br65 i would love for our club to have calmness in adversity but sadly it doesn't exist even in the slightest one bad result and the majority of supporters are calling for a full overhaul only weeks after praising our chairman and management team in the recent recruitment drive BE PATIENT PEOPLE PEDRO WILL DELIVER

08 Jul 2017 00:49:44
Yeh . deliver pizzas for Dominos!
Like me 🤣

08 Jul 2017 02:23:23
I always keep faith and keep believing but what I don't understand is pedros tactics. Four at back with fullbacks pushing on leaves two centre halfs and two holding midfielders pretecting them. Why not play three at back with one holding midfielder. Surely that's more balanced.

08 Jul 2017 11:11:27
OP. How can you be so certain that Pedro will deliver? On what evidence do you base this idea on because it sounds like blind faith to me.

As for one bad result, his team has given us the two most humiliating results in my lifetime as a Rangers fan in the space of only a few months.

To put Tuesday's result in perspective, the team that finished 19 points above Progres in the Luxembourg League last season were beaten 4-1 on aggregate by the team that finished 4th in the Azerbaijani league.

PS. I remember many fans trying to guarantee me that Paul Le Guen would deliver. Remind how that one ended and Le Guen strikes me as a far more competent manager than Pedro.

08 Jul 2017 11:54:16
Naz, there are no guarantees in football.

If Pedro goes, how long would you give the next guy? 5 games? Then what?

Forget about the what ifs - get behind the team instead of trying to predict failure.

As for humiliating. you need to get out more

08 Jul 2017 13:59:22
We need to hope Ped comes good because we have a load of players that will need an interpretor if he goes. That in itself would be a major problem

07 Jul 2017 18:17:10
This EBT stuff is all the motivation Pedro should need to up the Scottish boys a peg or 2. I hope wee Dorrans feels like us all and the other lads can channel that. It's time to stick it to these plebs.

07 Jul 2017 18:01:34
Here is something for you that have doubts about the management team and players. How long did it take Sir Alex Ferguson to get Man Utd back on track? It took him 3 seasons? before he won anything. You just don't know how good Caixinha could be.

I believe we are in a worse state than what Man Utd were at that time.

07 Jul 2017 20:44:21
3 years that will be nine in a row by then squeeky bum time for you that season if that happens or 19 if titles stripped

07 Jul 2017 23:17:11
Think we all know no titles will be stripped, how many more times can it be said by the authorities?

07 Jul 2017 23:29:05
9 if your lucky, you must earn them remember but 19? Naw you cannae count.

07 Jul 2017 16:31:34
I was speaking to my brother yesterday regarding the EBT saga and he made a good comparison. He said:

"It's like reducing the speed limit on a stretch of road and then trying to punish every driver who previously observed the old speed limit. "

He's totally right too. No criminality was involved. Rangers were simply using a loophole that existed at the time.

07 Jul 2017 16:50:36
the government introduced the EBT as a legal way of reducing the tax you pay kinda similar to an ISA

then it realised oh wait too many people are benefitting from it so let's do a u-turn

right if you used our EBT scheme you were illegally dodging tax so we want all the tax bank

and we end up getting liquidated and now they want our titles stripped

you cldnt make it up

07 Jul 2017 17:36:57
To be completely honest guys. That's not the case. EBT's are and remain legal but it was the operation of the scheme by Rangers during the time which was incorrect.

I'm 2004 HMRC asked Rangers if there were any side letters and we said no. The Boumsong raid in 2008 found these letters which showed the payments were actually earnings which is why the Supreme Court ruled in favour of HMRC.

That being said, I don't buy into the whole competitive advantage argument as who is to say we wouldn't have just paid the additional amounts if we didn't operate the scheme?

07 Jul 2017 17:42:42
Good statement by the chairman on website explaining position fully. Thank you DK.

07 Jul 2017 20:47:17
big bear Davic murray said at recent trial they operated scheme to get in players they otherwise couldn't afford.

