Regarding our upcoming betfred league cup semi final against aberdeen, i really do think that gerrard will and should play ryan kent, as our makeshift striker, through the middle, against them! With fredo morelos suspended and kyle lafferty cup tied, i reckon our best option, is to play kent up against the sheep's slow centre halfs! I believe kent would rip them apart with young glenn middleton,
playing in kent's usual position, on the left wing against the sheep!

I still think, as I posted previously, that he will have the front three constantly switching and moving in and around the channels, snapping at the feet of those pretty clumsy defenders and creating space and opportunities for each other, as well as midfielders joining in with deeper runs. Whoever is named as the 'central' player certainly won't stay there long, and we'll run the legs off them.

Super I thought our best option would have been Arfield through the middle but I kinda agree with you and Dutycalls. Kent through the middle might just work.

Our recent games have seen us scoring from all over the team, fantastic to see, and while its great to see us playing open, aggressive, fast football for me we still are not making enough chances in most games. For a team of strangers 2 months ago to how we are playing is a huge step forward great to be a bear right now.

Kent through the middle with middleton and Candeias either side, but with the pace and movement they have they can switch and interchange and with midfielder arriving in the box we can be a real handful for their defense.

although I think Middleton will grow into a fantastic player, I think once Grezda is up and running he will be there or there abouts. just paid best part of 2 mill for the lad. hopefully he gets up to speed during international break. although the way Kent and Candieas have played last 2 games he has got his work cut out to break into 1st 11. unless he plays in front 3 v Aberdeen.

Supercooper this could be an absolute nightmare for the Aberdeen defence, I love it!
We should play a 4-3-2-1 with Middleton and Candeias playing the wings and Kent through the middle. Then that leaves Ejaria, Arfield and Coulibaly to run the midfield.

I was annoyed when Katic was dropped as well and I wasn’t sure about Worrall at first but I think he’s been brilliant the last couple of games so it’s a hard one. I’d rather we developed Katic since he’s our player. But all in all, having 3 really good CBs is a nice problem to have after the dross of Russell Martin etc.

SG might just be keeping certain players on their toes so as not to get complacent and take their place for granted. Thought the same myself as Katic has been great but last two games have, in periods at least been our best two performances of the season so far with Worrall included in the side. Method in the madness from SG.

Gerrard is playing what he sees, a winning team is developing from that and it's got nothing to do with loan deals, a possible three at the back in future or anything other than the manager's plan. As for Worrall being shaky in every game, you must be either joking or Stevie Wonder.

Katic has been carrying a groin strain . I'm pretty sure that's the reason and wouldn't have been able to give his all in previous 2 games.

Katic is not injured! Do you not watch the press conferences. Katic personally says he trusts Gerrard to rest him because it’s going to be a long season. Gerrard never mentions that he’s carrying a groin strain.

Another outstanding team display in the first half. Can’t fault any of the players, to a man every one of them was brilliant.
Have to single out McGregor for 2 outstanding saves in the first 10 mins and Kent who just gets better and better.
Is it any wonder we took our foot of the gas in the second half considering the effort the team has put in over the last 2 games.
Time for some to recharge the battery during the latest international break and we go again.

Next set of league games its Celtic v Hibs and Hearts v Aberdeen while we play Hamilton. Points are going to be dropped in these two games regardless so I hope we keep the momentum going. Also, Hearts v Hibs at the end of the month. The league could look differently this time next month!

I noticed this as well, hearts and Hibs both have a hard run of games in the next month so I think we’ll see a more realistic table by the end of the month. We just need to focus on one game at a time though.

Away to Easter Rd won't be easy - as much as it pains me to say it Lennon has them playing well, but it will be a good test for us and if we can win that one i'm confident we will pick up the games around it and it will be game on - Its quite possible 4 of the 5 teams above us could drop points in the next round of matches - its imperative we take advantage and trounce Hamilton.

Outstanding result yesterday fellow bretheren. I was a bit worried when we took foot of the gas and started to give them space to play. However, homework was done and the league leaders were well and truly taught a lesson. Team effort was solid and the Morelos goal was cheeky class. Confidence oozing from the wee man now so long may it continue. I've been saying for years to dip the German market for players. Brilliant week's work. We are the people 🇬🇧.

Jordy I think you are right there! No one in our squad has come from the Bundesliga, although I do understand Buddyblue's sentiment because the German market is an afforable one for us and they have some cracking players. Nonetheless, Morelos came from Helsinki.

Apologies for the way I worded this one guys. What I meant to say is that I would Like SG to dip into the german market in January. Good strong league and players seem to adapt the the Scottish style without too much fuss. Hope this clears that one up and apologies for the wording. Anyhoo, anyone agree with my thoughts on the German market for players?

Fair doos chief, the German market does have plenty of good, technical, intelligent footballers. We definitely need an actual attacking midfielder, one that can play that killer pass to take defenders out the game. Most of our CM'S can tackle and pass a ball there is no doubt but I never expect any of them to really drive forward beat a man and crack one from long range. Don't get me wrong I know a good one of those will set you back quite a bit, but I feel that's really the only thing our team is missing, so yeah Germany, Scandinavian countries, Croatia decent places to look for such a gem.

I feel exactly the same way jordy15. Our midfield is all about holding and passing at present. If we can grab another striker and a good strong attacking midfielder who fancies a dig from 20 yards I think SG will have a cracking squad that can go anywhere confidently and take back this league where we belong. 🇬🇧.

Not sure BuddyB. I'm not convinced we can afford much from the big 5 leagues.
I think the best bargains are to be found in eastern Europe like Katic, Barasic and Grezda. hopefully they will all kick on.
On the subject of players from countries that adapt well, I think we have to look at Holland.
Most players do well that have played there.
From way back when Aberdeen bought Snelders and Gilhaus, through the period of the De boer and Mols etc. Not forgetting Larsson for them. More recently VVD for them.
