looking at all the debate over McCoists salary, never mind all the pro's and con's, if you want facts about his wealth all you have to do is google it and you will see how much he is worth, so he could easily have resigned with dignity and stopped picking up the money when it was obvious the club needed it more than he did, I know i can hear some say he was entitled to it in his contract, correct, but if he loved the club that much, he could easily, very easily, have done without.

08 Apr 2016 23:00:05
Wee bill i posted much the same thing yesterday mate.

08 Apr 2016 23:31:47
Clearly not up to the job and he should have done what Keegan did and just admit the job was too big for him and resigned. Even wee chesney admitted he wasn't up to the Middlesbrough job and left not wanting any money.

09 Apr 2016 07:32:57
When We went unto admin etc Alastair McCoist Was Rangers. Has to get a team, work with all they bams and there were plenty. Represent Rangers on and off field and always with dignity and pride. The guy stood up for us and never walked away when the whole situation was clearly waring him down. Like the rest of us he is Rangers till he dies and that shouldn't be forgotten. Welcome home anytime Ally. Top bloke and a nice guy.

09 Apr 2016 08:15:45
If mccoist handed his shares over to the fans then that would be a start. The problem I have with him is money related and his greed. I can forgive the fact that he was an atrocious manager. He only agreed to a paycut because someone inside the club leaked his contract and also when the new board came in he still took his 60 grand a month for around 6 month's when the club couldn't afford to. At least le geun left without a penny and he had no connection to the club what so ever.

09 Apr 2016 10:43:43
Hooly, if Ally had given up anything the money wouldn't have went to the club it would just have followed the rest of the money into a bams pocket. I wouldn't have given any my wages to they guys, sorry I have done, I bought shares, season tickets, donated to fighting fund etc like the rest of us. Let it go, Ally is a legend.

09 Apr 2016 11:41:27
Dunbar Blue, so are you suggesting that Ally took the money knowing that it would find its way into the pockets of people you call 'bams'?

In which case why was he so keen to help persuade fans buying shares during Charles Green's share issue?

You can't have it both ways.

09 Apr 2016 11:46:03
Hooly he only made a settlement on his pay off in order to start his new job as a pundit on the bt sports channel.

09 Apr 2016 13:30:17
So your saying the new board are bams to Dunbar? Because he took 6 month's wages of them as well.

09 Apr 2016 19:08:31
Certainly not saying that, I'm saying the bams that were chased out. And as for supporting Green and co that was trying to help us survive, I gave the clowns £700 of my good money, to help the club, no for them building castles. Anyway I am still a fan of Ally, it is my opinion that he tried his best as always, had to put up with unbelievable nonscense and I hope he can feel comfortable to come and support his team if he wants. Others have a difference of opinion which is also fair enough. That's what a forum is for. Have a good day tomorrow everyone.

08 Apr 2016 21:00:53
fellow bears what do yous think about our chances against celtic in the cup!

08 Apr 2016 21:13:36
If they play as well as they did against Dundee last weekend and we play as well as we can, then it could be a brilliant result.

But I would be happy with a 2-1 win.

I imagine S. Brown is kicking a tree to prepare for it.

08 Apr 2016 22:07:32
And if celtic play like they did when they gubbed Hamilton and rangers play like they did against Falkirk in the last 20 mins a few weeks ago it could be bad news for your lot ifs buts and maybes?

08 Apr 2016 22:19:12
Welcome to a Rangers rumours and banter site bigp.

Mostly ifs and buts on here Pal.

08 Apr 2016 23:03:50
Bigp then again we could maybe put in up the performance we did against dundee, a team your lot have failed to beat in your lsst two feeble atempts, the same dundee that we trounced, they hardly got a kick of the ball against us,

09 Apr 2016 02:40:26
Love it big John I've never been boastful about the gers but let's get it right, they've played Dundee twice the last month or so and struggled against their reserve team, and we gubbed their best who WERE up for it in the cup. I'm sick of people trying to play us down this squad is the real deal whose answered everything that's been thrown at them. I say bring in the celts and show them what they are in for next year.