07 Jul 2017 23:38:00
No he said may not, and I highly doubt we couldn't have got them anyway.

08 Jul 2017 00:08:52
There was no loophole. EBT were supposed to be loans. In SDMs case the loans were never meant to be repaid, so outwith the rules of EBTs.
If the there was no criminality and everything was above board why was SDM not upfront about the use of EBTs to the football authorities. Instead he buried them from sight.

08 Jul 2017 05:27:22
STYAB, it was HMRC themselves who said Rangers were not involved in any criminality.

08 Jul 2017 07:52:45
No but broke the rules of the SFA by having undeclared contracts

08 Jul 2017 08:34:52
My understanding is that EBT's were included in accounts submitted to SPL each year and side-letters only referred to repayment of these. If so, what are the undeclared contracts?
Therefore if I am correct, what SPL or SFA rule are we accused of breaking?

08 Jul 2017 15:24:19
Make your mind up, STYAB. Is it criminality or undeclared contracts? Stop changing your argument to suit your agenda.

07 Jul 2017 16:08:58
"Now the Dundee United fans group, known as the Arab Trust, has released a statement in which they say the court ruling shows Rangers had an "unfair advantage" between 2001 to 2010 and that Scottish football was "cheated" during this era. "

Seriously?! Perhaps Celtic have a gripe, and even that is pretty tenuous given they also used tax avoidance schemes, but the rest of Scottish football need to wind their necks in!

Were Aberdeen or Dundee Utd going to challenge for titles if we didn't use EBTs? Of course not. Did they and the rest of Scottish football enjoy a higher standard of football and a reputation boost off the back of EBTs? Of course they did.

All the wee diddy teams should be thankful we dragged the standard of football on show away from the pub leagues for a bit and leave the conspiracies to Celtic.

07 Jul 2017 16:21:01
Was just about to post the same. Dundee united were closer to relegation than top during these years. Did they complain about how many fans we brought up with us then. The longer they rot in the championship the better

07 Jul 2017 16:35:24
The problem is if one club starts it the rest will follow suit, the higher up the league you finish the more money you get. DU will think they would have had a better chance of beating us if we never had Klos etc. End of the day it was 11 men v 11 men, every club is guilty of trying to cut corners and dodge tax in someway or another.

End of the day this is a business matter not a footballing matter.

07 Jul 2017 17:20:03
Good shout Ruddiger, l no it may not be popular and we all like to support the team but l think. k it is time to deprive them all of the blue £/ $.
We will see how the react to not getting the bonanza of our great fans giving them money

07 Jul 2017 17:52:30
All the wee diddys like the sheep and Utd need to realise that the players we signed at that time raised the profile of the game in this country and actually helped them sign players that would otherwise never have played at their dumps.

07 Jul 2017 20:50:21
you forget to mention utd lost a cup final to you during this time as did a number of the wee Diddy teams as you put it

07 Jul 2017 21:39:55
Dundee utd and their supporters club can away and shite for all anyone cares.

08 Jul 2017 00:53:48
I said we should boycott away games at the start of last season because of an unhealthy hate towards Rangers and I was shot down. Somebody has got to stand up for the club.

08 Jul 2017 09:19:09
I will always agree on the point of not going to away games. Starve them out. It's the only way to fight back

08 Jul 2017 17:21:20
As others have already posted the use of Etb's were not illegal so the argument from certain others is that it was the failure to disclose the detail to the SPL that is being pushed as the excuse to punish us, the SAME failure to disclose that is well documented by Celtic who themselves failed to inform the SPL of details of their use of etb's.
There seems to be a lot of comment here from people who are agenda driven but don't do their homework in regards to who did what and why, did the Celtic player who was payed with an etb after he had left the club pay it back? . Look it up for the answer then come back with a reply, after all rules are rules ☺

07 Jul 2017 15:16:33
We need to give the new foreign lads a chance. Some people have already written off Dalcio. The guy might be pi@s but it's basically pre season. Ridiculeing the new guys is just doing the Rhats job for them.

I'm backing my manager and my team 100%.

