Guys
If we do complete the leauge without a defeat Ally will think he will have acheived something great.
Yes on paper it look imprssive 34 wins 2 draws.
But what are the statistics for the following:
1) How many games did we take the lead and win by more than 2 goals
2) how many games did we scrape through by a margin of 1 goal
3) How many games did we come from behind and scrape a win
4) How many games did we win by playing the other team off the park
5) How many games did they impress you with their play
6) How many chances is Ally going to get

Fellow bears after reviewing all the karaoke songs, the most apt, in my opinion, would be ' Money for nothing' by Dire Straits.
What's your thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed billyb but Baybear beat you to it. Didn't the same group also have another one "brothers in arms folded"?
Here is an interesting fact for you when the rumour mill was rife about Boyd and Miller coming back I got the distinct impression most bears in favour of either coming back wanted Boyd but not Miller.
In 4. 5 years Boyd scored 1 goal for Rangers against Celtic whilst Miller scored 11 goals for us against them.

Incidentally they are both too old for me - forward not backwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about The Pretenders - Brass in Pocket

Both song and band name are appropriate

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies Nbear but probably my post was poorly worded. I know it was Baybear who posted this one. I was trying to ask the best of those already proposed.
On Miller and Boyd. Miller, although too old, would have suited our negative one up front policy. Boyd, again getting on in years, would score goals for fun but not when it really mattered. Biggest problem for Ally would by playing Boyd, he would need two up front.
Agree Nbear they are not what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with your post billyb it's my old eyes. I'm awa for my afternoon nap

If mccoist go's ( fingers crossed) do you think mcinnes would leave the sheep for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sadly I don't think either he or Super swally will leave. But agree Mcc the knife McInnes would be a good manager in an ideal world.

Agree0 Disagree0

At this stage, it would be doubtful. If he has another good season with them, and we can somehow get a third consecutive promotion, he may get an offer. Would any manager want to manage us until we are being run by the right people though?

if Wallace and temp don't make it on Saturday. what would be your starting 11, mine would be. BELL FOSTER MCCULLOCH MOSHNI SMITH,, GALLACHER LAW BLACK AIRD/SHIELS DALY CLARK. but no doubt ally will find places for peralta and faure. let's go for it mc coist. is last chance saloon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bell, Foster Mcculloch Moshni Smith, Black Law Aird Sheils Clarke Daly

next home game i'd drop black and law for gasparotto and crawford

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 is gaspa not a defender and also you and op are pretty much as useless as ally if that's your team selections

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't let Mohsni near the team again, he's been a liability and an accident waiting to happen for weeks now. Gasporotto (or however it's spelt) is worthy of a try

I'm just surprised that super wally didn't use the excuse that we were beten by a team in a higher division.
''WE ARE RANGERS AND SHOULD FEAR NO ONE''

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Super Wally? What are you, 12? Show some respect to a Rangers legend

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP that is disgraceful think you meant to say Super Swally. Great striker single fish manager.

Ally really has to go never thought I would say this as he was my hero as a player and always wanted him to be given his chance but think his chance has been and gone he should have taken the inverness job and cut his managerial teeth there mabey it's just the the rangers job is too big to take on as a rookie and my frustration at the way his teams are picked and play ishas turned to hatred of the man as he obviously can see the dammage he is doing and if he was a real true blue rangers man he would realise that he can't do the job and walk away and at the rate he's going imo if he doesn't walk away when he does eventually go there will be far to much ill feeling against him for him to even come to ibrox and watch games I would have loved him to have had the tactical nous of someone like Brendan Rogers at Liverpool and be able to play mind gaes like Fergie but it wwasn't to be so PLEASE GO NOW ALLY!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It should be clear to everyone that he has no tactical awareness. Long balls up to Daly with no natural striker to play alongside was bad enough but then when Wallace went off to bring on Faure and put Foster to left back when we had a left back on field was astonishing. How can anyone defend that?