09 Apr 2016 08:56:27
SeaofIbrox

They aren't playing team down they are just being realistic. How can you say team is the real deal? We have just won the championship not the premiership. Let's see how we fare in the top league before calling the team the real deal. The semi final will be a marker as to where we are at the moment but that's all. To me Celtic are clear favourites for the tie however i think we can win with a bit of luck.

09 Apr 2016 11:35:59
Never mind people not rating Rangers, I think Celtic are getting far too much credit that they don't merit.
It's the worst team they've had since the 90's. If people aren't confident of beating this mob there is no hope for them.
They've been trounced endlessly in Europe, stuttered their way to the title against the might of Aberdeen. People go on about their experience but what I see is players past it like Broon, Mulgrew, Commons etc. Nothing they have scares me. Griffiths isn't even scoring right now.
I can see nothing but a win for us at Hampden. As for next year I'm sure MW knows what he needs and I'm sure the board will back him. Do I think Diella knows the same? Short answer is no!

09 Apr 2016 12:09:53
Recbob
Great post and I agree 100%. We are not being deluded here. This might not be the best Rangers team in history but as you say Celtic are pants just now and are only winning the title due to the lack of any credible challenge. Our team has flaws of course, but we are younger, fitter and mostly quicker than them. Our achilles heel is the defence being exposed due to our style of play. But then if thumbheid is going off the boil it surely means we have a chance. Even if we lose I think we might surprise them with the quality we undoubtedly have. The future is bright and with 4 or 5 additions over the summer we will be in great shape to mount a challenge imo.

09 Apr 2016 14:08:29
When you think of the chances we've created and missed this year as well Seeker I'd like to think if we add an out and out striker to the mix we won't need a defence because we will score for fun. But I agree the defence needs tweaked.
We are 3 starters away from having an excellent team and 3 squad players. We need a CDM, CB AND Striker of genuine quality and experience. Then Crooks, Windass and a Full Back as cover that can play on both sides. Add that to Hardie, Thompson and Murdoch and we have the squad I'm sure can challenge. We need anything else there's always January. Maybe a GK as well but I'm being greedy.

08 Apr 2016 20:06:00
Would love us to win on Sunday, as "fingers crossed" it will hopefully be our last ever stab at the Petrofac cup!

08 Apr 2016 19:34:18
Just watched Warbs latest press conference He DOES talk a lot of sense, I just love listening to him, always honest, never boastful, and answers every question with common sense, hope he sticks around for seasons to come!

08 Apr 2016 19:11:10
hy fellow bears and bearettes wee question which rangers player has scored 3 hat tricks agains sceptic.

08 Apr 2016 19:27:50
Alistair Murdoch McCoist?

08 Apr 2016 20:03:37
don't think anyone has?

08 Apr 2016 21:04:20
League cup final when he missed then scored a penalty in extra time - Big Jock was manager. 3-2.

Glasgow cup final at Ibrox on a Friday night. 3-2.

Premier league at Ibrox - 2 penalties? 3-0.

08 Apr 2016 23:33:06
1983 League Cup Final 3-2.

09 Apr 2016 08:59:11
Bruisedbear

Are you sure your right about the 3 in the league? I don't remember him ever scoring a hat trick in a league game against Celtic.

09 Apr 2016 09:53:23
Biffo. No I'm wrong and remembered this morning. I think Johnson got 2. I think I got too excited last night.

09 Apr 2016 11:05:40
That was the one when Walters scored the famous pen, Johnston and McCoist got the others.

08 Apr 2016 18:54:12
Absolutely disgusting the stick carl frampton took for posting well done to rangers on there promotion. I'm not even sure he supports the gers I know he supports crusaders. All he said is that it was good that that the old firm matches were back. And he got abuse.

08 Apr 2016 23:35:00
It's a sad state of affairs when he gets abused like that for an innocent and correct comment. All some people seem to have in their lives is hatred. What a sad way to live your life.

09 Apr 2016 14:01:17
Bet not many comments were made to his face!

08 Apr 2016 18:44:44
hi fellow bears, 1 game at a time lads/ girls, looking forward to sunday, can't wait, hopefully we'll be the happier once the games over. not so much a question for my fellow bears here, but feel free to comment, or use it as a question being asked, a guy in my work asked me this morning, which game would I like to win if there was a choice to be made between this sunday and next sunday, I said this sunday defo, he looked shocked at my answer, its simple, this sundays a cup final, a competition all rangers fans would agree that we would love to win before we go upto the SPL, next sundays semi final is just a bonus for us, and no matter the resulting outcome, it will not stop us in our plans on what we're trying to achieve as a football club, next sundays just an added bonus, so let's enjoy the week coming up lads, and look forward to next season.

