Hate to get personal but I will. Daily Record page 67 picture of our esteemed manager.

What a sight overweight unshaved has he got no pride.

He is manager of RFC WHAT AN EXAMPLE TO SET.

Someone must tell him to get a grip on himself, what a joke?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok diamond, we get it, you hate Ally. Just make sure you go to the barbers, after your 3 hour gym workout, before going to the restaurant for your healthy low calorie meal and drinks.

Did u see him at Ibrox on Tuesday for hibs game clean shaven, suited & booted looked very smart . sad day when people have a POP after looking. at a picture .

Agree0 Disagree0

@OP, if you hate to get personal, then don't. Who cares what the manager looks like when most of us care what the quality of play on the pitch looks like?

Agree0 Disagree0

@3

That's the problem with the manager there is no quality on the pitch though

re the Celtic fiasco - can anyone explain to me how this guy was ineligible? As far as I can see in the press he was banned for 3 matches for a sending off. They played 2 legs BEFORE meeting Celtic, and he missed the first leg against them. That would add up to 3 missed matches or am I thick?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Its an administrative error at Legia's end, to serve a suspension you must be registered in the squad, for the 1st 2 matches he wasnt registered by Legia, probably because he was suspended. Here is an example, if a player is sent off on the last day of the season he is to serve a suspension next season, now if he was a free agent and didnt have a club until September and the league had already played several games, the player would serve his suspension once registered and not automatically be available as he had missed the opening games of the season, hope that makes sense)

Understandable ed, but it seems a strange rule. Why would you name someone in the squad who is banned? Surely a waste of a player. Rules and regulations. Get back to keeping things simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 20:06:39
It's deliberately 'a waste of a player', AB. If they don't name him in the squad then they suffer no ill effect from his ban. For his suspension period they have to be a man down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed for explanation - still as clear as mud, and possibly confusing even for the participants!! maybe, just maybe it was a genuine misinterpretation, hope Legia have strong lawyers because at 6-1 up, they have been robbed of earnings, not Celtic.
Anyways, I am an OAP who lives in the past, which at times is a happier place than this banter site which gets a bit nonsensical at times. Thanks again for explanation. Cheers, Wee Bill

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Cheers Bill, hope it made even a little sense because it was even hard to bloody type)

I openly admit that I'm bitter and bias because it is Celtic who have sneaked back into the Champions League. It is pathetic though. The ineligible player was on the pitch for less than five minutes and the game was well won at 6-1 on aggregate. The precedent for Debrecen last year or the year before when they were fined instead seems to have been ignored. Only hope Mirabor muller the Tims or if they sneak into the CL group stages, they get whacked 6-0 in every tie!

Agree0 Disagree0

Doiger - in the interest of the famous sporting integrity, maybe Celtic will back Legia's appeal

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow doiger, maybe you should take off you bitter twisted glasses mate as you obviously can't read what Ed was good enough to post and explain to the hard of learning or understanding, YOU!
They are 2 totally different scenarios mate if you care to think like a normal person not some bitter and twisted wee child you may, just may be able to understand it!
It will be interesting to see if celtic avoid another shalacking like they received from Legia lol but as we all know, football sometimes isn't a fair game is it!

Agree0 Disagree0

The totally corrupt uefa did this because of the potential for large crowds at sellik games,

think the entire world knows this would never have happened to Barca, real, man utd, et al
make me wonder if football is worth watching anymore
tommy

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 they can't refuse to play or they will be punished by EUFA. Celtic were well beaten and know it. They did not lodge a complaint, the error was picked up by a EUFA official and reported. EUFA applied the correct punishment under the rules by awarding the game 3-0 t Celtic, effectively putting them through on the away goal rule. The two missed penalties, the last 5 minute substitution and the away goal have turned out to be expensive mistakes by Legia.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2014 10:55:52
I think the thing is barca, Madrid etc wouldn't have made an unprofessional mistake, is everyone saying now celtic are way above sfa now and high up in Europe, get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

Tommy45 you are so right! Matelot. My post started but admitting I was bitter because it was Celtic so what's your beef? UEFA make and impose the rules, not the Ed! The Debrecen case I cited was when they were find £15,000 as the offending player had only played a few minutes and didn't come close to affecting the result of the tie.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2014 11:10:46
@7. It happened with Arsenal a couple of years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

AT 7. The "totally corrupt UEFA" did this as they applied their rule book. The list of players still serving a suspension is available to all UEFA member clubs, Rules is Rules, Just like Death and Taxes are part of life as Mark Twain would say. Ooops.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2014 15:59:18
@10. But the Debrecen player wasn't serving a ban. He was ineligible. They two cases are seperate and are treated seperately in the rules. Playing a 'banned' player results in match forfeit. There is NO room for maneouvre. Playing an ineligible player MAY result in a match forfeit. Different rule.

