what does everyone think of the possibility of playing against motherwell? do you think McCall would crumble if motherwell were the team we play against? or do you think he'd manage to put motherwell behind him and get us through it? personally after his comments I think he's admit it would hurt to play against motherwell however he'd get the job done as a rangers man.

if we keep playing like we are doing at the moment, I don't fear anybody in the play offs and either will mcall, at this moment in time he's the rangers manager, and that's where his thoughts and feelings should be and end!!

I really don't think McCall will be distracted about Motherwells plight

Strange things always happen in football, like the guy you just sold coming back and scoring the winning goal against you.
Bound to happen, McCall will take Rangers to Motherwell!

if he is still in love with motherwell, why did he walk out on them.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2015 12:39:42
He's a gers man through and through. That says it all

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2015 13:39:48
he didn't really walk out on them Ted. He left as he didn't enjoy the way the Chairman was running the club.

Roll on next season I honestly can't wait to see the look on all there smug faces when we return to the top, play-offs or not we have went through the leagues just like we said back up. McCall will no doubt have a plan in place to get us in top 4 and yeah we might not have the big money signings but let's not forget it's scottish football not the English Premiership.

08 Apr 2015 16:20:35
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Firstly, 2nd place should be our target. There is no point in being arrogant, then falling on our faces. One game at a time. Long may the current run continue, but take nothing for granted. Also, Motherwell and Ross County are having fine runs at the moment, were we to meet either, they would be far from straight forward.

I posted on hear yesterday about sending a list of players through to rangers and seem to be getting a lot of negativity for it anyone care to explain why I'm a very honest person and I'm not going to lie about something as daft as that and once I hear back/if I hear back I will forward the list onto hear for those who seem to doubt me. I've been trying and trying for nearly a year now and thought I would let fellow bears know that I've finally had a breakthrough which I thought was good news. Especially with the calibre of players I've sent and the direction I've took which could bring potential investment with it. One thing I am not is a liar but I seem to be getting classed as one, so again would someone please explain the negativity?

BB I was wondering too why so many negative responses. I could not pick out a player who has potential so again good on you mate.

08 Apr 2015 13:27:31
if it helps rangers, even if its just one player, then good luck to you mate, after everything that we have been through, we should be open to every avenue!!

08 Apr 2015 13:34:29
BB) GOOD on ya mate with our current financial situation and no recognised scouting system to talk of I would imagine any help in that direction would be truly welcome good luck with it and let us know of any feed back from Ibrox mate

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 13:53:25
See the oldest player I've mentioned in the list is 24 and that's from a list of 24 I can't see them costing to much or even getting some as loans. As I said but I cannot understand the negativity I was getting do people think I'm lying? Everyone wants to help our club and I apologize if my way of helping is not good enough for some people. To the people who support what I'm trying to do thanks it's means a lot

08 Apr 2015 14:46:24
I honestly thought you were at the noise up mate, with this being a banter page.I applaud your efforts mate but there's harsh realities here to be faced, how many letters/ emails do you think a club the size of Rangers receive from would be star spotters on a daily basis? As I say, carry on mate if it makes you happy.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 15:07:32
No no deadly serious lol and yeah I know that's why I persisted rather than give up on day one and if it comes to it I will go-to murray park myself and personally hand it to McCall. There's only one way to be heard in life and that's persistence. But here's hoping I will put the list up sooner or later

I would love to do the same but you are right, persistence pays off!

Bankiebear ----I am sure you will have noticed during the past three years or so the number of times our club has been infested by individuals who have stepped in with the most plausible attitudes and promises then gradually took over one of the worlds most iconic football teams.
Whyte, Green, Ashley, et al, the list is endless, so don't be annoyed with us when you come out with a "list" of players which you can bring into our club and some of us ridicule you.
You may be a genuine guy with the best interests of Rangers at heart (and I hope you are) but until the goods are delivered I'm afraid, as far as I am concerned it is wait and see.
I wish you luck.

Seriously Bankie Mourinho

Rangers are despite their current state of playing in the Championship, one of the biggest names in world football, history and fanbase wise.

To think they would even glance for 2 seconds at a letter with "armchair expert" selection of some players, before it is tossed in the bin with the hundreds and thousands of letters and emails Rangers receive is totally deluded. Seriously there is more chance of Santa reading my daughters letter she sticks out every Xmas pmsl. If they are any good they will be spotted by the countless Ex Rangers involved in the game and the coaches involved at MP and Ibrox. Do you think these Rangers employees just turn up 9-5pm and then switch off? They can get serious rewards financially and job satisfaction wise finding the "next great thing" so they are ALL looking accross the leagues in UK and Europe at talent that might be out there, the internet provides cover of a huge amount of football on every league level. These staff and scouting people have the ear of the club not some random dreamer lolol

Nice idea but please forgive us for having a laugh at your expense mate and don't hold your breath for that call you are waiting on from Walter Smith or Dave King extolling your letter as the being saviour of Rangers future, everyone of these amazing selections is a future Rangers Legend we are signing them all next week lolol.

3rd and 4th play against each other over 2 legs. home and away. then whoever wins plays against 2nd. again 2 legs home and away. whoever wins from that plays against the team who finishes 11th in the SPFL, Again home and away 2 legs. FINALLY! the winner of that either A) get's promotion. B) saves themselves and stay up in the SPFL.