08 Apr 2016 19:01:25
total agreement colin. but jeez I would love to beat the dark side----------------.

08 Apr 2016 18:53:33
Colin: I agree.

08 Apr 2016 18:22:05
No Mr McInally, our eyes will be on only one team this weekend - Peterhead.
You only have to watch Lee Wallace's interview to see that.

08 Apr 2016 15:13:45
it was interesting to note all the great footballing nations sport papers in france germany spain england brazil all talking about the old firm games for next season. let's see what the tv moneys like seems to be plenty of interest. and we are supposed to dead.

08 Apr 2016 14:43:54
the game against the tic will show us where we need to add .

08 Apr 2016 15:28:33
I think Wallace and Tav's will need to be more reserved in the game, can't go gung hoe the way they do most match's.

As much is made of our defence needing strengthened, I think the real issue is the midfield being light weight and our full backs constantly attacking.

We need more of a physical presence in there to better protect the back line, and to be able to fill the gaps made when the full backs push on. I have a feeling Matt Crooks looks a player that can do this going off what little I've seen of him. If we could get one more physical midfielder who can put himself about I think our defence would be much better. Until then, I'm a bit worried that Celtic are just too powerful in the middle of the park for us at the moment with the likes of Rogic, Bitton and Brown.

That being said, I still think we can beat them next weekend, its over the course of a season we need that extra bit of power for.

08 Apr 2016 15:35:32
i think a one of game is one thing but the whole season another. like I've said on previous post in a one of game against any scottish premiership side we can win. but the pressures on them bigger squad with a few internationals playing at higher level should really beat us. but i think at the end of the game we will know what fighting spirit in this squad of players.

08 Apr 2016 18:06:19
Bigbobby although i want us to beat them in the semi final i won't be too annoyed if celtic win, i am just looking forwatd to seeing who mw brings in this summer, and seeing us compete next season for the number 55,if it takes 2 seasons i would be happy enough.

08 Apr 2016 18:13:06
Bitton turns like a bus and needs 10 touches before he can control the ball, browns hopeless with the ball if our midfielders play there game they will be chasing shadows.

08 Apr 2016 20:37:02
2bigjon85 I agree if we won the premiership in 2017/ 2018 I would be delighted.

08 Apr 2016 17:35:25
Would loved to play them with Waggy up top. The bigger Hampden pitch will suit our style of football. If a draw is it a replay or penalties?

08 Apr 2016 13:54:36
re Ally McCoist, s suggested invite to Alloa game I for one am all for it . Some fans forget what he did for us in trying circumstances, an inexperiencd manager as he was he held us together while the charlatans milked the club dry.
I know some will say he was well paid for it 825K per annum plus a decent budget for players I was one fan who was disillusioned when he continued to take money from the club, but I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, and wait till court situations are resolved, and get Ally's side to the story. The man is a legend and deserves a pitch walkout. I hope it comes to pass.

08 Apr 2016 14:42:22
blue bear I agree with your post mate we have no idea what was going on the back ground when ally was in charge. but i'm pretty sure when this court case is over we will know then.

08 Apr 2016 14:59:59
Exactly double b. Surely common sense will prevail on this one. won't it?

08 Apr 2016 16:02:21
I don't think he will be invited, but it would be great if he was although my biggest fear would be that he might get booed by a large section of the crowd because going by this forum there is a large amount of fans that don't like ally anymore.

08 Apr 2016 16:29:50
It's not that fans hate him - many are very dissapointed in him like me. He was my hero growing up but the way he has behaved over the money casts a dark shadow over him.

I would love nothing more than him to either apologize or give his shares to fans group as a gesture - that would make a huge difference in my eyes- and for him to be able to come back to the club as a hero, not as an extremely decisive figure.

