does any 1 have an idea on how much ally will have to spend this summer

blu bear

Craig Whyte said to pledge £12 million

12million but 5 of that is to go on wages, up keep of facilities and other stuff throughout the season

Glad to hear Coisty was away in south America scouting talent. This is what we have to do, spread the met far and wide to get the best young players. Hopefully we can get a couple of young prospects from it and sell them on for crazy money to EPL teams! We need to box clever in the market and get value for money, not alot of cash in the south American game

Players i would look at - In: Goodwillie 1.5m, Eremenko 1m, couple of south americans free or small fees, dorrans 3m, cuellar 2m, bartley 1m, Faye free, miller 500k

Out: Bougy 2m, Mcshagger 7m (don't want him to go but good money and we would be able to get 3 - 4 players for that cash

This isn't rumour really but would like to see bougy used in a swap deal for either bartly or cueller. Ally shouldnt try to convince him to stay cause if a players heart is else where he doesn't deserve to be a bear. Bougy came to us as a nothing we made him into something but back in england he'll be a nothing again. People need to stop the dreamland rumours such as berbatov coming and that. As the current state of scottish football stands the only players we'll attract is players that want a stepping stone into the EPL. Plqyers might want champions league football but they also want high wages. Ally will sign players that him and walter spoke about. Walter would have gave him ideas to help him out in his 1st season.

Roll on title no 4

This makes so much sense to me, if bougy wants to go let him and if that means we get a younger and i would say better defender then its a win win situation, bougy straight swap for bartley. fantastic idea.

----------------------------------------------------
This doesn't make any sense to me. Bougy is a worse player than either Bartley or Cuellar, so why would Arsenal or Villa take him as part of any deal. If Bartely and Cuellar can't get into Arsenal and Villa respectively, why would these clubs want Bougy. Terrible idea.
--------------------------------------------------
it might not make sense but if its going to happen would it not be good business for rangers??
i read on another site that mr wenger likes bougy and wants him, if its not true its not true but we are just saying we would like to see it happen thats all, not saying its going to happen 100%

aww naw, give me mulgrew, loovens, rogne and mamawsgotabigstick any time before cuellar, hahaha not cuellar is twice the player of all these idiots put together. celtic fans are just worried because they know this will be another season of heartbreak for them, not good enough, you just cant get enough, aye points that is. hahaha

Can't believe it, just heard Ally is actually going to be PLAYER MANAGER!! Albertz is on a flight back and Goughy has sold his house in the States. Scott Nisbet has had his right leg completely replaced and McLaren is on the Slimfast diet preparing for the close season. Van Vossen has begged to make amends for past mistakes and Kuznetsov is almost back to full fitness. All we need now is to get the scouts out and find Marco Negri!

All in fun WATP

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has not given up hope of keeping Madjid Bougherra at Ibrox.

The Algerian defender hinted yesterday that he's keen on a return to the Barclays Premier League, with various sources reporting Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is one of those considering a move for the player.

"My focus is still on the Premier League. I played there for six months with Charlton and I want to go back as six months isn't a long time, " Bougherra told the Scottish Sun.

"I have told him (McCoist) the truth because I respect him. He knows me, he knows what I need and he knows I have a good relationship with the club but if I go, I'd have to go cleanly."

However, the former Scotland striker hasn't given up hope of keeping Bougherra with the Gers, and admits he's one of a number of players who could sign a new deal.

"On the contract front, I have spoken to a few of the boys and the feedback on the talks has been positive, " McCoist told the Scottish Express.

Naismith will NOT be sold during this summer. He signed a new deal in March or there abouts. Also, in my opinion, he is not worth less than £5-7.5 million. Not heard any rumours about Humphrey or Vaughan or Frings but would love to see them at the club. The only thing I have heard is that Cuellar wants to come back. I have also not heard anything about Ramussen and tbh, it would be a waste of time. Smeltic will end up putting a £4 million price tag on him.

Big Davo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What is it with this Frings dude???? Too old I would rather stick with McCulloch and that's saying something! As for Rasputin (joke) if you thought Boydy lacked mobility this guy is slightly better! I honestly have no idea if this is accurate however I hope to this is bulls**t, I would take A Smith anytime ahead of that man even with his lack of football.

why would we buy 3 st that r all the same type of players we also have 2 Nikica Jelavic , Kyle Lafferty that will be the Forward S we use next season with if we go with 2 up but i think we might go with 3 with the 2 wide Forwards play like wings at times kinda the way chelsea played under jose mourinho

ed what u think :)

{Ed010's Note - with regards to the original post, I think that Goodwillie and Hemed are potential targets but Kenny Miller will remain at Bursaspor. If we were to sign Goodwillie and Hemed and in conjunction with Jelavic and Lafferty, we would have quite a potent attack and because of the the players own personal attributes, would allow Ally to change formation quite easily and effectively.

wot u think ed?

{Ed010's Note -I think that the chances of Rangers being able to buy any midfield player from the EPL, have just about been extinguished with news of Jordan Henderson's £20m+ transfer to Liverpool. As a result of that deal and the amount that Liverpool were prepared to pay, every other EPL club will inflate the prices of their star performers accordingly, so if Brunt had been on the market at £4m this morning, he will now be on the market at somewhere between £6-£7m tonight.

