So, it seems a certain team, bank and a City Council may have a very favourable and lucrative partnership, In the early stages of being investigated in europe. I hope that all is above board and no "sporting Integrity" or potential "Frauds" are being suggested. I wonder if there will be massive media hype and shouts of "Guilty" prior to an outcome of any investigation, by so called reporters or pitiful bloggers. . let's watch and see with interest! and remember what goes around comes around. . every dog has his day!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah we cold list a fair few number of reporters who will be completely silent, will also be interesting to see if Neil Patey (who somehow to tv stations seems to be the only guy in the world that can talk about finances in football) appears on screen to discuss/explain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lw think Neil Patey was constantly questioned about Rangers financial situation because i'm sure he is a Rangers fan and ST holder at Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just you keep being fiddled while Rome burns, good to see your 'fans' associations ( I have yet to have a bear pal that's a member or even knows a member btw) are focusing your attention on real issues. It's a non story, like a lot you had coming your way was - ffs Wisen up before it's too late.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Cooncil Tax payer, I would hope there will now be a full and transparent investigation into the allegations. However, I also think that this story is also an attempt to take Rangers' fans eyes off the ball with regards to their own club _title deeds, floating charges, Margarita, BPH, season book price rise (?), staff cull, etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - All of the above with regards to Rangers are still spoken about Pads, maybe it is being reported because it is worthwhile reporting)

@4: does a couple of posts with a few replies constitute plenty of talk?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, Ed039, never meant to suggest it wasn't worth reporting and investigating. I've never met a politician of any persuasion who was not conflicted. It's not an attempt by me to deflect. I would imagine that a formal investigation will be opened in due course : without taking sides, the alleged miscreants will be found to have no questions to answer because that's the way things work. Just that the timing is suspect - why si on this information for years?

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 there are thousends of us why not ask me

Agree0 Disagree0

@7what thousands of corporate finance experts who run international finance companys.

Agree0 Disagree0

N8 you never said financial expert in your first post you said a season ticket rangers supporter

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 would be good to have someone from Glasgow City council to discuss/explain as well

Ally, Kenny and Ian to star in a new advert.
The back story is they are involved in football management with a large prestigious football club who have recently gone bust.
They watch a young talented full back play against them 4 times for an Amateur team (no fee involved) but ignore him in preference to a much older more expensive full back who did not have any other offers.
The cheap young talented full back (19 years old)who is wanted by a top six Premier League team in England is valued at £1.5million by his new club who only signed him in the summer.
The more expensive less talented much older player currently valued at less than £1. 5K by well everbody will probably not be transferred to the Premier League in this or any other transfer window.
You've guessed the strap line is "should have gone to specsavers"

Unbelievable? now that's what I thought to

After decades of being told that the best way to get a move to Rangers was to play well against us, now Ally's pals in the media are now telling us that Ally and co only look at Rangers players during a game and not the opposition. Very strange.

You must all agree if the report in todays papers are true "Rangers budget talks could see biggest earners leave

Rangers’ biggest earners could be shown the exit door in the aftermath of budget talks between manager Ally McCoist and chief executive Graham Wallace. The two are currently engaged in discussions to map out Rangers’ finances, which are widely expected to be cut following strong indications from Wallace that the club needs to cut its cloth.

Lee Wallace and David Templeton are named by a newspaper as two players who are most likely to be asked to leave should Rangers need to reduce their costs. Wallace has been one of Rangers’ most widely acclaimed performers, and has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest. Templeton, who has been told he is part of McCoist’s long-term plans despite a lack of recent first-team action, may also be shown the door because of his high wages.

Then a boycott must take place. We can not win promotion next season without players of this quality. If we sell both these players we will not be able to re-sign the quallity of player they are. I don't care if Wallace is a high earner, he could have walked away he stood by the club and took a pay cut, the club owe him in my opinion he has and Jig are the most loyal players to a club that ever played the game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We shouldn't have had players on these wages anyway, ally knows he can only buy success, he knows he will be found out as a manager if cuts happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

So at last the management are taking our club's finances seriously, and the whingeing starts.

OP. you can choose if you like:

1. Keep expensive players we can't afford and go into administration

2. Cut our cloth, take a bit longer to get back to the top, but have a sustainable business model to do so

I know which one I prefer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I would also like to point out that Lee Wallace decision to stay at Rangers at the time was due to his Mrs not wanting to move to England with a young baby, I think with the upturn in the international squad and his difficulty in getting a game that a move down south might now be very appealing to Lee Wallace and best of luck to the lad if he does move on, which is very likely)

I have always thought when it comes to transfers that it was the managers job to identify players and the boards job to sort transfer fee (if needed) and wages so how can ally be accused of wasting money

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - The playing budget hasnt been the problem in Rangers finances, I am not saying it is what it should be, but it is the non footballing payments which have soaked up the majority of the IPO money, and that is an absolute fact)

We bears need to have a reality check. some fans on here acting like spoilt brats. wallace is right. get rid of players who should never been on the wages they are on. so what's the answer?. boycotts!get real. after liquidation I would have been more than happy to support the youth team. however as much as I love ally as a player/person he could never in a million years coach and nurture raw talent like say a terry butcher or Stuart McCall. this is the problem we face. could we sit there and watch a young inexperienced team maybe not win promotion while the team in green and grey win 10 in a row, champs leg etc. I know I could. could you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go anti Ally mob out again when we sign players Ally goes to the board with a list of players he wants they say either yes or no they are the one who know if we can afford them or not and all managers try to get the best they can if you look at where the IPO mone has gone the largest chunk went on none playing expenses I know we paid off footballing debts but where else did it go to???

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 I'll tell you were 3.5 million has went in 2 and a half years, ally, Kenny and durrants wage pockets. While any 3rd division club gets buttons these 3 Rob us dry.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all very well talking about cutting the wage bill and moving players on but bar Wallace and McLeod who is realistically going to buy anyone else? Templeton has hardly set the heather on fire and is on a good wage. Who is going to match his wages? Shiels has been blighted with injury and again who is going to pay his wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 spot on bigcol1872. I agree with every point you make.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 sorry but Ally has to shoulder his share of responsibility for the poor state of the clubs finances and the consequent cuts. He doesn't have the ability to develop players and bring them through but relies on experienced players to win the bottom 2 leagues in Scotland. It's not exactly hard to recruit the players he has been able to and win the bottom leagues. However a good manager would have been able to spot and develop youth players on a fraction of the cost. Sadly this is beyond Ally and his other 2 stooges. Not to mention the ridiculous wage they are all on