I respect the fans views that still worship him as he was one of the most popular players in our history. I don't think it's fair to dislike him due to his on pitch failures as a manager, he was never up to the job and I'm quite sure he did his best. He certainly aged like he did. All his managerial mistakes, and there were plenty, were honest mistakes through lack of ability and experience.

What I can't look past is his over inflated salary, collecting shares and taking 800k for gardening leave when the club was close to a second administration. He knew fine well what was happening behind scenes and never spoke out. That's the problem.

I would hate to see him get booed, so until he can answer the questions and speak honestly about things- without trying to make more money via a book deal or newspaper deal- he should stay away.

08 Apr 2016 17:39:23
If Ally wanted the best for Rangers he would have resigned once it was clear he was not remotely Rangers manager material.

Paul Le Guen showed a lot more class in that respect.

Congratulations to the PR campaign on Ally's behalf btw but I'll never change my mind on my man.

08 Apr 2016 18:13:46
Paul le guen was told to f off.

08 Apr 2016 18:41:43
Hi guys to say that I hate ally would be wrong what he did for rangers on the field will be really hard to beat by any one but what he did as manager was not right but I don't know and no one else knows what was going on behind closed door we can all read the paper and watch TV but the real truth will never be known
He will always be one of my greatest heroes for all the goals and joys he brought to Rangers and all the goals agenst the unwashed.

08 Apr 2016 19:07:18
Paul le guen knew he'd struck it lucky at Lyon - that's why he rejected offers in the big leagues to come to us in the first place. His record after leaving us backs that up.

I was delighted when we got him as it seemed like a massive coup. Before long it all went wrong and the Please Leave Govan campaign started.

One good signing he made was sasa papac- I thought he was a fantastic player. Such a shame injuries ment he had to retire when he should of had a few more season in him. Less said about sebo and sionko the better.

08 Apr 2016 12:56:42
Just wanted to see what the feeling in the camp was regarding how far away we are from the Scottish Premiership teams? didn't turn up against St Johnstone and deserved to get beat further down the line one of our best games in my opinion under Warburton we beat Dundee comfortably.

Im not sure if we will beat them but unlike last year we will attack them I think it will be interesting to see where we are.

08 Apr 2016 13:47:51
You'll find fans are split- one side think that the current side is good enough to challenge straight away.

The other side (like me) think we are a bit further away and need some quality reinforcements and some time.

It's really just personal opinion as the truth will be shown next season.

Either way it won't be too long before the title is back where it belongs.

08 Apr 2016 14:33:16
Seen a few of your post before and I agree with a lot of what you say your points are realistic. I just don't see a massive gulf in class (I think we will at least get second place) not accptable for Glasgow Rangers I know but that's what I honestly think. I watch us against Falkirk this year and think they could hold there own I the premiership. I think the English League one is a better league that the Scottish Premiership with the exption of them and I don't think they are that great either. I think the old firm will be really interesting and I always like going into them as underdogs.

08 Apr 2016 14:35:18
I think we could be doing with one or two guys of experience AND quality like Morrison, I think he would be ideal as I feel we need that kind of player to push us on in our first season, I am not sure trying to get young hungry gems is going to work in this league.

08 Apr 2016 14:47:34
You definatly need some experianced players. I don't think Morrison would take the drop in salary and i'm sure he will have other options coming his way. We have Windass and Crooks coming in as well. I think everyone would like a fast centre half and a striker. i'm a fan of Waggy I think you need to give him compatition Kenny Miller has done well but I don't see him getting another year as a play after next season.

08 Apr 2016 14:53:49
Luigi i can see both sides of the argument. when we have played premier sides this season apart from the st johnson game which if you look at the stats weren't that bad. the other games we have looked more switched on. but personally I think we need to strengthen if we are looking for top three place. do I think in a one off game we can beat anyone in the premier which is different to whole season.

08 Apr 2016 15:03:59
I agree we do need to strengthen but to what extent? We hear our manager talking about tight squad and team harmony. Clark and Law will leave I think maybe Sheils Bell as well. Replace them guys going out then are we far away for compeating in that league?

08 Apr 2016 16:33:52
Luigi I've yet to see a fan with thwir head so far up their backsode who thinks were close to challenging just now. Aside from Crooks and Windass we are still 4 or 5 players of quality short of challenging them. However in Warbs we trust sure he has his eye on a few gems.