Obviously I'd be interested in this Maxi Moralez guy - been a while since we've had an Argentinian international (Canniggia aside!)

However... apparently he's only 5'3" - don't you guys reckon that the big wallopers in the SPL would kick lumps out of him? The fact that he flopped in Russia makes me very way.

All they dates are way before rangers and celtic became big rivals rangers and celtic were close back then .
you will never see established first team players move from rangers to celtic or vice versa.
example kenny miller we all new smith wanted him celtic sold him to derby and rangers bought off derby we all new that was going to happen way before it happened .

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah it's unlikely, except with youngsters under the radar where they're not going to have any influence on proceedings on the park for a good few years.

The Rasmussen transfer story is utter guff. The only way this will happen is if Rangers offer Celtic something ridiculous like 5 or 6 times his value such that it'd be more stupid to turn the offer down than sell to their rivals which ain't gonna happen.

I have just read the circular sent out to all Rangers season ticket holders. Seen as how Craig Whyte has put in place plans encase the HMRC case goes against us I think we as fans have to think about what happens if it does go against us. If the case goes against us we will have to pay back the money put in by Craig Whyte and then pay HMRC. If the bill is over £40 million as has been rumoured then Murray Park will need to be sold. In this scenario I think the only way out would be a fan takeover of the club. Benfica is owned by the fans, they have 200,000 members each paying 12 euros a month. (Roughly) This creates a capital injection of nearly 30 million euros a year. So fellow Rangers fans would you be willing to pay £10 a month to be a part owner of Rangers? It may be necessary if the case goes against us. What do you reckon ed? and how many fans could we get involved?

GovanFR {Ed001's Note - I think that is how all clubs should be run myself, excellent idea if you ask me.}

Cos Miller scored over 20 goals in 6 months.More than turning the Hooper did in 12.Cuellar won the treble, is still 29 and has his best football ahead of him.The rest I do not want back.Miller is staying in Turkey anyway. So we can forget about than one.Rob Earnshaw I would want instead on a free.He has the pace to score loads of goals in the SPL.

for everyone aswell that wants Edu to be sold, it aint gonna happen, mccoist likes him and tbh he is a good player for the squad, guys in ibrox just need to get off his back, scored a few important goals and was fit all season.

Cueller will sign, hes being allowed to head to glasgow tomorrow for talks, hopefully we can offer a good contract! will cost about 2 mil aswell.

Bartley could be signed by friday aswell permenent for about 1 million as wenger told him today hes free to go and arsenal want to use the money for Nasri's wages.

Im a bit sceptical about signing players from south america, i dont think there suited very well to our league...there cheap thou and easy to sell on, i prefer playrs a bit closer to home.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

There've been few South Americans to do well in the SPL, but there's been plenty Scheidt as well.

Izaguirre had a great season for us last year but he's a naturally strong, quick player atheleticism wise. Juarez didn't have such a great season but in fairness he's in a similar mold build wise and given a run I reckon would do the business.

Some of them however, although skilled, get knocked about too easily. If teams do sign from South America (or anywhere for that matter) they need to be pretty well built as otherwise the Ian Blacks and Gary Kenneths of the SPL will snap their legs in two before they can do their fancy bit of dribbling. Weiss I thought looked a cracking prospect when he was at Rangers but he's built like a twig so unless he goes past a defender he gets knocked about.

carlos cuellar on his way to murray park for a medical

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Im a huge gers fan and really happy to hear that cuellar could possibly be coming back as hes a proven winner, however, having just had keyhole surgery for minor knee damage how does he pass a medical?! just a thought!

Agree2 Disagree0

How is cuellar a proven winner and why do you lot love him so much he played 1 season for and left the moment a bigger club came in for him and now after 3 seasons of not playing much first team in which he was tried at cb and rb and still didn't really make an impact at villa so by all means sign him for all the loyalty he's showed rangers

This has been the rumour every summer for the last 5 years or something. He won't be coming back to Glasgow. Just today for example, he turned down a move to Anzhi in Russia, stating that he doesn't want to leave his home and that he and his family are happy in Milan. (Sky Sports; Italian Sports Mag) If he's turning down a big bucks move to Russia, then he certainly isn't coming here.

People need to stop with the utter nonsense rumours on this site, I know it's a rumours page, but some of them are ridiculous. We need to start looking forwards, not backwards and just distance ourselves from any ex-Player.

its not nonsense its speculaition seeing how his wife is scottish he has stated that when he quits football him and his family might move back to scotland to live. Also has said he'd like to end his days at rangers one way or another.

Seriously why would we want the likes of Alan smith at rangers we have won 3 in a row with out the likes of his type, we had Beattie a waste of time all power n time should be put into goodwillie he is what we need.