08 Apr 2014 13:23:55
Ally McCoist's abject failure as a coach and manager is now irretrievable after Sundays debacle. Most of us saw it coming as far back as those embarrassing European exits before the corporate roof fell in.
For me, the cardinal factor behind the tactical and coaching incompetence is his inability to learn from his mistakes. With a trail of cup exits and an eyesore of a product on the park, even the most limited manager at the lowest level might suss that something is not quite working. Proven SPL players don't perform, wastes of space like Foster, Mohsni and Smith are handed jerseys that should go to promising youngsters, Groundhog Day rules with an ugly long-ball, one-dimensional game plan via a lone striker who has diminished by the week. Yet Ally has neither the courage nor intelligence to at least try a different way. He is living poof of the old adage that he who does not learn from his mistakes is condemned to repeat them. Sadly the fire burning under is playing legacy is now inextinguishable and his only recourse now - and our only route to improvement on the park - is to walk away before every shred of dignity and self-respect is lost. If he is truly governed by self-interest, he is now at the tipping point where his entire reputation is on life support. King or a new Board would have to be literally insane to keep him, never mind entrust him with fresh transfer funds. If we are blessed to embrace an exciting new future, it has to be helmed by wise, experienced professional management.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said SLB. I've said since first game against Malmo that he wouldn't do. Optimistically, I thought starting from scratch in the lower leagues would have allowed him to develop a young vibrant and exciting team that was used to winning by the time we got back to the Premiership. But no, we haven't progressed. Cup exits have been financially disastrous. The football has been dire. There is no apparent youth policy, promising young players are being ignored for journeymen. How many hearts sank when they saw a midfield of Black, Hutton and Smith? Who was shocked when Faure came on? We know they are limited and not match winners. So why did he play them? Especially half fit. What's his legacy going to be? He's left us with no system of play, no forward planning, no pride in our play. Poor players running about with beards. Athletic looking? Rangers standards? I think not! Most of these part time teams look fitter and play better football. We have Duds we will have to pay off to get rid. He's paid a salary beyond his capabilities. If you are a true Ranger Ally, walk away without any lump sum. You will earn our thanks and retain your dignity ( crumbled after karaoke). If not you will never be respected if you turn up at Ibrox in the future. I'm gutted. This to me is worse than Berwick, Annan, Forfar. How much more can we take?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewis McLeod has been a huge loss but others of his age group from Murray Park should have surely been red flagged and " risked " after we'd won the league. It was almost promised.

It seems going unbeaten in the league became more important - honestly, who cares? - and senior players were preferred and then injured. It goes without saying that an opportunity to develop the youth was lost and senior players risked.

Two own goals conceded by this approach and we're way off the trajectory of where we should be. Why can Aberdeen and Dundee United do it on a vastly lower budget? Courage in their youth. We had the chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we all be wrong? no. Quite simple he is tactically inept knows nothing but the long high ball to anyone, and has to go asap. However I doubt that he will.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done SLB as accurate, succinct and eloquent a post as any I have read on this forum. Couldn't disagree with a word. Well said indeed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless of future results or performances under his replacement, sacking McCoist will be a huge step in the right direction, then he should be pilloried for the damage he has done and the money he took under false pretences, I hope he will never be able to attend Ibrox again, in my opinion the only status he should have is the worst manager and most hated Ranger of all time.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 while McLeod has shown potential I don't agree that he has been badly missed. He played in plenty of games where we were rotten. The boy has talent however he is still learning the game and isn't at the stage where he bosses games. My biggest fear for him is that the manager will waste him. That's all Ally seems to be able to do make players go backwards

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 it's all about opinions and young Lewis wouldn't have been missed in Gers teams of the past but in this one definitely IMO. No complete stand outs but young Lewis is definitely my player of the year. He has kept his form in a poor team which is probably not easy for a young player but how do we know because we are not used to young players breaking through at Ibrox?

Agree0 Disagree0

Slb is only stating which most of us knows I remeber him standing with his arms folded during his ill fated attempt on europe its one thing and one thing only that stops him walking away and that's money if he walks away he goes with nothing if pushed he is entitled with his rolling contract to I years money maybe a deal could be worked but I doubt it he is wealthy enough to sit and wait for his money his side kicks would do a deal as hey would need to work but I am quite certain he will not do the decent thing and go his supposed love for the club only goes as far as the next pay cheque when he does which ever way it happens his reputation with the support will be zero a sorry state of affairs because I for one won't forgive or forget

Ally's karaoke set-list: "dazed and confused" Led Zep, "fool's gold" The Stone Roses and I was going to say "tears of a clown" but as he doesn't appear too bothered, cross that last one off.