Rangers should take a look at Aaron mooy he played at st mirren couple of seasons ago but playing at Melbourne now decent player with great engine could get cheap and plays a bit like wee McCall box to box and gets battered in

Derek Johnstone is against Templeton's coaching slight against mccoist. Why? Does the truth hurt? He only stated what any of our supporters were witness to. DJ, time to drop the old pal's act on this one as any credibility you have will disappear.

Derek Johnstone who only a matter of months ago was slagging off the SFA for ruling that Ashley could own no more than ten per cent of Rangers and was saying that they were scared of Ashley pumping in millions to the club and taking us to the next level.

Playing legend but comes out with the most ridiculous mince at times.

Hes a pundit who gave his opinion jeeso youd think he robbed yer hoose the way you people are acting. David Templeton had no right to say what he said.
I don't see anybody slating McCall when he said the excact same thing as johnstone.

The Scottish Professional Football League will net a £1m-plus windfall from Rangers as a result of a clause in their regulations over gate money should the Ibrox side qualify for the promotion play-offs, with the governing body entitled to 50% of all ticket revenue.

I'm slightly annoyed by this. Opinions?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

08 Apr 2015 09:29:40
Were you annoyed when it was in place last season for Hamilton and Hibs etc? And come the beginning of this season did you think it wouldn't affect Rangers anyway and therefore didn't give a crap?

08 Apr 2015 10:05:03
Did someone rattle your cage gaz? I was looking for opinions, not for someone to be a donkey(other word for it)

and yes I was annoyed by it. but again I was looking for opinions. learn to read.

08 Apr 2015 10:18:23
Poster, I'm afraid I agree with Gaz 1, on this one. If the rule is in place exceptions should not be made. All we can ask of the governing body is consistency, and that is something they have been short on in the past.

Agree4 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 10:38:20
Okay my opinion is you should have been annoyed last season therefore. My assumption was it didn't affect Rangers then therefore you didn't give a damn and this year arrogantly thought it wouldn't affect Rangers at all perhaps. When you ask for opinions aren't people allowed to ask their own questions? You started your reply to me with a question after all. Billyb don't be afraid, like a stopped clock I'm at least right twice a day. :)

Gaz I, I assume you don't have a 24 hour clock, but I'll give you being correct at 09.29.40 today. On the general subject of our [not your] team, it would be nice if you could say something positive instead of being anti all the time. In fact Auntie Gaz might suit you. Cheers mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 15:47:41
I think it is pure greed by the SFA myself but there isn't a single bear out there who would prefer the old system of one up one down to still be in place and I believe this will be the first and last time Rangers have to go through playoffs so all in all I won't complain too loudly as the time for that would have been before the start of the season anyway.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Apr 2015 16:52:20
More bad news for you guys , gate recipets are take as a whole and split 50/50 , from all the play off games . Remember these are the rules YOUR club voted for .

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 17:55:29
Billyb when things happen in football that may affect my team, my league, my whatever I read up on it, get familiar with it, from about February onwards I keep a wee eye on who is winning the leagues across europe, in other words Celtic's potential CL qualifier opponents, Molde, Borisov etc, with usual suspects Basel leading in their division and so on. Here we are in April 2015 and some Rangers fans are asking what shape the play offs take and did folk know the cash gets split in such a way. So I must confess folk like that annoy me, it harks back to the none of this affects Rangers attitude that clearly hasn't served you well, some folk actually still think you play in a league with 19 homes games which is beyond cringeworthy billy let's face it. Say something positive, credit where its due? You guys, the guys that have stuck with this fiasco throughout, though I wouldn't blame anyone who disappeared on spiv issues alone. But for sure the support has been impressive in the most part throughout this. There ya go, I can do it. :)

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2015 21:48:15
Considering the SFA are taking half the gate, it would be an ideal time for the board to show their thanks to the fans for their support and digging deep to buy the shares and price the game at £5?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2015 07:48:31
Why do the sfa deserve the gate money of any team? Don't agree with it for anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2015 08:09:32
Gaz I don't think it really matters who you play in all honesty, you were put out twice by two teams ranked near to rangers, one below us and one just above us. ohh wait I forgot the boy who played for 4minutes and 37seconds changed the game so much! what was the score at that point 4-1? UEFA always have a different rule for celtic, fine them as much s possible but when it comes to "fair play" they bend that so much for you.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Apr 2015 11:45:33
Well that was surreal, not the for the first time I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about onlyshowaround. I'm guessing UEFA and Legia Warsaw somehow tweaked in your convoluted mind, the don't think it really matters who you play bit must be to do with some imagined conversation we had because it has no context to anything, anywhere!

As for UEFA I was there in 1984 when we all but got mugged by Rapid Vienna convincing UEFA into giving them getting a replay, the tube that threw the bottle was just that but the punishment far outweighed the crime, in that short of a bottle landing on the park there was no crime. Another small thing for your somewhat befuddled mind to consider, some of you make great play of Celtic being fined by UEFA, 7 times if I'm correct, are we really UEFA's pet favourites then with 7 fines? All merited by the way.

And I'll bite in this last bit as it intrigues me "put out twice by two teams ranked near to Rangers, are you talking in UEFA? Maribor and Warsaw? First off currently they are 82nd and 92nd to your ever dwindling 113th, secondly you could make the claim that the gap should be higher because you couldn't even manage a shot on target against the team both of them beat. Given that Rangers will spend at least one more season out of Europe here is the company you will be keeping come seeding time. Rangers will be approximately 240th in UEFA rankings, rubbing shoulders with such luminaries as NK Osijek, St Patrick's Athletic and the mighty Differdange 03. Any time you want to talk UEFA rankings I'll happily oblige onlyshowaround. :)