P. s Bruno did predict we would be out of Europe by Wednesday this morning so hats off to mystic megs son.

07 Jul 2017 16:18:06
Yes need to get right behind the manager now and all of the new signings.

07 Jul 2017 14:28:33
Now the knot has finally gone from my stomach after Tue and my brain has had a chance to evaluate things, its time to get behind the club again. Gutted I was however I think as others have said we are not good enough to reach the group stages so we were putting off the inevitable. The final qualifying game would have been with a top team (Everton, Milan) and we have no right to win that just yet. Hard as it is, we must must move on.
We now witness further hatred pouring out the other clubs like lava from a volcano. I wry smile from me, there just curtain twitching neighbours, jealousy, envy and a secret deep down endorsement and admiration of our history, triumphs, support and that beautiful blue sea. Also can anyone explain why I have a building distaste to DUFC. If your are still feeling down then read, holding back a tear, the immortal words of Mr Struth.
I have been lucky - lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country.

To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him. "

Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.

07 Jul 2017 15:22:33
See the witchunt is on again by supporters clubs pushing to get titles stripped usual top 3 Celtic, Aberdeen . dundee Utd showing their hate. pushing and pushing same as they did 5 year ago . sfa reviewing matter .

07 Jul 2017 16:21:02
Great post TJBB, never tire of hearing.

07 Jul 2017 16:38:47
Great post. as usual I will highlight the requirement for all supporters of the club to support.

As Mr Struth said "In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country"

07 Jul 2017 16:59:54
Its the Lawell clique bumpin their gums as usual. the hatred for our club is our motivation.

07 Jul 2017 14:22:37
Well bears after signing dorrans, but exiting Europe do you think anyone else will come in . personally I'm happy what we've brought in I just think we need time, and judge the team when we have them all back and playing and get a settled team in place, again personally if we did bring in more who would you go for within our limits

07 Jul 2017 14:44:12
tbh we are out our depth we where relaying on Europa league money.

if we bring in anti e should be Patterson and walker. maybe even push the boat out and try get a wee loan off a Spanish club.

07 Jul 2017 14:59:27
Patterson? Is that the boy who just signed for Cardiff?

07 Jul 2017 16:10:29
Aye he signed for Cardiff weeks ago.

07 Jul 2017 12:27:36
The time has come for the following -
Mass boycot of all away games time to stand up and fight fire with fire.
PC to replace Wallace as captain with Alves
Sign a decent right back tav cannot defend
Get walker in somehow perhaps offering player plus cash
The hatred from all other teams towards is getting worse. Time to fight back.
The players all need to step up to the plate and deliver. We need to hit the ground running at start of season. A good start is an absolute must.

07 Jul 2017 12:31:41
Boycotting away games will not help the players on the pitch though.

07 Jul 2017 13:09:24
They are professional players playing for Scotland's biggest club and the most successful club in the world. What better incentive to go out and play anywhere? Starving out those who hate us and continue to villify us - it is high time we adopted this approach.

07 Jul 2017 14:39:48
100% agree with away boycott, would also reduce their allocation for ibrox. We need to stand up for our club and hit them were it hurts. Give them nothing . I don't buy into argument that it hurts our team, they are professional and as such should be able to deal with it. I would go a stage further in not buying any players from Scottish clubs but target those who's contracts have one year left and sign on a Bosman with 6 months left. Time to look after ourselves

07 Jul 2017 15:04:05
@gers09 your having a laugh "it's time to look after ourselves" that's what you should have done 15 years ago. You were all blinkered and stuck in Murray's bull that you let your club become a shambles and that's why you will feel victimised, it's time to open your eyes show humility and say we did cheat financially and for that we should be stripped of the trophies rather than wait for others to take them from you. Show the world after years of cheating by your club that the fans want to do the right thing and maybe then you can start getting respect back.

07 Jul 2017 16:20:02
So if we are stripped of titles who do they go to? They can't go to Celtic because we know they were involved in tax avoidance, such as the EBT scheme, and it doesn't matter if you used 1 or 1000, using it is using it.