I can't believe Ally and the team still had a party, I played in 2 cup finals in my time in the Army and lost both of them. I could hardly sleep after them, a party was arranged after one of them and we all sat there like statues, staring at each other. Knowing we gave our all for nothing. And he is up and about singing. He should have sent them all home, and made them come in early for training next day not that it looks like they do any training, as they are clueless when it comes to free-kicks and corners, can't pass to each other or are colour blind.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCoist definitely has the EX factor, he should sing "The whole world's laughing at me" (Teddy Pendergrass). "Sabotage" (Black Sabbath) would be the album name, and his band would be the Charlatans.

Not sure which song Ally should have been singing on Sunday but if anybody still thinks he is a Rangers quality manager then their song should be 'The Land of Make Believe'.

Just heard about this karaoke carry on, priceless. I personally was no use to anyone after watching that dross, absolutely gutted. To cheer my self up I wondered what he could be singing. I came up with Joe Dolche Shuddupa Your Face as he obviously isn't interested in the opinion of the masses. Corny song I know, what others could he have been singing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Send in the Clowns by Barbara Streisand springs to mind.
Think, 'You're so Vain' may be a good shout too. If that man was chocolate he'd eat himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have been John Denver's---- Leaving on a jet plane. Wishful thinking I'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought of another that fits perfectly in song title and band name.
'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits!
I rest my case

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm enjoying this wee bit of banter Broxi. Just thought of a couple I'd like him to be singing. Ally is something of a 'Pretender' in my opinion so with this in mind I'll go with a couple of Pretenders tracks I'd like him to have a crack at for his next karaoke session- 'Goodbye' and in refrerence to the dwindling support for him 'Where has everybody gone'

Agree0 Disagree0

Got another, Puppet On A String

Agree0 Disagree0

Money for nothing in the lead so far. Not the title but wish super salary would listen to Gloria Gaynor's "go -walk out that door- your not welcome anymore" and do one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads i'v said this months ago, if not then a few years past.
"Pretender" The Foo Fighters.
Might I add, it isn't for the words "never surrender", but about all the pretenders within the walls of Ibrox.

I may be abroad, but Rangers are within my core, everywhere i'v ever been. How can I advertise or shout loud when abroad, about The Gers, when we scrape through games.

My Dad played in goal for Raith in the early 60's, but were both Gers men first and foremost, we all know that Raith's costs have been and are much, much less then ours.

Why can this go on.
Much money, thrown to the breeze, again and again oh and maybe even again, then it could be too late.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god I should have kept that last appointment with my trick cyclist but here we go "Tradegy" by the BeeGees or Steps for our younger viewers like the Ed and Larky

Agree0 Disagree0

Found our new ally anthem,
Ed look up uncle kracker I'm not leaving, this song fits ally so well it sounds like he wrote it for his next signing.

Still lmao listening to it now.
Please tell me wot u think ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - hated uncle kracker since kid rock collaborated with him, sorry won't be listening)

What about heaven knows I'm miserable now by the smiths or king of pain by the police. first one is an ode to us ans the second an ode tae superswally

Agree0 Disagree0

What about a threesome, ally/durrant/macdowell singing david bowie's "ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS"

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 11 David Bowie's Major Tom- "ground control to Major Tom"- the three of them are either on the moon or wired to it but definitely not for football management.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I think the kracker is talentless but
With lyrics like these.

Another cigarette,
Whatever I can get
Everything I left behind.
Pictures of the past
Things that never last,
But satisfaction is oh. It's
A state of mind.

Somehow, someway
With nothin left to lose
The past has got me
Searching for someone like you.

Put another candle in the wind
It's just another thing that I can't fix
Play another game that I can't win
But I'm not leaving it like this.
Maybe I should find
common ground.

It sounds like a talentless let's say singer, and a clueless manager got together and wrote this.

Would def sound better in ally's scots voice. Rangers fans with hands in the air swaying. This would be no 1 in charts for years.

Come on Ed you know you'd buy it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - no I wouldn't lol)

Has anyone started an online petition for the immediate removal of ally mc as manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could be a good idea mate but how would we verify it was Rangers fans only that were signing it?