08 Apr 2016 17:51:56
Ger 88: Yes, we are a fair bit short.

08 Apr 2016 15:56:26
Windass and Crooks are higher standard players than half current squad I think Windass in particular will end up heading to BPL in a couple of years him and Waggy will be our league winning attack next season they will score 50+ between them possibly 60+ he is that good.

Looking at every player Warbs has signed esp Holt and Forrester he can really spot a rough diamond so I trust him 100% to spend sensibly £1m-£3m max mostly on wage deals

We will win the league next year IF Delia stays.

08 Apr 2016 12:36:55
just got my semi-final ticket today but never been to Hampden before - anyone have an opinion on the front row behind the goal? what's the view like?

08 Apr 2016 13:18:01
you feel like you are far away from the pitch because of the daft running track behind the goals. Mind you If the gers score on the goal your sitting behind it won't be to bad aha!

08 Apr 2016 13:38:22
The view in the first few rows is very poor- too far away due to running track and angle isn't great, but to be honest I think with the exception of the main stand out its a terrible stadium no matter where you sit.

08 Apr 2016 15:32:48
well, sounds like I may have drawn a short straw but still will be amazing to be there.

08 Apr 2016 16:09:03
Hampdem is crap, after the commonwealth games it should have been kept as a running track, when they rebuilt Hamden they killed it for atmosphere, I know it's changed days from the old hampden but they have ruined it, plus the pitch is a joke buts that's a whole new story.

08 Apr 2016 10:55:58
Matt crooks tweeted saying how annoying YNWA is. Think we're going to like this lad haha.

08 Apr 2016 12:41:27
Well his name is Crooks, so there is an immediate affinity there.

08 Apr 2016 13:18:50
That meant to mean something.

08 Apr 2016 13:39:30
YNWA? I assume it means "you'll never walk alone", which in turn means he's attempting to ingratiate himself to his new fans, such is the connection with YNWA and Celtic.

08 Apr 2016 13:40:48
You should be at the fringe festival this year with material like that.

Have you nothing better than that?

Personally I wouldn't waste a second of my life going on boards of teams I don't like with the aim of being a smart arse wind up merchant. In fact I'm wasting time typing this. The irony.

08 Apr 2016 14:35:58
No I mean your Crooks comment.

08 Apr 2016 14:53:14
TPP, Dermot Desmond. Panama leak. Enough said?

08 Apr 2016 15:07:40
To be honest, he is young and English, most likely hasn't payed any attention to Scottish football until signing for us. He was commenting on a Liverpool game. For these reasons, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even realise that song is associated with Celtic. This might just be all taken out of context. Either way, still funny to hear him take a swipe at Celtic already, intentional or not.

08 Apr 2016 15:53:21
onlyshowaround-

Surely you aren't playing the go-to-card of 'whatabouterry'?

08 Apr 2016 15:18:40
Just because RFC have been there own downfall there's no need trying to clutch at straws. After HMRC deal with RFC it will open up the floodgates. It's a good job the Bunnet smelt a rat with the EBT route and paid all the bills.

08 Apr 2016 10:47:43
Liverpool are reportedly looking to offload Daniel Trickett-Smith. A young midfielder they beat Man City to sign from Crewe and for whatever reason his career has stalled at Liverpool.

This is exactly they type of boy MW loves. A young lad who's a bit of a gamble but has got a lot to prove. Surely worthwhile taking him on trial and having a look?

Thoughts?

08 Apr 2016 15:02:14
yeah heard all the talk about this lad at the time if warburtons interested he will come on trail if any good short time contract.

08 Apr 2016 04:40:01
Any word on the once promising youngster Lewis MacLeod coming back? I know he's been held back by injury etc down south.

Additional information to add Warbs bought him from us last year in the January transfer window.

08 Apr 2016 10:18:49
Heard he picked up another bad injury. Will be out for months.

08 Apr 2016 10:22:43
The lad is out injured again.

08 Apr 2016 10:58:13
Fabio i think with the ammount of times he has been out through injury would put mw off bringing him back up the road unless it was at very very low cost, good player yes but maybe injury prone.