Mcgregor
Whittaker
Weir - Bartley
Cuellar
Davis
Mcculluch
Naismith
Goodwillie
Jelavic
Lafferty

Gently put the young lads in don't rush them to early.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Best comment made on here in weeks mate we have a good team i want goodwillie (coisty will turn him into some player) cuellar and a few extra young ones who we can break in as squad players

Agree1 Disagree0

I think I just said the truth mate we have showed that no matter how many players a team can buy you can't buy titles.

We need to keep what we've got get goody n a certain few on board

This season coming is tge most important in rangers history in years as the more titles you get the harder it is to take defeat, get a couple new boys in use the youth as our substitutes getting them experience.

Celtic will spend bigtime this year for definite that's why we have to spend but it's all about quality of player we can get.

Please please ally leave all ex epl players smith beattie

4 in a row !!

RE:gattuso in talks with rangers and is wiiling to drop his wages he said he still has somthing to offer the spl

Not happening-happy to stay at Milan.
Others Mentioned:
Alan Smith - doesn't offer us anything
Carlos Cuellar - take him back in a heartbeat
Kyle Bartley - would be an asset, sign him up either loan or permanent deal
Danny Wilson - mmm, only on loan.
Frings - not sure.Good for Ness, Hutton etc though
Goodwillie - wait til case is done with.
Conway - squad player at best
Namouchi - behave yerself
Novo - squad player
Kenny Miller - only for what we got for him
Tomer Hemed - don't know much about him

Just my opinions, apart from Bougherra and Beattie hopefully no-one else will leave(1st team squad).

Did you happen to see miller's interview where he advised he was pretty much forced out the door at ibrox for the money? When he left we had no guarantee on a buyer and Lloyds who were controlling rangers decided to cash in! The guy didn't ditch us, he was pushed out, the same way Alan Hutton was when he wanted to stay with us and rejected spurs originally only to "change his mind" an hour later!

I truly don't think some of you people realise how seriously close to losing our club we were!

(16) (8)

To the above poster
I did see Millers interview and i for one don't believe a thing he says. Walter smith offered him a new contact and he knocked it back, I know people will say its because Rangers offered him half his current wages but this again is rubbish, the deal was roughly around the wages he was on when he came to Rangers.
Lee Mcculloch signed a contact extension the same time as Miller got offered his and he signed his without any pay cut.
I firmly believe Miller saw what was going on with Rangers, was looking for that last big pay deal, saw the money getting offered to him from other clubs and walked away.
And that is why my fellow bears I don't think Ally will want him back at Ibrox.
And for the last part about we don't know how close we came to losing our club , I think we all knew how close it came to losing our beloved club.

anyway this is just my opinion

"A lot of people have been talking about it on the internet and on Twitter saying, 'I want Carlos back - or Carlos has to be here'.
It's exciting because Rangers, for me, has so many good memories. It's exciting if there is a possibility to go back because all of those good memories come back - the city, the club, the people, how much they loved me and how much I loved them."

Forget Gattuso he's finished and would likely be a liability. Love the guy but no, and as for Frings, not sure have not seen much of him lately and he is no spring chicken to have him in ahead of some younger hungrier youth seems foolish. I would love to see us go for Nolan.

THE Old Firm are set for a transfer tug of war after BOTH targeted Turkey centre-half Gokhan Zan.
Galatasaray star Zan, 29, is available on a free after vowing to quit the club to fulfil his dream of playing abroad.
He's currently on a staggering £50,000-a-week and while the Turks want him to stay Zan is prepared to take a 50 per cent pay CUT.
That has alerted new Rangers boss Ally McCoist and his Celtic rival Neil Lennon.
Sources in Turkey told SunSport the Old Firm clubs are firmly in the hunt for Zan, who has won 33 caps and, at 6ft 3in, is known for his physical style.
He would suit both Old Firm clubs, who have been asked to be kept informed of his situation.
McCoist is desperate to land a tried and tested stopper. As SunSport revealed he's already in the hunt to sign ex-Napoli star Emilio Cribari as well as Danny Wilson on loan from Liverpool. Carlos Cuellar could also be an option.
Lennon is keen to find a partner for Daniel Majstorovic. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud confirmed McCoist wanted to take him to Ibrox - but he signed a new deal with Montpellier instead.
The striker netted 14 goals in his first season in Ligue 1 after turning down Celtic last summer.
And despite interest from Gers, he signed a new three-year deal with Montpellier last week.
He said: "There was never any direct contact from Rangers but they were following me. It didn't get far but maybe I can look at a big club like Rangers or Celtic in the future."

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sounds like bs to me. Seems too clich that as usual both of the OF are after him and he just so happens to be wanting a move anywhere abroad and is willing to take a pay cut from 50 grand to 25 conveniently putting his wages around about the edge of either Celtic or Rangers' spending limits.

Aside from that Galatasaray are a quality outfit. "Abroad" in this case means Germany, Italy, Spain or more likely the EPL.

Cueller got us to the Uefa final with Epic displays against Werden Bremen and Fiorentina.

He is better than Bougherra by a country mile, he has been played out of position in almost every game for Villa plus had a 'mare of a season with injury.

Would love to see him along side either Bartley or Wilson. It will be good to see a great backbone from Keeper to Striker in the team. Just need a solid midfielder to allow Davis to roam