So do they go to the next team down? Will we need to check every team in the land to see if they've ever been involved in tax avoidance?

07 Jul 2017 16:31:23
Im still in shock there are people still saying we cheated, did we play with 12 players on the pitch?

we used a legal at the time system to loan players money that gets paid back after there death (is my understanding of ebt's)

so the case against rangers is we could not afford 2.7 million a year over 9 years, and that's why we had the better squad.

24 million is the unpaid tax using what was a legal system, which quite a few courts have said so, however the tax office kept going and going till they won.

is it because they hate rangers NO its because they want to get money back from english teams and other big business's

the problem is due to the hate for rangers a lot of people are reading too much into the ebt's, are they fair? is the tax system fair? is life fair?

Did Rangers cheat to win titles NO as even without ebt's we would have had the same top players maybe a few less squad back up players maybe, but then again we might not have.

peace out

07 Jul 2017 18:04:13
@ruddiger the titles get stripped from rangers and become void years they don't get passed down.
Celtic used an ebt for juninho but the difference to rangers is that they saw that this was dodgy and corrected it and paid the required tax rangers didn't, here's a novel idea if the rangers want to keep their titles why don't your current board pay their tax from ebt era to keep your historical titles? Or are you going to say it's not up to us to pay for a liquidated companies history?
@delman it was a legal system at the time if used correctly, rangers have ultimately been found to have used it incorrectly and that's not my opinion that's the supreme court's opinion

08 Jul 2017 09:28:57
Then your team also used the system incorrectly by not declaring it to the SFA. Or does that not count in the grand scheme of things? Would Juninho not have signed if he hadn't been offered an ebt? How bitter and twisted are the supporters of your tainted team who obsess about all things Rangers. I Don't have a clue about your club's transfer activity during this window. Couldn't name any player you have signed. I just don't care. For me, as with you, it is all about The Rangers

07 Jul 2017 10:02:35
The Sheep fans going all out to get us stripped of titles because of the 'big tax' case. How pathetic. If we can't quite catch the manky mob this season the next best thing would be to muller the sheep and make them a distant third (or fourth) in the league. Morons.

07 Jul 2017 10:26:56
There own club are blowing them out
No statement to come from the club
Bitter clowns

07 Jul 2017 11:48:45
The media only want stories and comments from people who want the titles stripped. People who back us do not get publicity because that's not a good headline. Rangers media department should get to grips with anti Rangers bias and "nip this negativity in the bud"

07 Jul 2017 12:17:45
I know this is very extreme but it reflects my feeling for the other Scottish clubs at the moment.
It would be great if we could play away games on the big screens at Ibrox and fire all the away games gate money back into our club rather than financing the clubs that are hell bent on hurting Rangers

07 Jul 2017 12:52:00
What league rules were broken? Or is this retrospective action?

07 Jul 2017 13:11:19
Great idea Fraser. Won't happen though due to broadcasting rights. As for those northern vermin - I wouldn't waste my breath on them

07 Jul 2017 16:17:59
"It would be great if we could play away games on the big screens at Ibrox. "
Great idea. Except we'd probably end up giving these teams more than if we took and sold our ticket allocation.

07 Jul 2017 09:21:42
Every year at this time people on here berate the whole of Scottish football for falling at the first hurdle in Europe and how it harms the co-efficient and how Scotland suffered when we were in the lower leagues. Well that's 2 x Diddy teams ( to coin a phrase ) out already and again co-efficient not improved. it's left to the other 2 x Diddy teams to hopefully make inroads . p.

07 Jul 2017 10:02:19
Scottish football needs to move to playing summer football with a complete winter shut down. A two week summer shutdown to allow players to refresh. This makes sense weather wise and also would attract more attention and marketing to our game. There is no football in the UK at all. People would watch due to the lack of it. This would enable us to get rid of artificial pitches as well. No idea how to integrate this with the Euro Championships or World Cup. The Scandinavian countries manage it, why can't we?