ibj d, mcc the knife, billyb, larky bear, Bigcol1872, Nbear2, RUGGY BEAR, Doiger and the rest. I need to hold my hands up and say that having been a previous backer of McCoist, I agree with all of you that he now needs to go. I'm new to this board but enjoy reading everyone's comments. I've been a season ticket holder since 1987 and agree that this is the worst Rangers team ever. I appreciate we are where we are at present but based on the wages we pay and the fact we are the Glasgow Rangers, it should be a lot better. I was maybe blinkered by Super Ally the player and McCoist the manager but the level of football we are playing just now is horrendous to watch and at times, junior level. I backed McCoist to the hilt and felt he had 2 hands tied behind his back but he has signed a lot of the players in the team today and has to be held accountable for that. I also agree that guys like Black should not be in a Rangers jersey based on his previous actions betting against his own team. Time for change and time for it to happen now. Hopefully this nightmare will end soon as everyone of us Rangers fans have been to hell and back from a footballing point of view.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP it'll get my vote as soon as it goes up

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally is only there to sell season tickets which is even more off a joke because people keep buying them because ally says so as long as this goes on Celtic fans will keep Laughing there heads off

Agree0 Disagree0

"Could be a good idea mate but how would we verify it was Rangers fans only that were signing it?" because other teams fans want him to stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

The way I see it every signature helps,
If others fans sign they are only helping
Our club.

I would love to see ally's response to a
Petition signed by 30 to 40 thousand fans asking for resignation

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 You could have a petition with the 500 million potential fans Green said were out there signing for him to go, the fact is, the man will be going nowhere soon. He will never walk away from the position he's in and the board don't have the cahunas to sack him. The season ticket money must be used as a bargaining tool or it's goodnight Rangers for good!

Agree0 Disagree0

No2. I think we all were wanting to give him a chance and we would have loved him to be a great manager. its not worked out so he should be big enough to hold his hands up and go. also the players are not helping him but I would respect him more if he dropped 6or7 of them and brought in some of the youth boys. however it's the self preservation that annoys me. we have a great history of managers but ally will go down as the worst. kills me to say that too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Allys response to 30 or 40 thousand signatur petition would be how much

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right lbj, ally will some how turn this into a wage rise for himself, but
Won't know about it because he doesn't
Read his contracts

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 8 you are obviously a much nicer chap than I am because it doesn't kill me to say he is by far the worst ever manager I have seen in charge of Rangers. That list includes Scot Symon, Davie White, Willie Waddell, Jock Wallace, John Greig, Jock Wallace, Graham Souness, Walter Smith, Dick Advocatt, Alec McLeish, Paul Le Guen, Walter Smith and last and very much least McCoist.

Great goalscorer probably our best ever but never in a million years a football manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed sorry for annoying you, any way
With your contacts setting this up.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - not something I am interested in setting up, at the end of the day if the board can't see that ally is inept then it says as much for their positions than the managers, a complete overhaul is required and signatures on paper isn't going to achieve that)

Just out of curiosity, has Ally actually signed off on the drop in wages, can't recall ever seeing anything from the club confirming that!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Apr 2014 23:26:55
I agree that Ally McCoist hasn't a clue as manager and goodness knows why he is still there. In his defence, when the parachute hit the fan we lost a whole team of decent players, i. e. Naismith, Whittaker, Davis, Bougherra, McGregor, Fleck, Edu, Papac, Jelavic, etc.
At least five of these players are currently playing in the EPL. Having said that, you'd think that the likes of McCulloch, Black, Templeton, Law and Daly, all with SPL experience, would be good enough to win the Challenge Cup. We've won back-to-back leagues at a canter but it is clear that the Championship will be a big, big challenge. Hearts, Hibs and Dundee could all be there. All the teams in Scottish football don't spend anything like the wages paid by the Old Firm so why can't we win the Championship and beat Dundee Utd with what we've got? It must come down to coaching and giving youth a chance too. I've said this several times before on here - where are Lewis McLeod, Barrie Mackay, Gasparatto, Crawford and Hegarty? However, if we are going to sign more players for next season, surely the decisions as to who we sign must be made by someone else? Gers fans have suffered two years or so of pain and humiliation while a very ordinary Celtic team win the league but can't win a cup. We deserve better!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True, honest and diplomatic post DOIGER. Bottom line is the guy has not got the ability to manage a football team. We have over pampered proffessional players on full time wages. With the few bodies that he inherited and the players he has brought, Ally and co. don't know how to play them/ what to look for. He has not got a leader nor backbone to any starting 11. Surely with the coin/wages he has spent his management team could of established a core to work around. His tactics are appalling and MP is excruciatingly under utilized. Is it true they prepared for the Raith game at some luxury hotel? Does MP not have facilities akin to prematch prep? He is out of his comfort zone and sooner rather than later he will lose the dressing room as he is losing the fans. Life could be worse!
