus wages for somebody to sit in the stand, then inevitably leave for a nominal fee? We wouldn't do it and comaprisons with players from past eras of the club are irrelevent to the current status of the team.

08 Oct 2019 17:04:23
Not sure where the evidence is that shankland is better than templeton.

08 Oct 2019 20:57:26
Shankland is a good player but not good enough for us now.

08 Oct 2019 21:12:06
i really can't understand the obsession with signing Shankland. the boy will never be our first pick. if and when morelos leaves we will go for better than shankland so we should sign someone to sit in the stands in the meantime to rot away, not good for us nor for him.

if he isn't played he won't increase in value, if he doesn't increase in value and be a good sell on then why take him in the first place. or are we back to him being a diehard rangers supporter allegedly.

09 Oct 2019 16:20:30
This thread will come back to haunt us because he’s not long for Dundee United, so he’ll either go to England and bang them in or worse, end up at Celtic. He’s exactly the kind of low cost punt we should be taking. Celtic have made some great ones over the last few years with Armstrong, Christie etc costing buttons, but also let the likes of McGinn and Robertson get away from them. If we could get Shankland for £1m it’s a no brainer for me.

09 Oct 2019 17:30:14
We could have got him for free in summer and didn't so we eont buy him now for a million.

08 Oct 2019 12:26:53
Well rangers top of the league start of october. I firmly believe by december if we keep up this form we could do what liverpool are doing and just keep winning every league game. i can honestly seeing us winning every game up to and including celtic on the 29th of december.

08 Oct 2019 16:09:50
Go to Porkheid, press and attack like our normal game and we will pump them👌🇬🇧.

09 Oct 2019 22:20:38
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Yes its fantastic that we are top, but we've been down this road before. Hopefully Gerrard can keep the players grounded. Still a long way to go. More of the same would good though.

08 Oct 2019 11:04:22
Guys looking for your thoughts re some of our loan players, does anyone disagree and still think any of these players still have a chance. Imo I think that Middleton, Rossiter, Ruddens, will get no where near our first team in the future. I also think that Docherty and McCrorie are seriously going to struggle.

Imo I just think that we have moved on as a club and are looking for a better standard of player than any of the above.

08 Oct 2019 11:17:07
middleton is still just a young lad. The rest? Who knows.

08 Oct 2019 11:22:40
Rossiter himself seems to have written off his Rangers career Docherty and McCrorie I’m sure will have a future If they bide their time, Middleton not sure Rudden i'd agree with you Our one loan deal I can’t get head round is Andy King why did we bother?

08 Oct 2019 11:32:48
I think McRorie, Middleton and Docherty should be given a chance.

08 Oct 2019 12:53:16
I agree with Blue89, I feel the above 3 have something to offer, I'm actually disappointed that Docherty has not been given much game time since his return from Shrewsbury. I also want to see Defoe, and McGregor extending their contracts, and, young Robbie McCrorie becoming our back up keeper next season, I thinks Fod's is a good goalkeeper and has to move on for game time.

08 Oct 2019 13:05:05
Rossiter very unlucky, I wish lad all the best for the future.

08 Oct 2019 13:34:46
I tend to agree re rossiter not getting a renewed contract.
Also out of contract June 2020, firth, foderingham, Alnwick, Herrera and Holt, do not renew contracts. Good savings
Mcgregor, Davis, Defoe renew contracts
Halliday, probably move on
Flanagan, great cover both full back position, so I’d renew.
Thoughts guys.

08 Oct 2019 14:03:30
Middleton, McCrorie and Docherty will be back. Whether they have a future beyond that is uncertain.

08 Oct 2019 16:04:59
Middleton will be kept. as will McCrories (both) Alnwick and Fods both away. Firth may get another contract depending. Halliday will probably get another too.
Davo, shagger and Flan will hopefully get resigned.
doc, well as much as i'd like him to make it, alas he looks like he may not. Rossiter won't be kept. A number of the kids will fill in some gaps.
I'd expect a couple of new faces too at higher level.
Otherwise it will depend on sales as to what we do

All imo of course.

08 Oct 2019 15:55:53
Who would any of them replace in the team? There are five in front of Docherty, Middleton can't get a start with Hivs, McCrorie is still a hopeful. Rossiter and Rudden are as good as away.

08 Oct 2019 17:06:42
I would renew Fod's I still see him as having a future post Mcgregor and is a valuable number 2.
Halliday I think probably deserves a new deal assuming he knows he won't play much, he won't be on massive wages anyway and is a good figure in the squad.

08 Oct 2019 17:39:09
middleton is 19, he's played in 5 games for hibs, starting 3, he's got 1 assist. We've got him signed up till 2023, so it looks very unlikely he's going to be leaving.

08 Oct 2019 18:06:44
I was only referring to players whose contracts r up 2020.

08 Oct 2019 21:06:01
McCrorie and Middleton should be given an opportunity to work their way back into the squad after loans. Also believe Docherty will get a run this season and equip himself well. If Halliday’s contract up in the summer think he will have opportunity to extend.

09 Oct 2019 16:22:16
Not convinced about any of the others, but McRorie is top class. Some of the performances he has put in for his age have been great.

08 Oct 2019 08:20:43
Just reading the interview with Dean Shiels in the Record about his time with us where he talks about Warburton's clockwork subs, and it just brings it home how far we have came when you think of the likes of Kevin Kyle, Sheils, Sandaza, Kiernan, Zelalem etc and that horrendous Blackthorn Cider kit - wow, those were dark days.

08 Oct 2019 12:27:32
Totally agree mate, that was the point I was trying to make last week when a lot of us were overreacting to losing against young boys, we have came on leaps and bounds in just a few seasons 👍.

08 Oct 2019 14:04:04
Well said man. There's a lot of folk with very short memories on here.

08 Oct 2019 21:11:57
Kiernan, now there was a CH To be honest I thought the young boy Zelalam loaned from Arsenal was decent and an upgrade at the time.