Agree0 Disagree0

Weeman - you missed my point, I never said they should refuse to play, I said that in the interest of sporting integrity they should support Legia's appeal to uefa

I was trying to figure out why Ally signed another two center backs but now I see he may have had a rush of tactics to the brain and came up with a 3-5-2 formation

Looks obvious that he has set this around McGregor on the right side, Jig or Zaliukas in the center of the three and Moshni on the left,

I think he should persevere with it for a while but not on Sunday, let's try it out against some of the weaker teams in the league, resort to a flat back four against hearts and get Templeton on from the start to link up with wallace

Saying that though we still have big problems in center of midfield and something different has to be tried, unfortunately we know that's only going to happen when black gets suspended or injured and he has no option but to make changes

JG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The formation only works with quality wing backs and good midfielders sadly Foster is awful and Black and Law just don't work in midfield. Hibs controlled the game and it was only when they lost a man and Templeton was introduced that things changed. The manager is tactically inept and the sooner he goes the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 18:41:50
Wallace would work on the left of a 3-5-2 but we have no one to play on the right. The 3-5-2 with Wallace on the left doesn't leave room for templeton either and I'd have the wee man on from the start. I'd just go 4-4-2 bell, foster(only because there's no one else), mcgregor, zaluikas, wallace, Aird, law, macloed, templeton, Boyd, miller. I think out team should b built around Macleod. He's a star in the making

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewie - don't know what game you watched mate but hibs were never in the game in the first half,

yes they had a good 25 minute spell in the second until Templeton was brought on and they had a man sent off

like it or lump it Ally is going nowhere anytime soon so we have to get on with it and hope the players can get themselves motivated, they are professionals after all

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

@3

How were never in the game the first half? It wasn't as if they were hanging on and Rangers were creating chance after chance. Also don't know if you noticed how many sitters they missed and the fact they created better chances than us. Tuesdays performance was dire and once again showed the manager up. Really like your phrase. "HOPE the players get motivated" that just about sums up Ally's managerial skills.

Ok then. Who will be the first to say Peter Lawell pulled strings to get Celtic back in to the Champions League?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Aug 2014 11:13:38
I thought it was meant to be Celtic fans who were paranoid?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 12:42:03
Don't Legia have the right of an appeal?

Would be ironic if some Celtic fans began booking flights for the away leg only for Legia to be reinstated.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Legia will be put back in. They fielded a suspended player and the rules are quite simple. That said, it's very unfair under the circumstances. Player did not play in 3 games, they hammered?Celtic in both games and the man had to influence in the final four minutes of the second leg. EUFA are applying the law to the letter. I suppose with the money at stake they have no option.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 13:06:19
They have five days to reply I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

If uefa were consistent with their decisions it would fine for them to accept being kicked out but for a team to commit the same act a few years prior, with a less convincing victory, and only be fines, then that's why the poles have a right to be upset.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 09:55:52
been told celtic back in!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Aug 2014 10:48:39
best of luck to them but who cares! They will look back with great pride on there 3-0 victory. Davie and Malky must be raging that Ronny is the muts nuts again now?

Rules are rules

One good thing about the decision - it gives bears a chance to make even more easy money!

Agree0 Disagree0

no shame no class & not a hint of embarrassment either

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 11:19:36
Yeah right bio72. So if 'Ranjurs' were in the same position they would decline the reinstatement? No. Thought not. You seem to blame Celtic for this when it was actually UEFA who brought it about. And talking about shame, class and embarassment? Take a look inwards before broadcasting your mouth outwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see what Suarez, Messi and Neymar would do to this lot

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly the rule is quite clear and under that, Legia fielded a suspended player. I would suspect that the club secretary did not do his job and check out what the requirements for to get a player serving his suspension. That said, have EUFA actually made any effort to explain the rules? There have been presidents so you would expect clubs to know the rules. Can't see them progressing much with the bunch they have anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 12:37:57
#5/ JJ76 I don't think I blamed Celtic! But, the point I was making is that they were an embarrassment to themselves and Scottish Football after previous comments leading up to this tie. Delia - we are too good to be in qualifiers - Collins - we want an Irish team in next round when they hadn't even played the 2nd game of 1st round - Broon - we will pay Legia back for celebrating beating us in the first game. being booed off at half time by a half empty stadium - 'fans' being held back by security from the directors comfy seats.
For those Rangers fans (which clearly you are not), who come on here, we are well aware of our shortcomings and I am sure there are more worries to come.
But if that what floats your boat JJ, keep hiding behind it. Just occasionally take the lime green tinted specs of and have a look closer to home.
enjoy the next round, I think I might now.

I'd love to see what Suarez messi and neymar would do to your lot might be waiting a while though let's be honest after Kaunas Maribor and the likes would yous not take it rules are there to abide by not our fault wee done everything by the book (as usuall)

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 15:18:36
Bill an embarrassment to scottish football? What about what the old co has dragged us through the last few years c'mon mate

Agree0 Disagree0

As most have pointed out rules are rules but shouldn't the punishment be the same for everyone on ssn they mentioned a club who weren't excluded only fined for a similar offence hopefully legias appeal is successful.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 17:29:39

Is anybody surprised by this? They're determined to eventually win this case and win it at the highest level in order to set a precedent.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder what steps are in place to out the mole who leaked the story in the first place. I believe the tabloids know.

Agree0 Disagree0

And so they should

Agree0 Disagree0

I tend to think the original post is correct. This is not about Rangers, this about the clubs in the EPL. Rangers are just being used to set the president.

Agree0 Disagree0

And I hate autocorrect. It should br precident.
