According to a certain paper tonight, Naismith has said he will play for Rangers for free until the summer in an attempt to land a contract in the summer.

At first I thought no harm in that just take him, but after I thought about it, I feel at 31 we shouldn't be going down that route. If you asked me if I'd prefer Naismith or Cummings, I'd have to say Cummings. He's only 21 and has a certain swagger about him that I feel our team lacks, almost like a Nacho Novo type player.

However, I'd only pay the million for Cummings if we could shift somebody out and reinvest the money on him 👍🏼

Would be good if we could get Alves out the door with his reportedly huge salary, but as per Rangers standard luck, just before the transfer window opens he leaves the stadium wearing a moon boot. Unlikely he will leave.

Taking Naismith for rest of season and paying nothing is a total no brainier. It’s win win. If he proves his fitness and scores goals then excellent, if not so be it.

Fair enough Scotty, he's got 18 months left on his contract though, so we would have to pay a fee i'd imagine?

I think Naismith is looking for a permanent contract and playing for free for the rest of the season is his way of bargaining for a deal.

Norwich are prepared to rip up his contract to save on his wages. He has stated that he will play for free and that money won’t be his motivator when getting a new contract. A playing and youth coaching role would be perfect after the summer 👍🏼

If that's the case with his contract being terminated with Norwich then i'd be behind him coming, as long as when his wage starts in the summer it's not daft money (he's meant to be one of the highest earners at Norwich), he's not the youngest and has a track record for long term injuries.

You're in safe hands and we all know what a tough wee fighter you are! Had the absolute privilege, of meeting and speaking with nacho, on a good few occasions! He's a total bluenose and a fans man! I have been lucky enough to see some wonderful Rangers goals but by a country mile my fav goal ever was wee Nachos pen v Fiorentina. My boy was 11 and we danced about the living room like idiots. get well soon Nacho.