07 Jul 2017 10:30:13
Agree 100%, it can't carry on the way it is. It's very easy really the answer is simple. sfa have to go to SKY ( the real authority of British football) and say what would you like us to do we are at your mercy, make our product appealing, sky know what they're doing on a humongous scale, the sfa don't and no one can disagree.

07 Jul 2017 13:13:35
Will never support them or the northern vermin so the coefficient can take a running f*** as far as i"m concerned

07 Jul 2017 08:57:49
The D record saying Aberdeen could try to get Louis mault. now if I remember when it was rumoured that we wanted him did there chairman at the time get all angry saying we would haft to pay over 1million for him? This could be interesting as Aberdeen could not pay even half that so if that deal gets done for me will be total proof these clubs are very bitter towards us.

07 Jul 2017 09:17:10
Deanobear remember they have just pocketed £1.3m from celtic so they have money to spend and also why do we demand top dollar for our rubbish players and then try and get any other Scottish players on the cheap claiming other teams inflate their price. double standards every team has to look after their budget including us.

07 Jul 2017 13:35:11
I don't think we do demand top doller for are players think that has been a problem with us in the past few years tbh and it's not just the asking price they want it's more the fact the moment a mention of us being interested in a player they just all seem to get there backs up and get angry straight away before we have even tried to contact them.

07 Jul 2017 08:47:04
Were people calling for McCoists head as much as Caixinhas when he managed to get us knocked out of Europe by a team we should have easily beaten?

07 Jul 2017 08:58:53
Wait not just one team, but two teams.

07 Jul 2017 09:19:21
To be fair surely a part time team that finished 4th in the Luxembourg league is much worse than a team that won the Slovenian title that year? Yes it was embarrassing but it doesn't even come close to Tuesday imo mate.

07 Jul 2017 09:35:39
We had English prem quality players, in my eyes all 3 results are terrible.

07 Jul 2017 09:48:46
No doubt about it, all 3 results are terrible. All i'm saying is that Tuesday was, in my opinion, the worst of the three.

07 Jul 2017 15:05:38
So are we wrong to berate the manager then onlyshow?

07 Jul 2017 08:12:42
it looks like the fangs are out for more blood with the loss of the tax case. we all know they want titles stripped from us but surely it can't be as simple. every team in Scotland benefited from the rangers brand tv deals gate money etc should that not be paid back by other clubs this bloodlust for our club may cause collateral damage that others may not bounce back as we have on numerous occasions. I think they are adding strengh to the rangers brand as other look on with disbelief at the extent they will go to try and ruin us. outside Scotland it's only a convicted wife beater that's bothered.

07 Jul 2017 09:11:55
Simple remedy. Don't go to any away games. Starve them all out

07 Jul 2017 10:05:56
seeker. as stated in previous post they didn't have our fans (blue pound) for 4 years and nobody went bust. so how does starving them make any difference now clubs just cut their cloth to suit. and boycotts don't really work for away games
as some people will always go so from no blue pound to some blue pound I don't see the benefit. and if it was reciprocated I can see 100 away fans at Ibrox with the same segregation, stewarding and police costs it would actually be detrimental to us financially. and don't say ban away fans as spfl would likely throw us out of the league if we tried that. I sometimes feel people in here believe the blue pound is everything and I am afraid 20 years ago maybe true but not so much now. like it or not WE are not as important now as we once were.

07 Jul 2017 10:06:16
Totally agree Seeker don't go to away games why should we finace their continuing hatered of Rangers.

07 Jul 2017 12:17:19
Simple remedy. Put forward an argument why there was no sporting advantage and the stripping of titles will be irrelevant.

07 Jul 2017 12:30:33
Fight it all the way.

07 Jul 2017 13:19:58
Johnny. These clubs struggled big time in the top league when we were away. Even the Desmond subsidised lot on the other side. Look at the state of the manky mob from Dundee for instance. Another 2 games without the blue pound might just tip some of them over the edge. It is now time to hit back and challenge everything otherwise Liewell and his puppets will simply steamroller over the top of us. Time to grow a pair
