if offer is 5 million i'd take it, better defender in flanagan to take his position, if i was tav i'd hope it was brighton would never go west brom, club in decline. you couldn't blame him going to brighton, club in epl, new stadium, and a lovely part of the country. while i'm at it windass 3 mill plus snap there hand off, possibly give us more money for a decent centre forward. london jock.

Agree supercoopereleven. His delivery off his right foot is worth 5 million alone, never mind the fact he's an athlete and scores goals. Yes defensively he gets caught out but there aren't many attacking full backs that don't. I'd say no less than 6 million with add ons.

Yes Brian 1987.I've been in debates with my rangers pals for a couple of years regarding tav's terrific attributes! Most modern day wingbacks are more geared to the attacking side of the game, which of course is a lot faster, with much lighter balls, than it used to be, of years gone by! The best wingbacks in world football today, are far better in the attacking sense, than the defensive side of the beautiful game. that's when you need good players to cover them, when they go forward. James tavernier's main strengths is obviously in the attacking sense,
where he can beat his man and deliver excellent balls into the opposition box! He's very good with the dead ball and can score goals! I truly hope we can keep tav!

Emerson Hyndman gone to Hibs on loan. I've got mixed feelings on that one, was ok (ish) when he was with us. Certianly will improve Hibs.
Could he have done a job for us this season since we don't really have anyone creative?

By the looks of things we are buying a striker or 2 anyway, so obviously we don't need to be selling players to make cash available or we wouldn't be looking at Hodzic and Koljic, not that I know much about either of them but my point is we are looking for strikers anyway whether Tav stays or goes, and I would expect more than 5 simply because that is pocket money to English clubs.

Don’t think Gerrard will let tav go for anything less than 10 million plus easily worth that in today’s market. Gerrards no fool expect a bidding war between a few teams from England before the deadline.

What’s the thoughts on VAR being used in the SPFL? It seemed to work well at the World Cup, the only negative would be the cost but surely it would be worth it. Just tired of seeing good games being ruined by referees incompetence.

Would be good if used like how tennis olayers get to challenge a decision. Maybe 2 challenges each half or something. Also change the timing of a game to the way rugby do it so that no extra time needs to be added on to suit.

Watched the hockey World Cup recently and their system is so good for video reviews. Refs mic’d up with one video referee assisting the ref’s decision. Each team gets one referral, if it’s correct they keep it and lose it if not. Much much better way of working it than the farcical system now.
{Ed039's Note - I do believe a referral system is a good way to go or a challenge system similar to tennis or cricket even, where the captain decides whether to challenge a decision)

Not saying that we would have got the three points but it just shows what poor refereeing has possibly cost us after the red card has been overturned.
If they're willing to overturn that, then they should also look at awarding retrospective cards to those who escape punishment at the time. And if they do that, then perhaps they should also look at awarding or deducting points retrospectively.
Never going to happen but it seems logical that if they can overturn or uphold a decision after the event, then surely that can be taken further?

No less than 5m for Tav, 2m for John 1m for Wes and i'd be relatively happy with that. If we then get into Europa League group stages with a minimum 5m in income our net spend just taking those income streams into account would be looking really positive. Makes me think that SG still has something special up his sleeve in the transfer market. I don't know how much I believe about the mysterious benefactor. I don't care if its true or not but if someone wants to back us financially and remain anonymous then just let them batter on.

Been waiting to see what happened with the Waghorn deal due to the figures being branded about.
There is no sell on clause in this deal. Rangers are not due a penny. Caixinha didn’t rate him at all and wanted him off the books so the original deal to take him to Ipswich was only £130k!

elvir koljic Scored 35 goals in 55 games in 2016 was his best season so far and this season he has got off to a flyer. And SG has brought in some great signings and imo our defence is best I have seen it for a long time! Anyway this player according to the transfer market is worth 425k. Could be a steal if we can get in him on the cheap still young and who better to learn from that a legend like SG.

If Tavs going I reckon it needs to be for 5 million plus with a sell on % as someone else said. He's got a tonne of potential and was probably in our top 5 players of last season in my opinion.
In the case that Tav leaves, Flanagan out right, Barisic into the left and the back 4 would be absolutely water tight.

4EverBlue92 unfortunately that would be the biggest issue, I'd think we'd bring in another dual sided defender to provide that cover instead of bringing in 2 players - doesn't stick to the 2 quality players per position but maybe opens the door for some of our under 21s to step in? Atleast for some exposure on the bench. To be honest though I don't see Tav going anywhere.
